"Can't survive on bread and water."

Justine gave out a energetic "YEE HAW!"

"Well then boys - and M'Lady" he said with a tip of his hat. "Lets get going!"

He gave another whisper to Magdin while the others did what-ever it was they were doing. "The bounty thing is defiantly not bringing in the cattle. A big simple block like him can be dangerous though. . . I'm more intrested in what made him follow that religion. . . he just doesn't strike me as a priest."

They walked towards the ship docks, Ash began to wonder...

IM: Should I send a message to... ChristyDia?

He looked over at Yarrie, a strange feeling came over him, he felt whole again. He had been longing for the feeling Yarrie gave him oh so long ago...

But... what of ChristyDia... her face, her kindness, she was always patient... always caring...

IM: I get myself into some great @#%$ at times don't I?

Ash knew the world would have to come first... then he'd have to sort this thing out with Yarrie and ChristyDia.

Magdin looked at the docks as they left the bar. He had always had a fondness of the sea, dreamt of soaring over it like an angel, roaring past vast cityscapes with incredible speed.

"So then, commander, what's our mode of transportation? Boat? Airship? Seahorse?"

The old man chuckled to himself, because even though it wasn't funny, he was crazy.

Deinar, Kehlan in tow, followed Ash and the others silently to the docks.

Kehlan was looking around, an odd smile on his face. Having come from a port town himself, he enjoyed the smell of the sea air, and smiled as he watched the bustle of the area, quite similar to the activities of his own hometown docks.

Mind you, Kehlan had never been on a ship before, and he was eager to experience the novelty of it.

As Justine wondered through the crowd a loud shout carried itself over the sounds that envopled the dock.

"JUSTINE!!"

Justine turned around calmy, as he had reconized the voice straight away.

"CATCH!!" Justine ran over and gave a friendly hand shake to the man who just screamed out Justine's name. He was a tall man, almost as tall as Justine was, minus the hat, but had long black hair and was dressed as a normal man would dress. By his side he held a sword that had two blades in its hilt.

"Jeese! I was wondering if you were coming or not. . . find it hard to find a decent spot huh? " Catch looked down, almost like he was embarressed. Justine slapped the man around the back and dragged him to the group, who hadn't heard the quick comment of Justines

"Partners, here's Catch, a good mate 'O mine, very good with a sword too. He'll be coming along." Catch looked at Justine puzzeled but didn't seem to argue.

Catch bowed to the group and as he did so a strange mark could be seen on his forhead, which looked like a very strange magical rune of some sort.

Magdin turned and looked at the new fellow that had joined them. He only gave the rune a glance, but in that time he knew that it was no marking he had ever seen before.

"Justine... what will become of your delightful horse, lad?"

Justine looked at the old timer and smiled, giving himself some time to think of an answer. Catch seemed to want to say something though.

"Well in fact I'm . . ." The man suddenly stopped in mid sentance and looked briefly like he was in pain. He stopped speaking then, and rubbed his side. The side Justines elbow was very close to.

"Irvine is a smart enough horse to know what to do when I ain't here, he tends to keep to himself. . . and he has a habit of turning up you know?" Justine normally didn't even bother hiding Catch's "secret" but it just didn't seem right for someone to find out this quickly.

That and Catch would probably spill the "secret" pretty soon anyway.

Catch looked hurt at Irvine but shrugged, he then turned to Magdin.

"It's a pleasure to meet you sir Magdin, I hope our adventure is filled with excitement and fun." He offered his hand to shake with.

Justine slapped Catch's back.

"Well, now thats all been sorted, lets get going then! Time for the adventure to begin."

With that Justine followed everyone to the ship, leaving Catch behind with Magdin. Catch looked towards the oldman.

"I'm not that mysterious, just a friend of Justine's. Met him a few years ago and such." Catch stopped there, guessing Justine hadn't told much about himself or what they do. "Course, you kinda a mystery yourself right? An old man like you going out for an adventure and all." Catch began to follow Justine and the group.

