One quick question. In Gaera, are there any instruments for music?
_____________

Everything short of Electric guitars...and probably exceptions even there.
------

I do not go medieval on peoples asses. I go Renaissance. There's an important difference. Medieval is just beating someone with a mace, but Renaissance is artful, sophisticated. Smooth, yet firm, powerful, yet distinct. Everyone knows when someone's gone Medieval on their ass, but they don't know Renaissance until its too late. -Wiseass Dave

Anything Medieval can be found. Just about anything not-electrified works.

I'm going to ask Darkknight's obvious question, before he does.

Saxophones?
_________________

Brass instruments did exist in the Middle Ages. However, they really didn't reach any level of sophication due to lack of good molding technology until, I want to say, the mid to late 1800's. That's entirely conjecture, mind.

But essentially: You could BS it. But it's going to stick out like a massive sore thumb, so the rest of the character's aspects have to be really awesome to cover for it. Otherwise it just looks really stupid and out of place.

So, is this music to help out the team?

A more sophisticated instrument could probably be smuggled out of Valth. Lord knows we have enough Valthi guns floating around Igala.

I'm still proud to have one of the very few gunmen using muzzle-loading flintlocks, made with pride in Doma ;_;

I have a couple of characters who use flintlocks. About the same amount as I have characters who use Valthi guns, in fact.

When we say Valthi gun, do we mean, "six-shot western-style gun?" I remember Choark had one of those. Where do you think he got it?

Haha. No spleen, not saxes, although the thought has crossed my mind. No, I was just curious whether the subject had ever come up before.
_____________

Not saxes? Who are you, and what have you done with Darkknight?

And by the way, I don't think that saxes were around at the turn of the 20th century, so I don't think they'd exist anywhere outside Valth.
_________________

..This reminds me that I should do that fucking writeup on Valth.

And for the most part, Nick, no. Very few of the Valthi guns are pistols, with longbarrel weapons making up a massive majority of their weapons. Rifles with clips are just now making it into the higher-class civilian market, so those might start to get some attention (I'll personally reject any PC who tries to start with one, though.) But, in general, they aren't really that into pistols, which they consider to be sidearms for the most part, with rifles or shotguns being the main weapons.
ChibiUrusai: *chomps* I am underage. ^-^
Arch mage144: This means nothing to me. =P
T3chn0Namagomi: *motherly voice* Brian! What would Kate think if she heard you say that?!

---Dirtiness in a chat. Blame my mind for being in the gutter.

-Namagomi, who lives up to his name in this case.

If ya on about Justine Justice Nick - he didn't have a six shooters - though they were shaped like six shooters. No in fact his guns were rather awsomely designed wands/staff - he had just learned how to use his magic differently then most people because of his rather strange teacher.

So there ya go - all plot holes accounted for *fwips away*

Image
