Ethra's pursuit of the thief was becoming sort of boring, but then again...

Good things come to those who wait. Or strike swiftly, but that's another matter.

"That's okay. Well there are only two ways he could've gone. Back to the town, or to Reg's. He probably went to Reg's. I know the way; I had a lot of parties in Reg. They have a good tavern. Anyway we she get going quickly. Are you tired after all that running?” Kite said as he looked at the surrounding foliage.

Verios grinned as he left the forest, Regs now in plain view. He picked up his pace some so he would get there faster. Saried followed suit picking up his pace as well. "So Verios, where are we heading?" Verios glanced down to Saried as they neared the town gates, "Gaia's Cleft."

Saried growled at the mention of that place but he nodded. "Very well...."

Verios smirked and slowed down as they entered the town town gates, it was only a matter of time before they could change servers, unless someone was going to be bold enough to try and form a party with him, they would have one hard time following him.

"Here's some coffee., when you get tired drink it. All of the cafine should perk you back up. Now we must get to Reg's soon. 'OOC He might switch servers. 'IC Let's go." Kite said.

Kite started to run, and beat his wings. He got back up to his previous speed.

"So that's where you're going? I would think a power gamer like you would of checked out that place by now."
Ethra smiled, "Nice dog by the way, quite powerful too... so mind if I run WITH you rather then just tag along behind you and not get any XP.. not that I rally mind not getting much XP. So what'da say?"

Verios glanced over to the woman addressing him and grimaced. Stopping he turned to face her, now maybe 20 feet from the Login Platform. "Why have you been following me?" He placed the end of his spear on the ground in front of him. "And I have been there before..... I..." He seemed to trail off as if trying hard to remember something. ".....Its... Its none of your business!"

Saried looked up at her snarling slightly. He then quickly turned his head looking up at Verios.

Verios looked down at his chest, clutching the amulet underneath his trenchcoat with his left hand. After a moment or two he looked back up at her, "How strong are you...?" Saried looked back to Ethra again snarling still, but not as much.

Kite and Alyrra saw the town as they got through some brush.

Kite reached the town gates, and spotted Verious talking with a woman. He looked back at Alyrra.

Verios shook his head. "Sorry, but unless you plan to pay me, I ain't forming no party with you." He then ran around her up to about 5 feet from the platform. Saried running around her as well stopping right by it.

Stopping by Saried he glanced at her once more. "Well? Last chance Missy." He shouldered his spear once more placing a hand on his hip.

Zephyr shot Verios a glance. "Pay you to group? I don't even know if that's legal." The Masterblade jumped to his feet. "I'll group with you if you think you can keep up with me. Besides, I've been wanting to check Gaia's Cleft for a while now, but I heard some horror stories about what's inside. Supposedly there's a dragon that eats Blade Lords for breakfast and makes a light snack of a thousand newbies between then and lunch."

Verios gave Zephyr a quick look over. He shifted his spear to the other shoulder and ran his right hand through his hair. "It's perfectly legal, Its called mercenary work. Its a one time deal. If you think all those rumors are true I don't see how you could possibly have gotten as far as you have."

Saried bared his fangs and snarled at Zephyr. "Lets just go Verios, none of them are worth your time." Verios glanced down to Saried and smiled. "You are right about that Saried." With that, Verios turned to face the platform.

"Judging power by levels is a mistake I didn't think a thief would make. I suppose I misjudged you." Ethra took out a small brown sack from a pouch. She tossed them at Verios, "If it's money you want here. (There should be a small fortune in there, like 5000-10000g). Money's money, fun's fun. Let's go." Ethra began to make her way towards the entrance.

And here comes the Druid.

Unread postby Dragon Sage007 » Sun Nov 10, 2002 8:08 pm

Interrupting the conversation, the druid Sorune has finally found Verios.
"Verios! I need to talk to you. It's urgent. Madam, if you would excuse us..." Sorune dragged Verios to where he was certain the woman could not hear him, ignoring Verios' protests.
"Verios, I want to know what is going on. First, you are unable to log off, and say something odd, about how Reyta is more than just a game. Then, when I go to find you, I find blood on the streets. Blood, which is not supposed to happen, even in quests. And if a person can bleed here, they can die. I know that it all ties to you, and I want answers before you leave. Also, keep in mind that I will follow you until your dying day until I get these answers. I want to know what is going on, what it has to do with you, and why." The druid had fire in his eyes, and seemed to be staring directly into Verios' soul, through his soul, boring through it.
~I will not be deterred through his stubborness. This all ties to him, somehow. And I want to know how.~
"And nothing you say can stop me from getting answers. I have a feeling that all our lives depend upon it. Even those who are logged off."