"Maybe we'll all get to know each other as this adventure goes on?" I know of someone who'd like to get to know that elf girl a lot better. . . .

Deinar and Kehlan had followed Ash and Yarrie towards his boat. Suspicions about Catchs true nature didn't even cross the mind of the simple priest. Deinar, on the other hand, had cast a glance over his shoulder at Catch, the more intelligent of the duo suspecting not was all as it seemed.

They arrived at the boat. It was a pretty large vessel, but it would be enough for the trip. The captain of the ship walked down towards them, "Yah... this place you want to go... it has rough waters... ya sure bout dis?" he asked as he looked at the number of people behind Ash and Yarrie.

Ash grinned, "Of course I'm sure. Any damages to the boat will be compensated for and covered when we return." he replied.

The captain looked at the number of people again, "This all yah?" he asked. Yarrie nodded with a big smile on her face. The captain seemed to be calmed by her attitude, "Then let's set sail then." he said with a weak grin.

Justine leaned on the ships mast, letting the breeze of the sea blow around him. The boat was a good one, though not great and he has a feeling they would make it there without any trouble at all.

Catch was trying to think of some sort of conversation to spark off with his new comrades in arms, but he was having a lot of trouble.

In the end he simple went up to Kehlan and asked him the most basic question he could think of.

"So, what religion do you actually follow then?" Catch wasn't a religious man and knew very little about such matters and honestly cared little for them either but wanted to find something to talk about . . .

Kehlan turned to Catch, looking down at the far smaller man.

"Me? Oim an Ashuran, followin' teh goddess o 'ealin'."

He pointed at the symbol of Ashura on his robes, grinning widely with pride.

Catch gave an embarressed smile. Anybody who knew about this sort of thing would have spotted that easily so he just clearly showed he knew nothing about the god this man followed.

"Well, eh, I know this is strange but, umm, I'm afraid I know little about what you're talking about. . . I'm not very familur with that goddess.
"An Ashuran you said? Ummmm, are they're many people following this goddess?"

Catch could probably guess the goddess name, considering he's a "Ashuran" but he didn't want to, just in case it ended up being something completely different and he affended the big man.

Kehlan looked upwards in deep thought. There had been a good few at the temple back home, put apart from that, he had no idea of the Ashuran numbers.

"Werl, I think so." he said slowly, uncertain of his words.

The group got onto the ship, and the Boat Captain pulled up the plank and raised the anchor. His small crew ran out and opened the sails and pretty soon they were off.

Yarrie loved boats, she always had. She ran over to Ash, "Hey Ash! Remember when we went on that boat to the Warrior Tournament on that island?" she asked, obviously very excited.

Ash grinned, "Yeah... we met Goldor there. After I kicked his ass in the tournament." Ash said. He turned around and looked over towards Doma as they sailed away.

Magdin found a bench set against one side of the boat and eased himself onto it. The warm sunshine flowed down into him, and he felt like he was flying again. He smiled softly. The world, oh, such a world to live in! It was grand, soon to be surrounded by waves all about him, to be born into such ignorance of land would be bliss!

His cane dropped on the floor beside the bench and he leaned back, yanking out a pipe and lighting a small bundle of smoking grass.

"This is my perfect world. The mountains are no place for such a man. The sea is my haven."

Justine brought out his small hamonica and started to play a little tune as he relaxed in the open sea air. Truth was, he prefurred the open fields and being on fry land, but he knew a nice calming atmoshpere when there was one.

Besides, relaxing was a hell of a lot more fun then actually helping the sailors run there ship . . .

Catch looked up to the big man, though not quite as much as the others had to as both him and justine were quite tall, and relised the man probably wasn't the person to ask detailed information about a religion.

Of course, sometimes when a simple fellow actually gets into a religion they really et into it and memorise everything they need to, and don't need to, and follow the religious texts to the letter.

