an attempt to revive the Sky Sailors world...

One of the more interesting rps I've ever been apart of. Jak's Sky Sailors idea took the concept brought by the video game "Skies of Arcadia", (sky pirates, floating continents, etc.) but made it into his own sort of world with characters that were very unique and a joy to rp with. The crew of the Crimson Glory all had their own personalities and attitudes, which made it a very engrossing rp at times.

But sadly, things got very slow, and the Snide one was forced to end his epic rp idea.

Well, I liked the Sky Sailors world, and would love to see it revived somehow. Either with a new rp, or to finally continue the quest of the Crimson Glory's crew.

The Sky Sailors world already got a little play around in a chat RP I ran a good while back. The world is "free game" now, like Gaera, so any GM can muck around with it as they wish.

On the matter of the Crimson Glory's crew, if someone wanted to use them you'd either have to set the RP before Sky Sailors (and avoid any of the crew coming to know each other, to avoid timeline contradictions and the like) or set it after, with people coming up to think of how SS would have ended.

Also, naturally, I'd love to see people doing stuff with the world.

As a personal matter of intrest, in that fic i wrote that never finished The Crimson Glory ended its career by being driven into two houses in some docks, where it was later converted into an inn/pub by Rand, Evan and Kysta - going by the same name. Most of the crew then went there own way, though can regulary meet up there if thy wished.

Rand and Evan earned money by going from crew to crew, place to place, and getting into trouble along the way stealing and plundering and doing general adventure type things, with the eventual plan of earning enough money to one day revive the Crimson Glory. Rand also eventually planned to become the new captain.

While it'd be awsome to revive Sky Sailors with the same team - I don't think there's enough of the old crew around to keep it going. Still - it is still one of my fondest RP's I had ever taken part in. <p><div style="text-align:center"> </div>

Gabe was and still is one of my favourite characters, and I'd like to do something with him.

Perhaps we remaining players can collaborate with Jak to determine how the original Sky Sailors should end and in doing so leave the world open to both CI and plot and us free to use our existing characters?

Sounds like a plan to me. I could also just keep it inspecific, and say that they rescued Kysta, and that's all the solid info I let on.

Of course, the disadvantage of keeping inspecific would be that if the RP was ever revived we'd probably have to say they were alternate settings. I don't mind either way, however.

Well I'm sure they succeeded (some way) in not killing Faulkner, and of course doing some kind of daring rescue of Kysta, with Faulkner's pirate army's help.

Creed would probably have some kind of last battle with Richards and succeed in killing the bastard during all of this rescuing (probably amidst explosions and gunfire). Since Creed was what Richards was after all along, and Creed had to do SOMETHING to pay this little peckerhead back for putting him and the Glory crew in danger.

Course, that would leave the true ending, would the Crimson Glory crew stick together... or part ways afterwards?

I personally don't see some of the characters sticking around.

The Glory Crew:I see the original Glory crew (Kysta and Evans) sticking together. Oh and I'm sure Evan would find it in his heart to forgive Kali for accidentally lighting the forest on fire.

Rand: I see Rand either a) joining with the Glory crew, maybe having a little crush on Kysta, or b) join Faulkner's group, probably to have more stories to tell his mates should he ever return home.

Hannah: I see Hannah possibly leaving... or sticking with the Glory crew. Course Toki's not here... so...

An aside: Now wether Creed and Kali continue with their obvious feelings for each other, or just part ways... is up to Lys.

Kali: Now wether Kali stays in this world or returns home... is entirely up to her player. But if she sticks to the SS world, I see her probably either a) setting out onto her own journeys or b) Staying with the Glory crew, since she seemed to become quite fond of them. Unless she and a certain bounty hunter decide to do something...

Gabe: Well.. after all the fightin's over... I see this former Blackwing pirate becoming the captain of the Crimson Glory... since the position will be open after all this was over.

Jycks: Again, another possible new cannidate for either the Glory or Faulkner's crew. He loves machinery, so im sure he'd probably stick to the airships.

William: I don't know... maybe he'd leave to go try racing again.

Faulkner: The legendary pirate captain Faulkner would probably head back out into the skies, well... depends on what Pervy had in mind for him.

Creed: The guy who inadvertantly got the entire crew into this mess with Aegrea... I'm not so sure what he'd do. I mean, he COULD go back into his Bounty Hunting trade, since his spot on the wanted list would probably be taken off... but he'd by then get pretty attached to the crew and the others... they hadn't ratted on him when the chips were down. He might stick around for a bit longer... not forever... but just till he feels that it's right. Specially if him and Kali go anywhere with their burgeoning relationship.

At the point of the RP's death Gabe had no designs on the Captain position, and indeed fully intended to leave the ship after Kysta had been rescued. Actually, chances were he'd have gone back to pirating, though I don't see him joining Faulkner's group.