Reht smiled slightly. The druid had a flare for intimidation that he liked. He immidiately turned to Zepher and the female theif who had been tracking Verios, intending to stop them if they interfered. For now, he would let the peacekeeper have all the fun.

Kite saw the comotion as everyone surrounded Verios. I knew he was popular, but damn. Kite walked over inbetween the crowd surounding Verios and the log on platform. He looked back at Alyrra again.

"Would you like some drinks to replenish your self?" Kite said to Alyrra.

By this point, Reht had drawn his blade and was dispersing the crowd using it's threatening tripple points. He happened upon Kite and Alyrra.
"Hm. We meet again. This time, I'm going to have to ask you to leave. We have official Watcher's buisness going on here."

Ethra sighed, murmured a few brief words, and jumped over the person that was blocking her way to Verios. "Hey Druid, you know it's not nice to keep secrets. What's so important that it can't wait? Trying to steal him away from me? heh, well whatever, but might I ask why?"

Most of the lollygaggers taken care of, Reht reached one hand out and caught hold of the idiot who had leaped over him, yanking her away.
"Now now, it's not nice to interupt the Watcher when he's working."

Verios stared silently at the Druid not saying a word. He simply smiled and shrugged. "How should I know?" He paused momentarily as Saried rushed over to Verios snarling at the Sorune. "Frankly, I'd like to know why everyone makes such a big deal out of seeing something different." He quietly shifted his spear on his shoulder a bit. "For all you know the blood may not have even come from me." He waved his index finger at the druid taking a few step backwards. "You are a fool, to think you among anyone here can follow me." He broadly grinned and waved his hand pressing off away from the Druid towards the Login platform once more.

Saried growled angrily at the Druid before grumbling out something to him. "If you want answers, go to Gaia's Cleft. If you make it to the end, perhaps he will talk to you." Verios whistled as he arrived back at the Login platform, Saried turning and glancing back at the druid once more before bolting back to Verios's side.

Verios smiled at the druid momentarily, then patting Saried on the head for keeping him where he was. Raising his spear into the air facing the swirling rings, he glanced back at the druid once more before being enveloped in 5 red rings, disappearing from view along with Saried.

"Teh what's up with you? What makes the watchers so much more important." Then she noticed Verios leaving, "Hey wait for me!" Ethra dashed towards the rings turned to the rest of the people there and did a cute wave, then vanished.

I hope this guy remembered that I gave him some money, teh, not like I can't get through this myself.

"OK, Druid, what's the next step? Learn anything interesting from him?"

".....Sir, I believe that my money has just been well-spent. We're going to Gaia's cleft. I don't like it, but that's where we are going. Any supplies that you recommend?" The Druid said this quietly, yet intensely.

Verios stood still at the entrance to Gaia's Cleft silently waiting for his employer. He faced the direction of the Login platform for the server and tapped his foot impatiently. "C'mon lady, I ain't got all day...."

Saried sat at the Login platform quietly, waiting for the female to arrive. "She had best hurry...." He looked over towards Gaia's Cleft and Verios whom stood at the mouth of the dungeon. "This should get interesting."

Reht took a moment to check his inventory. A number of bottles and flasks dangled from inside his coat, and he took great care in counting them.
"We're well stocked on healing potions and such, 'specially if you carry any yourself. But magical restoratives are a little slim. I don't use much myself, and what I do have has been used fairly heavily recently. We might want to get some of those. Also, you might want to get some charms for warding off monsters, so we can move faster. And I'm Reht. Names will help us find eachother faster if we get split up."

Verios glanced at her calmly and chuckled. "I didn't need to worry about weaknesses last time I was here. I just plowed my way through. Although with you along I will have to be somewhat careful."

