Sulfras did not look up to answer Keldorn's questions.

"The race of Dragons is dead. Humans brought us down. The world is now yours to rule. I am giving you the tools to do so. What you do with them is up to you."

The Drake looked at Keldorn curiously, as if asking if he was ready to go. It did not look like Sulfras was going to provide much more information.

"Alright....uh....thanks, I think...."

Keldorn attached his hammer to his belt, figuring it wasn't going to do much good even if the situation did call for it. He turned to the drake, and waited for him to lead the way.

Keldorn was lead through the cavern by the Drake, and eventually taken to another new chamber. In it was a crude stone table with a hilt laying on it.

Yes, a hilt. Not a sword, a hilt for a sword. But it only took a glance from Keldorn's trained eye to tell that the craftsman who had made it was a true master, the likes of which no longer walked the world either in Exile or in the Empire. Alas, that was also all there was there. Apparently, the blade was not in the dragon's possession. Once Keldorn had taken the hilt in his hands, the Drake had turned and begun to head off in another direction. Once Keldorn caught up, he could see a shimmering light coming from in front of it. Soon, the lizard stood aside once more.

In front of him, Keldorn could see a hazy picture of grass and sunlight hanging in mid air. It seemed to be something of a magical portal. The Drake motioned him forward, and before he could figure out what was going on, he was shoved through by an unseen force. He found himself back out in open grassland, the mountain pass he had been in a few hours before now to his back...

Carlae appraised the situation and quickly ran in Genji's direction, pulling her dirk from its sheath as she did so. Mentally she was going through her list of spells... but she reached the Nephilim before she had decided on one. New to battle, her nerves got the better of her, preventing her from deciding on a spell for the moment. She merely tensed, prepared to strike when the unicorn came close...

((OOC: Carlae's turn spent manuevering around the force barrier and preparing for battle... unless her player decides to have her cast a spell before she runs out of AP. Nick, Blaze, I'll take an action from either of you. There's only one monster left, so let's wrap this up, hm?))

(Might as well...)

As the unicorn thundered towards Genji, Carlae snapped into action, leaping forward and attempting to plunge her dirk into its neck.

>_< High accuracy, low damage...

Rather than sever the unicorn's neck, however, Carlae overswung and wound up smacking it with the hilts, leaving only a small bruise and light cut as the dagger was withdrawn. It did nothing to slow the unicorn, which was still intent on Genji. The hasted Nephilim, however, was easily keeping ahead of it, and in another split second, he had one of his spears in his hands once more. He would have to act fast if he hoped to hit his prey before it closed to close range, however.

Genji swore again, this time, spinning in the dirt on one leg as he darted toward the towering beast in front of him. Taking a breath of air, he hurled his spear in what might be his final action as a hunter...

GAME'S FIRST CRITICAL HIT!

... and slammed the weapon home, driving it straight through his prey's chest and out it's back. To stunned to even whimper, the unicorn fell back in a pool of blood, very much dead. The five adventurers stood amongst the fallen unicorns for a moment. What would happen next was up to them.

"Let's got choping." angel said as he bent down and cut a line up the first unicorns chest till he hit the ribcage.

Angel then reatched his hands in, hot steaming rising from the inside of the corpse. and pulled out all the guts, he then procedded to take out the heart and lungs. After some more fiddleing he tied a rope to the unicorns feet and raised it onto a branch, causing it to hang in place.

"don't have much time to dry." Angel said as he began to butcher it, despite it's moist nature.

(OOCImage utchering for meat takes a good 8 hours so we're only gonna take what we need, maybe an hour at most)

Elena covered her mouth and made a wierd face.

"Uh... Notanymore." she muttered, holding her mouth. Disgusting. Apart from the fact her stomach was already hurting, this was just too much, and she felt like she was going to vomit..

(Of course, I think it's high time for the stomach thing to start. Your call, obviouisly, Mr. GM)

((OOC: Indeed, Daien...))

A moment later Elena did indeed vomit, loosing most of the meal she had recently eaten. While to most this would appear to merely be a sign of squeamishness on the mage's part, such things did not explain why she suddenly felt dizzy.

To Carlae, however, the greenish color of Elena's vomit was a hint, however. Food poisoning, perhaps?

Angel looked down at the puddle of vomit, greenish in color.

"yup, that's food poisoning." Angel said with a stoic face and tone. "Great, this isn't gonna be good."

Mmm... tastes like chicken!