I say go with Cho's incomplete story, have the ship crash and become a bar/restaurant. Gabe would then have done the parting of ways, possibly without even a goodbye, because he's like that. Travel the skies for a few years, having fantastic and exciting experiences, etc. etc. Then if he meets up with the others again in RPs it'll be a pleasant(?) surprise.

Which leads me onto my next point - I say set any new RPs/CIs a few years after Sky Sailors, that'll leave ample room for whatever BSing we need to do.

For simplicity, "they all survived" would seem to be a good idea. As for the details, Faulkner helps the crew make a raid on Aegrea, Richards (Edited, hey give me a break, it HAS been a while) gives an order for the glory to get shot down - and crashes into the docks, causing so much damage that Richards gets a dishonourable discharge? I like the sounds of that one. :D

The Aegrean general (or was it captain?) is not William... the bad guy is Bernard Richards. The peckerhead who has a grudge against Creed, and since Creed was with the Glory crew... they're unintentionally caught up in this. Remember now?

I always imagined thecrashing of the Glory several years after the fact of the Kysta kidnapping thing - and aprt of some big battle of somesort where it was dramatically ended on land in some form or other.

But that was just me ={ As I was a fan of dramatic sea battles ending with cool shoreline battles of death with drink and swords and guns.

Jak and I had several ideas for Faulkner.

Most involved the party betraying him at some point, and taking him in for the Aegrean Guard Captain. There were several ways this could have been done, but the one I liked was sabotaging the base and ships, which would prompt Faulkner to escape on the Dreadnaught. Upon which the crew would have a chance to raid it and take Faulkner; perhaps after the pirates turned on him.

Along the way, they would learn more of his story, and perhaps sympathize with him a bit.

However, said Aegrean Captain was going to betray the group as a whole, imprisoning them all. In order to escape, they would have to spring Faulkner to help them. After they escape, he would want to come with them as he had nowhere else to turn, having lost his prior resources almost totally.

From there...It would have likely been a visit to Faulkner's homeland of...Angelia, was it? <p>------------------

After that little extract you just saw there, Perv and I came to decisions about what happens to Faulkner and Gabriel.

As well as rescuing Kysta, the crew of the Glory help Faulkner escape Aegrea's clutches, though he loses his fleet. The Glory flies to Bude (not necessarily immediately), where both Gabriel and Faulkner say their farewells to the party, though they are both set on different paths.

We also think it would be a good idea to have a gap of about a year between the events of the original Sky Sailors campaign and any new RPs set in the world.

It's up to the remaining players to decide what happened to their characters and fit that in with what we've just established. Make it snappy guys, I'm eager to get to RPing. :D

Also, the Pervster tells me that there is information on Angelia and Fyryn available, which he'll post soon. Jak, being the creator/GM, is probably the ideal candidate for providing info about the other settings already described, such as Bude, Aegrea, and the Ring Island.

Not wanting to go back to the slums without treasure, and cause he still feels some deep loyality to the dead captain, Rand would stay with the Crimson Glory and whoever stays as her crew, if they liked that idea or not, no matter where the Glory may be.

I would love to see Sky Sailors reseurected, being a great believer in the returning power of rps myself I say it could be done. However I think it would be best to end it, due to missing people and time, and instead have a new rp set after it.

After SS William would have continued trying to rebuild his life, attempting to raise the money and fame he thought he needed to win his wife back from her father. Unfortunately while he is currently at a "comfortable" level he seeks to raise his status, not realising that all he has to do is confront her fatehr and show him that he is rebuilding himself. Meanwhile he has been spending a lot of time in his private dock making adjustments to his old, but still good, racing ship, waiting for his opportunity. Plus an idea for a new type of ship has been lingering in his dreams, begging to be created...

I'd love to see this resurrected, though with a different char. As I like Kali, I might play her in spots, however. ^_^;

Kali: Eventually discovers the ice gem, and leaves to her own plane, though with a promise to return once in a while to visit. She has become fond of the crew after all. =D Of course, the duratoin and time between visits is somewhat.... iffy.

Faulkner Soundcrest: He escaped to Bude, broke and bereft of nearly everything but the clothing on his back.

Ramone, Indigo, and the Soundcrest Pirates: They got advanced warning of the Aegrean advance on Sarten Isle, and were able to escape, taking the Dreadnaught and their other ships with them. It is not known where they restablished themselves yet.

Well... Creeds ending has to be split into two possibillities till I get confirmation of Richards' death.

Creed kills Richards:
- Without much of a large standing on the Aegrean (S)Hit List anymore, Blackhart leaves the Crimson Glory... to possibly get back into the Bounty Hunting scene. Course not without saying his goodbyes first to the crew. He may of course return eventually...

Richards's fated death temporarily delayed:
- Creed leaves the Crimson Glory in hopes that it will draw away bad attention to the innocent (not to mention that he brought this down upon them) ship crew.
