Tur'nasus's arrows finished off the scout that had appeared first, but missed the other two targets, one of which bounded for the trunk of her tree and scrambled up to face Tur'nasus on her own branch.
On the ground, Avry'l's attack went wide as the Tiziat lept to the left, but the point of the scythe blade managed to barely graze one of the creature's middle legs, causing it to freeze for a moment and accidentally tangle itself for a moment in its own six appendages. Before Avry'l could strike the final blow, though, he was pulled off-balance by another Tiziat swinging by its teeth from the Wind Guide's mantle.
Vas's target was only slightly confused by the pirouetting of the cloak, and was able to dodge the attack to its throat. However, its left eye quickly began to drip blood and whatever green fluid gave the sphere its color. It began to slink back as though giving up, but when it reached the trunk of the nearest tree, it kicked off and into the air with two pairs of muscled legs and aimed the claws of the front pair at Vas's head.
Arenda's attack proved more effective, and her sword plunged into the fleshy neck of the creature, missing the throat but lodging firmly between two bones of the spine. The creature's eyes went wide for a moment and then closed forever.
Jagen pulled his sword out of his opponent's shoulder, and turned the flat into the monster's face when it tried to jump for him and swung the sword, sending the creature sprawling into the dirt. It regained its footing and lept again, and this time bit down on steel as Jagen stopped the advance with his rapier. He kicked out as hard as he could, and the Tiziat was flung headlong into a stout tree trunk. It hit it at an angle and glanced off, spinning into the underbrush.
At this point, six Tiziat remained: one engaging Tur'nasus in the tree, one biting Avry'l's cloak, one trying to untangle its legs and get away from Avry'l, one trying to tear Vas's face off, one landing on the ground after getting kicked, and one slinking off for reinforcements. Maybe Wispuna will see the last one and do something about it?