"I see, well, prehaps I'll ask about it some other time."

He tired another tread of conversation, just because the big man had sparked an intrest in him.

"This your first time out to sea?"

Kehlan nodded.

"Yer. Soin many ships back in meh hometown, but ne'er sailed on one of em."

Kehlans eyes were directed out so sea, taking in the endless view of water, stretching off into the horizon. He'd seen this on the shore before, but it felt strangely different now, as he stood on the ship.

Catch looked over where Kahlan was looking, thinking he might be looking at something but all he saw was the sea.

"I'm not much of a sea man myself. . . give me the open fields over water anyday. . ." Catch remembered the lush green fields of his home as the blue sky arched over them and the wind blew a gentle breeze. The fields gave off a quiet, peaceful feeling in his mind but he also remembered the grim truth, and how looks are almost always decieving.

Rough Waters Ahead...

Unread postby Ash Fanrico » Sun Jun 09, 2002 4:14 am

Some Hours later... Noon... on the high seas...

The Lookout in the Crow's Nest spotted something in the distance. "Cap'n!! There Rough Waters be ahead!!!" he cried as he pointed North towards their destination...

"Allright lads, brace yerself yah?" ordered the captain as he directed the boat towards the pinpointed destination on the map.

The crew got ready for some tough water and possible large waves. The captain walked over to the railing, he called out to Ash and Co. "Ya might wanna hold onto something. We're nearin' dose rough waters!" he hollered as he resumed his position at the helm, steering the boat towards it's destiney.

Before... at the Island Temple...

The group came upon a long room with various pictures and symbols on the walls. "Stop. We shall rest for now." he ordered as his group came to a halt.

Dante lowered the young Elf onto the ground. He looked around.

IM: Silly little drawings on the wall and he wants to read them.

Diego dropped Whelan onto the ground, the young warrior was still bound-up. Slophyl, who was finally able to see a bit, looked around the room. "What'd we stop for?" she asked.

Scrow, who was still a bit irritated from before in his brief encounter with Whelan walked up next to the Whip-wielding woman. "The Master is reading and expanding his knowledge of what we are trying to obtain. Do not hinder his work child." he said as he scooted along the floor making sure to glare at Whelan a bit as he passed.

Dante looked at his travelling companions. He had an unmistakeable glare in his look.

IM: These fools and their stupid quest.*looks around the room* What could one honestly learn from such simple drawings?

Jaggie walked up behind him, "Not liking the decor I see... what's on your mind Dante?" asked the Drow in a taunting manner.

Dante turned and glared, "How to dismember you in ninety nine different ways if you don't leave me alone!" he hissed as he folded his arms and went back to his thoughts.

Trellayne was busy studying the different drawings, symbols and writing on the walls...

Rough Waters Ahead...?!

Unread postby Nick Shogun » Sun Jun 09, 2002 5:14 am

"Grrr... this does not seem good at all," said Magdin, grimacing as he faced the dark storm clouds ahead. Rain had begun to patter upon the deck, and as the sailors tried to put everything in its place before they became the receivers of a waterbound tackle all Magdin could see was pain.

The color washing thru his eyes made everything seem red. He growled. "I've never taken a bad storm as a blessin' when I've gotta be going someplace. Not that I'm suggestin' foul play, but we gotta be careful."

He grabbed a rope and tied it around his waist, then attached the other end to the bench stuck to the decks floor.

"I'm ready," he shouted to the others.

Ash and Yarrie ran over to the side that Magdin was on, they both tied ropes to their wastes and to their wrists. Ash gestured towards the others, "C'mon over here!" he hollered.

IM: Have to keep us all together, so we can make a better and easier head count should something happen...

While all of this was going on....

Trellayne was busy studying the drawings and writing on the large room's walls.

