A bird had come into view from the North. As it came closer to the city, the castle lookouts saw what was taken to be a Celestial. They assumed that it was a messenger from the battlefield, and they were hoping for good news.
As it came still closer, they were shocked to see that its wings seemed to be on fire. Calls for water were quickly sounded to greet this Holy Messenger.
Raishiliah flew over the castle, muttering about dinner. She was grumpy from a six hour flight and a narrow escape from demons.
The lookoutmen called for (what they thought to be) the Celestial to come back. By Fortius, what was it doing?
She was extremely confused. Some places yelled for her to leave, she didn't even know them, and yet they were calling her? She decided to go to the town and get some food. She still had ashes in her mouth from angry mob of townspeople at the last village.
Raishiliah landed in the town square. Some of the townspeople made quite a commotion. They had hardly seen creatures with wings, flaming ones nonetheless.
"What year is this?" she inquired from a small child looking up to her in wonder.
The child looked quite startled as he replied, "911. How come you don't know that?"
"Great." she muttered. "Has anyone seen something about the size of a house that's bluish green and shoots lightning bolts now and then?"
One old lady shook her head and muttered, "Crazy girl..."
"I don't have time for this. Where's some food?" she demanded.
She was off to the inn in about a minute, her escort keeping at least six feet away from her.
Raishiliah made a commotion in the inn. She was hardly ordinary looking. She was pale as a ghost, (or paler) had pale green eyes, light orange hair, and (the strangest of all) a six-foot wingspan of flaming golden wings. She wore a white mage robe with a green cape and carried a knarled wooden staff with a shining rainbow jewel fastened on with two interlocking pieces of wood. They had elven runes on them.
Her robe and cape didn't catch fire, probably because they were fireproof.
"Has anyone got an exploring party? I'm looking for some sort of portal. They're as big as houses, bluish green and shoot lightning." she asked the innkeeper.
As she ate her meal, she found out about Tim's expedition. Afterwards, she got a running start and flew off to see if she could catch up with this 'party'.
