Get back here you slippery merc...

Kehlan, who had finished the small meal he'd ordered a good while ago, also stood.

"Oid better beh on meh woi nar as well. Was pleasan' moitin' yeh."

He flashed a grin, exposing his half complete set of teeth, then walked out the door, ducking under it, and after Deinar.

"Oi! Wher' yeh think yeh runnin' off teh!" he bellowed after him, a smile on his face as usual.

Deinar turned to face the big man, still walking backwards in the direction he was headed.

'I said! Down to the docks! Why, want to come?'

He stepped to the left just before he bumped into an old woman crossing the street.

'You're always welcome.'

Once again he maneuvered away from a street vendor, apparently subconsciously.

'I could do with the company, friend.'

He stopped just before knocking a small child over. The child's mother rushed over and scooped him up, glaring over her shoulder at Deinar.

'What do you say?'

Kehlan grinned and patted Deinar on the shoulder, almost thumping him into the ground with his sheer strength.

"Woid yer think oi came afteh yeh?" he chuckled, making it clearly apparent he intended to follow his old friend around.

Deinar was stumped, as well as almost floored.

'I don't suppose I thought about it that much.' He finally replied. 'Well then, looks like we'll be traveliing together again! Good! Right then, to the docks, and a prosperous future for the both of us!'

The mercenary lead Kehlan on a winding route down to the docks, too involved in their conversation to pay that much attention to the path he was taking. Finally they arrived, and he looked around with anticipation. This was the day, he could feel it.

'So...where to look first...?'

Kehlan wasn't listening to Deinar for once, instead being distracted by Yarrie, who was standing about 20 feet away.

"Oi...does that thar' ladoi 'ave pointeh ears?" asked Kehlan. Despite his training at the temple of Ashura he'd never heard of an elf.

Blaze Yamato Spirit

Oh, THAT lad.

Postby Blaze Yamato Spirit » Thu May 02, 2002 4:17 pm

Deinar glanced over to the woman Kehlan was referring to.

'Yes she does. I'd assume she's an elf, though there are other races with pointed ears.'

He looked at the elf, who was getting pretty close to a human, who looked like he'd seen a lot of action as an adventurer. He was looking happy, but slightly uncomfortable.

'They look like adventurers. Probably here looking for employment to.'

I take it nobody knows Ash?

Postby Jak Snide » Thu May 02, 2002 4:21 pm

Kehlan kept his questions to himself, instead taking a better look at the duo.

"Yer realoi thunk them are adventurers? The man, sure, boit the ladoi? She looks a tad bit froil."

Blaze Yamato Spirit

Deinar sure doesn't.

Postby Blaze Yamato Spirit » Thu May 02, 2002 4:37 pm

Deinar chuckled to himself.

'When you first met her, wouldn't you have said the same of R'aim? Appearances can be deceiving. But perhaps you are right. After all, if appearances can be deceiving, they could be merchants, sailors, or even doctors!'

"Eh? Doctors?"

The dominance of the temple back home for all things medical meant that Kehlan had never heard of a doctor.

Deinar nodded. He should have expected that, but he had grown used to explaining ideas and things that he had not previously encountered to Kehlan.

'Oh yes. I suppose a doctor is like a healing mage without the magic. Their job is to help heal people using natural and scientific means, as opposed to magical.'

"Roit."

Kehland paused, waiting for Deinar to take the lead.

'Okay then. How about we start in one of these taverns here? If anywhere's a good place to start, it'll be them.'

Deinar lead the way over to one and pushed the door open, light piercing the gloom of the interior. Inside, shadowy shapes could be seen moving through the smoky gloom.

'Charming place!' Deinar commented as he stepped inside.

Kehlan grimaced. He hated these places. They reminded him too much of his life when he was but a lad.

"Yer realoi thunk yoil foind wurk in 'ere?" he whispered, bending down so that Deinar could hear him.

'I don't know, Kehlan. I was thinking more along the lines of rumours. Any job on offer in a place like this is bound to be unsavoury.'

Deinar made his way over to the bar and sat down.

'Barkeep!'

Yarrie glanced over at two odd looking strangers looking at her. She huddled closer to Ash.

Ash noticed her uneasiness. "What's wrong?" he asked. Yarrie motioned over to the two strangers.

"Them? Hmm... they look like out-of-towners." he answered to Yarrie. Then he saw another behind them, who looked like a gunslinger. Then he saw them head into a tavern.

"We should probably grab a bite to eat before heading out an adventure." Ash said since he noticed the tavern.

Yarrie realized she was hungry too and they both walked towards the tavern...

Ash and Yarrie walked inside, only to find the way blocked by an exceptionally large man, both in height and girth. He looked like he could strangle an ox with his bare hands too. He was leaning over, speaking to an out of sight figure in front of him. Strangely, he was wearing white robes, bearing the symbol of Ashura, goddess of healing.

As Deinar and Kehlan darted from the table, Magdin and Justine continued to chat.

"Heh... me?" Magdin mused, looking at the front window. "I got me a destination. A place I oughta be going... I owe a couple of friends a favor. I intend to forfill my promise."

"heh, a man with a plan eh? Thats great that ya intend to keep your promise and all."

>.> Justine looked towards the door, those two seemed to be in a great hurry to get out of here.