Postby Nick Shogun » Thu Feb 06, 2003 10:00 pm

Genji plopped down next to Elena, still chomping on raw, butchered unicorn flesh. She was profusely sweating, but as to what this meant, Genji did not know, or rather, did not care.

As a matter of fact, Genji did not care for any of them. The girls were so small and fragile, and the human men Genji had met so far all seemed like idiots. He had no desire to help any of them. Actually, he would have been quite content to watch them fight the unicorns themselves if he had not been so famished, though he claimed not to be.

The slender female did indeed look rather sickly, but Genji had to ask himself: did he care enough to help her?

"lets go back to our stuff, i can probably whip up a potion that could cure that food poisoning quickly, If I have the materials." Angel said getting up and stripping the last of the loins from the unicorn and wraping them in a small pouch for later use.

Angel walked over and picked up his bow, then procedded to rip the arrows out of the unicorns that he had shot, one of the arrows snapped so he through it aside, not having time to mend it. Repaired arrows didn't fly straight anyway.

(OOC: Crap sorry, I was thinking of another RP were i have alchemy And i hate to just post OOC so...)

Angel sat back and opened his journal again, while the others still decided if we should head back or continue butchering the unicorns. He scribbled down more writing, most likly about the battle.
At that he realized, "I don't know how to make potions," He shrugged it off, hoping the others would forget he said he could make one...

Genji grimaced and strode down the river to retrieve both his spears. They were thick with blood, and that made Genji wonder what kind of a victory this was. Every battle had a purpose, but Genji had not been too hungry. What was the point of this battle?

Elena walked off, grumbling and holding her stomach. Bastards. How dare they ignore her like that? She should just leave them all to rot. As if they'd go anywhere without a wizardess of her caliber...

She shook off the thought. That would be addressed later. Right now, she... *Urgh*

Jason started back behind Angel. But before he had left Genji he said, "You are the strong one as you have made it readily apparent, you can carry the stripps of meat by the thing I killed, snack on them save them for later I don't care. We may not be as strong as you but we're smarter, and more cuning." With that said Jason turned around and continued to walk away, no awaiting a response from Genji.

One possible solution...

Postby JoshuaDurron » Sat Feb 08, 2003 9:37 pm

When Elena and Angel arrived back at their campsite, they found something odd. Keldorn was not there. Most of his equipment and such still was, though, which could be taken as a sign that he had not gone far. The cramps in Elena's stomach had faded some, but were still most definitely there. She could move a little easier, and didn't feel like she would puke again any time soon. Still, she knew how to make a potion appropriate for this situation, and had the required materials...

"You sit down right over there." Angel said to Elena, pointing to a large tree trunk, covered in moss, but comfy at the least. "I'll go look for keldorn, he couldn't have gona too far..."

At that Angel skipped off into the woods, bow at hand, to make a circular path around the camp to see if he could notice any trails or leftovers.

Only, there were no signs of Keldorn around the camp. It was as if he had simply vanished into thin air, or grown wings and flown off. He was certainly not close enough for Angel to find simply by walking in a circle around the camp.

Angel returned to the camp, to no aveil of finding Keldorn. He shoke his head, shaking around his thoughts, hoping they'd fall into place. Where do he go...maybe i should start at the source... Angel looked around for any signs of disruption to teh wilderness, but with his limited tracking skills, found nothing and gave up. He leaned against a tree and waited for genji and jason to come back to see what they shoudl do.

Elena walked off, feeling a bit better, and starting searching in her pack. She wasn't going to stay like this, and surely she could whip up something to take care of it.. Searching in her bag, she took out what she needed, and something to use for keeping the mixtures intact. She walked off, away from the others, and started the alchemical process. Not quite the best for apparatus, but she had to make do.

Angel turned towards Genji, He stood, picking at his spear tip with his large finger.

((Since he hasn't posted in a while, I'm gonna move Blaze's character with the rest of you, so when you're ready to leave, just say so...))

Elena had no problem creating a potion that could cure stomach sickness, despite the crude surroundings she was working in. In fact, the process was successful enough that she would have one or two doses of the curing potion left after she cured herself. Something that might come in handy.

Carlae returned to the camp, after everyone else - having been shocked at the brutality of the fight she had walked back slowly, wondering whether she really wanted to be here.

She had indeed noticed that Elena had food poisoning, and she thought she had just the spell to help her, so as soon as she returned to camp she said as much.

'Elena, I have a spell to get rid of your food poisoning. Should I use it?'
