"Fine then. I'll get everything ready tonight, then we'll leave tomorrow morning for the ruins. Some questions though, if you don't mind," Seph said, crossing his arms. "What kind of forces are guarding these ruins, and why?"

"The forces? Fancy you ask that.. contributed soldiers from each region across this continent guard this Tower for purposes apparently unknown.. but they seem to guard well, as there has never been a single person to make it to the Tower AND get inside.

Seph frowned slightly. Heh, nothing is ever painless, is it? "I see. There's no backing out now, I will find a way past them. Any other interesting bits of information you want to share?"

"Besides the fact that the Tower, as stated, is a good 25 miles away and is said to have been at the spot of a major holy war centuries ago, no." The rabite smirked. "Since you're willing enough, in addition to the promised supplies, I can also give you a map leading to the area..."

"Good. Now, better go find what my new companion is doing, before he gets himself in further trouble. I'm beginning to question my decision to bring him along..."

Seph looked around the inn, trying to find Molo. He was certainly eager to get away. He wondered if he could get rid of him, if he began to endanger the mission.

"You and me both.." The rabite chuckled and waited until Seph had left before pulling out the old map detailing the path to the Tower. "Now, if only I could assure myself that these two fools won't die on the way.. this opportunity is far too good to pass up..!"

"Hey, there you are!" Molo dropped from the ceiling onto Seph's shoulders. If the red master hadn't had as good reflexes (or shoulder muscles, for that matter) the hyper 14-year old would have sent him sprawling onto the ground. Instead, he sat calmly on Seph, now irritated. "So, where is this tower thing?" he asked. "Are there monsters?"

"Gah! What the?!" Seph exclaimed, nearly falling from surprise. He glared up at the person now seated on his shoulders. "Get off!" he said as he dumped Molo uncerimoniously on the ground. It's going to be an interesting trip, that's for sure...

"Listen. The tower is about 25 miles from here. We should be able to make it there in a day's travel. No monsters. However, the rabite says that it is heavily guarded by forces from all around the surrounding areas." He paused, cocking his head slightly. "Realize that this isn't going to be a simple stroll. Death may await us; you can still stay here if you want."

"Oh, don't worry." Molo grinned, his eyes lit with energy. "I'll be fine! Really!" he patted Seph on the back, the red mage getting the feeling that there had to be more to this kid. . .really, how could someone be so dense!?

"But why are there so many forces around the tower?" Molo said, putting some snacks and candy into a bag and tying it onto his coat. "Is there something in there?"

"And that person will be YOU!" The enemy Rivan screamed, Jumping into the air and plunging down at Okan with lance. Okan quickly Jumped himself, angling his leap backwards.

"I'm not here to kill a member of my own faction! Go home before I make you regret your actions!" Okan growled as he landed.

The enemy Rivan simply charged forward and made an attack, which was blocked evenly with Okan's lance.

Seph eyed the kid warily. We'll see if he still feels that way when we actually arrive.

"How the hell should I know?" he replied. "The innkeep claims that he doesn't know either. It is irrelevent anyway. All we have to do is get in and back out without them killing us." He tried to say this in an easygoing manner, like one who's faced a dozen similar situations. Below the surface, however, his mind was already furiously attempting to come up with any sort of plan to make that goal a reality.

"Well!" he said, hoisting the bag onto his shoulders. "Do we know which way we're going??" he pulled out a bag of Swedish Fish and started chewing on one. "want a fishie?"

A group of Rivan Dragoons were waiting for the two at the very edge of town, lances readied.

One of them proceeded only to growl out, "Surrender or die" as the group marched forward towards Seph and Molokidan.

"I don't have anything on me!" Molo said, showing them the food inside the bag, and then a pair of chopsticks and the pack of Swedish Fish in his pockets. He patted down his clothes. . .he was telling the truth, there didn't seem to be anything on him. He winked at Seph. "But really, what are we in trouble for?!"

Seph slowly raised his hands in the air and turned to the dragoon speaking for the group. Conspiring? Ancient dragons? He didn't know what the hell these dragoons were talking about.

"I think you are mistaken," he said non-threateningly. "We are nothing but simple traveler's passing through. Now let us pass."

"Simple travelers? Not quite. We already know the ability that you have," The apparent leader spoke out, pointing to Seph, "And as for you.. well.. we don't know." Referring to Molokidan. "But we have already been given a verdict as to your fates, so come along with us now, before we force you to come with us."

"A verdict given to our fates?" Seph asked incredulously. "What is my crime? I don't even know who you are!"

Seph doubted he was going to be able to talk his way out of this one. He glanced at Molo, wondering if he could fight, if it came to that. He wasn't prepared to face whatever sentence had been arbitrarily placed on him, but the odds of victory against such a number of dragoons did not favor them...

Molo pulled the chopsticks out of his pocket, and held them poised in his hand, as if he was getting ready to eat some rice. "When I move. . ." he said. "Back me up with some magic. I think we can take them!" he smiled, winking.