Saried hopped over to Verios's side quietly. "Are we not going to use names?" Verios glanced at Saried grunting. "Fine, I'm Verios as you should know, and this." He motioned to Saried who was sitting down. "Is Saried, my personal guardian."

Verios pulled out his spear and shouldered it glancing back to the woman as he took a step inside. "Don't be slacking now." Saried quickly followed behind Verios.

Ethra's pace was swift and soundless, she was small for a reason, though it wasn't for thieving. "You can call me Ethra, and don't worry, if I just have to plow through, I can, I just prefer to know my enemy, just in case..."

Power of magic that heads my plight,
When I be in peril, give it might.

Ethra gave a slight smile, and wondered what she would be witness to in this cave.

Kite and Alyrra walked into the pub. Kite sat down at the bar and ordered a shot of rum.

"We should get a lot of potions and restoratives before we leave for Gaia's Cleft. At least I over herd that's where questions were to be answered." Kite said looking at Alyrra.

Kite threw the shot to the back of his throat. He looked at Alyrra.

Verios walked onwards slowly glancing from left to right awaiting the first attack. He knew it would come soon, as it did when he first came. Saried followed along by Ethra watching her back, "Verios, something is coming....."

Verios nodded slightly, swinging his shoulder off his spear gripping it tightly with both hands. "All right.... Two Ogres, shouldn't be too hard." Saried growled behind them angrily at something. "Make that three Verios....." Verios glanced back at the third and grumbled. "You handle that one, I'll get one of the two in front of us!" He glanced over to Ethra smirking. "You take the one on the left, I got right." Launching off his feet he lunged at the ogre beginning to exchange blows.

Saried meanwhile was circling the one behind them confusing it. "Dumb beast..." He then began to jump up and claw at it every now and then.

Ethra grinned, "Here's to bloodshed." She began to glow an eerie black, and unsheathed the sword with the black jewel on it. Within seconds she was with trhe ogre on the left, exhanging blows with it, dodging many attacks, and countering nearly all of them. Her attacks were a bit weaker than Verios', but she was still holding her own.

Not bad for someone who's only killred and butchered enoguh to get to level 32 huh?

Verios chuckled slightly at her as he thrust his spear forward once more running the ogre through the chest, him disappearing into small particles. "No problem..."

Saried growled and snarled wildly biting into the ogres club. He bite down hard snapping the club in to small pieces. Then laughing he leapt up at the ogres face, coming down upon it with a huge claw slash across the face, and down the chest. The second ogre vanished as well, defeated and returning to small bits of data. "Now we wait for the girl to finish..."

Ethra sighed, "Alright I'll put some effort some more effort into this." She positioned her short sword so that it would cut through the chest and pass through the heart, she caleld once again upon her magic. In a moment she had gone from existing in front of the ogre to behind it, and the sword had appearently followed that path, because the ogre dematerialized soon after. "Well if you'e in a rush tell me and I'll get done quicker."

Verios shot a glance back at her silently. "We should be at the end of this floor soon...." As if on cue, they arrived at the stairs. "After here is where it may get somewhat... well.. difficult...." He grinned shifting his spear to the other shoulder.

Saried growled as they began to climb the stairs. "You mean the dragons are on the next 3 floors? Verios nodded at Saried. "Them among other things..." He shook his head and continued down the stairs untill they were now on the 2nd floor. "Well... From what happened last time I was here, it shouldn't be long untill one shows up..."

Again as if on cue, A large red Dragon, taking up nearly all of the cave ahead appeared infront of them flame puffing out of his nostrils. "Hmm... They werent nearly this big last time." Shrugging, Verios flung his spear on his shoulder clutching it with both hands. "Okay, here we go!" In a blur he began to launch attacks at the dragons under belly, avoiding his flame spewing head with ease. Meanwhile Saried was keeping his claws occupied by snapping and snarling at them. As well as scratching at them from time to time. "You gonna help us here?" Verios yelled at Ethra as he continued slashing at the dragons underbelly.

Alyrra nodded. "If you say so. What is Gaia's Cleft like?" she asked, sipping her drink carefully.

I don't feel any buzz... I never tried drinking in real life, but maybe you CAN'T get drunk in the game? Or maybe my body here is better at metabolizing it...