Scrow was right next to his master, "What does it tell Master?" he asked. Trellayne pointed at a group of symbols, "Look here..." he said as he pointed, the symbols were of a large winged creature standing in the middle of a small group of little people, lines appearing around the creature indicated something. "This... is Espylocopa. In this picture they are summoning him." he said as he walked back.

He pointed to a piece of Elven writing, "This... this speaks of a Great Summoner named Riktoff. Somehow after countless years of work and study, he came upon an extremely powerful incantation...." he said walked over further towards some more symbols and writing, "He was a renowned and celebrated summoner worldwide. He could summon... just about anything. Then one day his travles begot him *points to a picture of a scroll* a document from many years before." he said as he walked closer towards the previous elvish words.

"The document was in a Black Box in some ancient ruins. The box had a picture of a skull on it. But Riktoff did not heed it's warnings." he continued as he walked back towards the first picture he had pointed to, "After all of his work he finally deciphered the writings. Thus *points to the large winged creature picture* Espylocopa was summoned. Well if you read up on your history and ancient documents, Espylocopa was out of control. His summon spell became forbidden and with a joint effort between a few races, his spell was locked away." Trellayne said.

Scrow nodded, "Why do you wish to summon him then Master?" asked the old man. Trellayne turned around and smirked, "To shape the world as I see fit. To wipe out all of the chaos, and all of the ill-logic. To create a perfect Utopia under MY rule." he said as he went back to reading.

Dante stood there, it had been a couple of hours since they settled in this room.

IM: What does this fool hope to accomplish with us all standing around here?

Some of his travelling companions were asleep. The only ones awake were Diego, since he was watching the prisoners, and of course Scrow who was busy being Trellayne's little servant.

Jaggie and Slophyl were sleeping. Jaggie had suggested that they sleep together... but Slophyl's not answering and cracking her whip near his feet kinda gave her answer for her.

Dante was growing impatient. He wanted to get this over with. His rage only grew as the time went by...

Kehlan stood around, oblivious to the threat, while Deinar secured himself in a similar fashion. The priest had never been on the high seas, and didn't know about waves sweeping men overboard.

Of course, he wasn't really at risk. His immense size and bulk would probably allow him to take all but the largest waves head on, and remain standing.

Justine watched as the big man didn't move. Though he was standing firm now he knew that it was probably going to get a lor rougher.

Disreguarding his own safety he loosed his robe and ran over to the big man and grabbed him by the robe and started to pull him, though he of course couldn't move him at all.

"Get ya big ass over here partner! We's gotta tie ourselfs to the boat least we get thrown off!" A unguarded moment meant Justine was thrown to his feet, the only thing saving him was the fact he was holding onto Kehlan.

GMing Action!!

Unread postby Ash Fanrico » Tue Jun 11, 2002 10:41 pm

Water surged over the boat, nearly taking the two with it. Barrels of gunpowder, fish and other assorted things were tossed all over the deck. Ash and the others strained to see what had happened to their companions. The priest and the gunman were close to the railing of the ship.

The deck was slick as hell and everyone was thoroughly soaked. Ash knew if another wave hit those two would be swept off into the murky waters.

Ash couldn't stand there and let this happen. He undid his rope and rushed (more like slid) over to them, taking a good bit of rope with him. When got over there he helped the two up. While tying them to the railing, he checked on them, "How you two doing?" he asked.

Ash looked over his shoulder, as another large wave was approaching their position. Before the wave crashed down the last thing anyone heard was Ash screaming, "INCOMING!!!!"

The Cap'n was clutching the Wheel with all his might as his crew held on. The waters all around them were wild and raging. When the second wave hit the Cap'n almost lost control of his ship.

Last thing Ash remembered before blacking out was hitting the railing at the front of the ship and the feeling of massive amounts of water roaring past him.

Yarrie got up, she was very cold and wet. But that didn't bother her. She got up from where she had been ducking down and tried to spot Ash. She finally spotted him way over at the front of the ship, near the mast.

