Problems with IE

Unread postby BrainWalker » Wed Dec 24, 2003 9:41 pm

Okay, so here's the deal. Internet Explorer has gone stupid on me. It's apparantly forgotten how to save images. Whenever I ask it to save any kind of image whatsoever, it tries to save it as an untitled bitmap image. It doesn't recognize the filetype or the image name. Apparantly Netscape still remembers how to do it's damn job, but it also has it's share of problems, and I'd rather not have to use it as my primary browser.

So, anyone have any ideas what's wrong, or suggestions for improvement?

Preferably suggestions other than using Firebird or Opera or something like that. Mostly because I'm actually looking into that already.

Edit: Okay, Netscape has forgotten how to do it's damn job now. *sigh* <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>Edited by: [url=http://pub30.ezboard.com/brpgww60462.showUserPublicProfile?gid=brainwalker>BrainWalker</A]&nbsp; Image at: 12/24/03 9:48 pm

You know...I had that happen to me as well. Never could figure out what was going on with it.

Then I switched to Firebird, which solved the problem neatly. <p>------------------

If you want to continue using IE, you have two options.

First is that you just save it to disk as bmp, and convert it to jpg or gif or whatever using an image processor. LView is my (free) processor of choice, though you have photoshop and myriad others to choose from.

Second is that you right click the image you want to save, check its URL, and program that into a super-basic HTML file, with that URL as a hyperlink. Right click, Save Target As.

Neither is a lot of work, and comes without the hassles of incompatibility and unsupportedness that less-known browsers often wreak. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television.
