(Interpreting posts to come up with a general idea of what just happened...)
As Rai dived at the ghosts, one of them raised itself to intercept her. Being incorporeal, it couldn't actually block her, per se, but as she passed straight through it, she felt a sudden shock as though she had been quickly dunked in a pool of ice water. A bitter, metallic taste filled her mouth as the smell of decay reeked in her nostrils. Nabbing Thalakos, she flew upward, faster than the ghosts which were seeking to pursue her and the unconscious poison mage. Landing quickly near William, she barked out her request. William sheathed his sword and quickly nabbed Tim. He sagged under the weight (after all, Tim's wearing full plate), and Tim gave a quick kickoff from William's chest, sending Tim through the air, landing on his feet in a catlike fashion.
He said coldly, "I can run my own @$$ out of here, thanks..."
In the meantime, Raishilliah had landed and put Thalakos down. As Tim and William instinctively shielded themselves from the buildup of magical energy, she chanted and casted, her wings and staff bringing focus and power to an otherwise moderately effective fireball. As the power siphoned from her wings and hands, it ran up channels in her staff with licks of flame, coming to the head of her staff and concentrating there, forming a ball of fire that burned brighter than the sun which was now sunk low on the horizon.
With a final word from Raishilliah, it released, spread, and blossomed in a wave over the four ghosts. The others saw the spectral figures waver, bend, release. And then they incinerated, blown away in a firestorm as though they were but fallen leaves. The companions smelt the scent of burning wood and heard the sound of a thousand blast furnaces roaring at once. Tim opened his mouth to shout and closed it quickly as the taste of charcoal made him gag.
And then it was over. Thalakos was barely conscious behind Rai, Tim and William were basically unharmed, and Angel was knocked out, but had not been caught in the blast. The ghosts were gone, not even cinders remaining.
Raishilliah herself felt an upheaval of her stomach. She coughed and blood came out. She threw up, and the blood was mixed with vomit. She had very definitely overexerted herself.