He looked at the dragoons. "Misters, I don't know what we're in trouble for. . .but I'm going to make you wish you didn't come after us!"

He tossed one chopstick to his other hand, and in a flash, they enlarged to long, thin katanas without hilts. They had simple wooden handles, and long blades about three-four feet long each. He gave Seph a goofy grin, and then jumped into the air, barreling down on the dragoons.

Seph cursed under his breath. It seemed the choice had been made for him, he could only go along and hope for the best now. If backup is what the kid wanted, that's what he was going to get. His cloak flew back as one hand dropped to his sword and the other shot out, pointing toward the lead dragoon. A moment of concentration, then a ball of flame materialized, flickering at his fingers. Another gesture, and it streaked toward his targeted dragoon.

All of the Dragoons seemed to take Molokidan's weapon formation as an obvious hint, and they all immediately Jumped off and away. All five went in random directions, apparently disappearing in the skyline above..

The skyline remained empty for a moment until one of the Dragoons landed, picked up Molokidan's body, and Jumped off again.

One way or another, Okan had fallen. It didn't help that about three more Rivans had joined the one he had been fighting earlier, and all four had ganged on up, more or less beating him into a bloody pulp.

One of the Dragoons snickered as he pulled him up off of the ground. "Not so strong now, are we? So much for your quest."

"But.. why?!" Okan coughed, attempting to raise his hands to strike the Dragoon in front of him.

"If you really must know.. it's been decided that your little split in the entire Riva faction isn't necessary to our expansion across this world. All of you are expendable. And since you were sent out first, you will be the first of them to die!"

"No!" Okan growled. "I won't allow this... this is an unhonorable course of action!"

"Shut it." The dragoon slammed him hard to the ground, and Okan hit the ground, but he still managed to gain the strength to get up to his feet and tackle the Dragoon in front of him.

"Oof!"

Three other Dragoons came forward and knocked him away. "This one's persistent, isn't he?!"

"Yeah.. 'd probably be impossible to kill him! He'd just keep getting up and attacking us."

"Hell, let's throw him into that Prison underneath the ground.. y'know, that one that's somewhere near the Tower thing. That Prison is said to be inescapable.. so, to tell the truth, 'twould be the same punishment as death!"

"Heh heh.. good idea!"

Seph waited apprehensively after Molo's abduction, sword in hand. The way these dragoons fought... how could one combat something that simply dropped from the air behind you? He shuddered as he squinted up into the sky, preparing himself if another dragoon dropped in behind him.

Suddenly, from below Seph, a lance stabbed up through the dirt, swinging at his legs and quickly knocking him down. From out of the ground sprang a Dragoon, lance readied, as two of the other Dragoons landed on each of Seph's sides.

Seph hit the ground hard from the surprise attack from below, landing on his back and sending up a cloud of dust. "Tricky bastards, aren't you?" he mangaged to get out between groans and pants. Making a quick mental note to blame all of this on Molo later if he had the chance, he slowly looked around at the surrounding dragoons.

"All right, you have me. What now?"

"You will come with us to a special prison that has been designed for your kind." One of the Dragoons growled, jerking Seph up onto his feet.

"They deserve it." Another one of them mumbled. "Especially for attempting to enter upon.."

"Shut it!" Another one of the Dragoons growled. "We're moving, now!"

And with that, the Dragoon squad hoisted Seph further up and Jumped off with him, out of Zozo..

"Hope you enjoy it." The Dragoon guard post snickered as Seph was shoved into his own personal cell. It was somewhat spacey -- for a prison cell -- and beyond the cracked brick walls and tarnished floor was a plain board nailed onto the wall and a pot at the very back intended for..

"@#%$!" Another Dragoon behind him growled. "Can't we kill the other one?!" Molokidan was inside his cell, opposite of Seph's, and was taunting the Dragoon with a random fish that he still somehow had on his person. "He's annoying the hell out of me!"

"No! We leave them for later judgment." The guard post barked. "Leave them to rot for now with Okan. We will have time for them later." With that, the post departed, with the other Dragoon by him.

"Good of you to notice," Seph commented dryly. "Perhaps next time you will think before charging a large group of irritable, flying soldiers." Seph then turned his attention to his cell. He recalled one of the dragoons saying that his cell was "special" in some way... testing of his new boundries was in order.

Stepping forward to the bars of the cell, he glanced to both sides to make sure the coast was clear, then placed his hands on one of the bars. Closing his eyes and concentrating, he gradually increased the heat around the bar, hoping to melt an escape from the cell.

"My chopsticks. . .where are they?" Molo groped around, trying to find the legendary Chopstick Katanas.

"Oh man. . .if they get in the wrong hands. . ."

Then, Molo felt his head, and happily pulled out two chopsticks from the monster of a haircut. He grinned, transforming them. "I wonder if I can chop through. . ." he said, eyeing the bar intently.