The boat was going up and down, almost tossed by the waves. The water was splashing up onto the decks and floorboards around them all. There seemed no end to it...

The Lookout, who had been sitting above in the Crow's Nest this whole time, yelled out, amidst the raging waters, "Cap'n!! LAND HO!!!!" he hollered as he pointed at a large island a few clicks away from the ship.

The raging waters seemed to subside and were calm again. Yarrie untied the ropes around her wrist and waist, and ran out towards Ash who was out cold on the deck.

He had been lucky, he could've easily been thrown out into the sea. She looked up at the Forbidden Isle, they had made it.

(OOC: Now just post about your character getting up from the last wave and we'll head on out.)

Catch untied himself from the mast and looked around. The last thing he had seen was the giant wave swallow Justine from his site, then he had clung onto the mast with all his might as the ship had rocked back and forth.

He looked around the deck, a hint of panic in him. He couldn't see Justine anywhere.

Well Boy . . . See where your life has left you now?

Father? What are you doing on the boat?

Watching you drown like the sorry piece of crap I knew you'd turn out to be

Drown? I'm dieing then?

Not a moment too soon! You've done your mother a great injustice boy! She turns in her grave everytime her spirit even thinks of you.

Leave mother out of this, Father. You would never understand me. She at least loved me.

Loved you? She hated you! Her face would turn sour at the mention of your name! She died because of you! The grief of what you are killed her!

NO! She was ill, it was . . .

Look at you! Drowning out to sea on some god-forsaken adventure! When are you going to grow up boy?! When are you going to be a man!?

. . . .

The words ring true boy?

Shut up

You die without a family boy! You die alone!

Shut up!

Your life was a waste!

SHUT UP!

I should never of had a son.

Justines body sank slowly into the sea, a torn priests piece of clothing in his hand, still clinging to life but slowly losing its fragile grip.

Kehlan, rising from his knees, looked around, noticing that his robe was torn. He then remembered something...something about someone hanging on to him.

Then he spotted the missing piece of his robe in the water. Right next to Justine's hand, sinking along with the rest of him.

Now, Kehlan didn't really know how to swim, and it probably wasn't very wise of him when he jumped in after the cowboy, his huge arms flapping up and down to keep himself afloat.

A giant hand stretched down into the depths, grabbing Justine by the waist, and pulling him up to the surface. Kehlan then made his may back to the ship, dropping under the water level a couple of times, before he heaved the near-drowned man onto the deck, clambering up after him.

Wake up!

"Damn it! I suppose the dominatrix bitch tied me up cause I can't undo these damn nots!"

Shuffling a little bit to face the direction Dante was in, Whelan opened his eyes in a relaxed manor.

"Y'know Dante, judging from that 'Stay outta my face less I rip you a new one' look you've got going on there I'd say that your gratitude towards these people is borderlining it's limits. Then again who am I to say what you're feelings really are, but I'm gong to gamble a guess that you probably have your own agenda concerning this Espylocopa summon.
Yes I was awake when Trellayne stated his little lecture earlier. I must admit however that he does have a grand talent in nega-magic or whatever he used on my attack. That's what I get for not focusing myself, but then that's something you're familiar with aren't you?"

IM:And he's going to come over here to kick me now.....

Dante sighed, "Well... seems Diego didn't hit you hard enough. Oh well, doesn't matter... yes my patience is wearing thin. But that be none of your concern whelp." he said with a wicked glare.

IM: arrogant little pest he is...

He went back to watching the others.

Magdin stood up, glowing with a fresh face.

(not really glowing, glowing as in 'feelin' good')

"This is the life I was meant for! Life on the open sea! So maybe I'm not so old after all!"

He spotted Kehlan looming over a bedraggled Justine. The boy appeared unconsious. Catch was moving toward the duo. Magdin sighed. "Poor boy. I hope he's not dead. This must not be his element, I suppose. Wonder if there are any white mages in our brigade?"