"Hey partner >.> You think that guy, Kehlan, looked like the sort to carry a bounty? I mean, he didn't look like no white priest and all. . . thought honestly he didn't sound smart enough to lie either. . ."

What bothered Justine the most was that they just got off and left. they didn't even comment on his great stories. . .

". . . But to leave so suddenly and all >.> ya'd think he hang around in a bar a bit longer."

Makin' a point thar.

Postby Nick Shogun » Fri May 03, 2002 7:08 pm

"Hrm..." Magdin coughed as he thought about Kehlan's face.

"I will admit, there was something about that boy. Something odd. But I wouldn't call him stupid. No, he seemed more like someone that would put on a dull impression of a moron to fool his enemies into underestimating him. Anyhow, whichever of us is right, I think it would be a good idea to follow him. You agree?"

Justine grinned at him.

"Hey, if ya want, I normally don' stalk men and all. . . but I'm up for this." It'll kill some time and might end up getting in a decent bounty. . . or just be some fun.

Justine stood up and done the thumbs up to Magdin. "Shall we go then?"

Catching up..

Postby Whelan2000us » Sun May 05, 2002 3:41 am

After getting a good taste of the floor, Whelan sprung back to his feet and tried to bull rush Slophyl. She easily side stepped it and Whelan crashed against the cave wall. The instant that he hit the wall however a chain appeared to drop out from behind his shield that also just sprouted a number of sharp spikes out from it's edges. Whelan spun back around at Slophyl and released his shield in a spinning wheel of death, but just before it could have split her head down the middle Whelan Yo-Yo'd it back to himself. "Let me pass or I won't stop it the next time!"

(sorry, been trying to keep up with the other rp im in.)

Ash looked at the men Yarrie had seen. He heard them mention the need for work. He walked towards them, "So you need work eh? How about an adventure?" Ash asked the largest of the group.

Back at the Island...

Slophyl smirked, "Really now?" she asked as she tightened her grip on her whip. With impressive and quick reflexes she wrapped her chain-whip around Whelan's hand and threw him and his shield against the side of the temple.

She then leaned against a wall, looking rather bored with this. "Why are you here anyway?" she asked as she folder her arms over her chest.

'An adventure is surely exactly what we're looking for.'

Decisions

Postby Nick Shogun » Sun May 05, 2002 5:48 pm

OOC: Geez. Anyhow, I spent five of six minutes dechiphering their confusing dialogue, trying to figure out whether or not they were still in the tavern, I had a 50% chance of success, and I lost. Here's my edit:

IC: Magdin grinned as he sipped his beer. "Then let's get going. I'm not letting these guys slip away. Kehlan and his partner are mine."

A good ol' technicality!

Postby Whelan2000us » Sun May 05, 2002 10:24 pm

"That's gonna leave a mark. I am definitely not shield man, but thanks to you a need not worry about bringing your barbarian friend into this. As you can see you've just tossed me pass you so I needn't worry about getting around you anymore."
In a series of hand gestures, Whelan retracted his shield back into his gauntlet, took out a set of coke bottle sized shades, and tossed a clear gem in the air. "Solar Flare." Instantly the gem ignites into a blinding sun like brilliance.
"Mabey we can get together again later babe, but right now I have to see some robed stiffs about a debt."
Just then Slophyl felt something whisk right by her ear as she could barely make out a blur of Whelan catching a "black sword".
"If your friend Diego comes in you may want to warn him about the eye sore in here and that it'll go away after a half an hour or so. That leaves just one magic charge left in my gauntlet now, but hopefully that was the last single person in my way.... yeah right! What the hell am I think'n. Oh well."

Apoligizing for CRAP 1/2.

Magdin pushed open the double doors of the tavern and strolled outside, Justine nipping at his heels.

"Hurry, Justine! Those two could be anywhere. Remember, try to look inconscpicous. We don't want them to suspect something. If they see us, just act like we're headed in their direction."

Justine nodded.

"Good."

"Don't worry com-pad-ray, I know how to blend in and stalk people." Said Justine, with his white hat, orange jacket with sheelve flares and strange hanging threads of material, and pure white flared trousers and some strange shoes with a spikey round metal thing on them.

He whistled out and Irvine come out of the crowd and Justine jumped on him.

"My sick sence is telling me the two are headed to the docks." Justine didn't mention the fact he heard them talk about it. "So lets head there first, eh mate?"

Giving out a Whistle, Irvine trotted down towards the docks. Justine of course knew where he was headed, depsite the fact earlier he said he hadn't been to this place, cause it was a lie.

Postby Nick Shogun » Sun May 12, 2002 2:52 pm

"Hrm. I don't see them anywhere around here. Perchance they wandered into another building. But there are so many around here..."

Magdin crouched on a stack of boxes against the side of a shop and looked toward the sea. Endless waves, caught by glistening sparkles of what could be assumed as life, the mysterious waters of Gaera.

"Gaera, truly you are a majestic God," Magdin noted before hoping back down into the streets and trotting after Justine and his horse. The docks were still a while down, near the wharf. Magdin had some thinking to do.

Full speed ahead!

Postby Whelan2000us » Sun May 12, 2002 3:56 pm

(OOC: Ok it's time for things to get a kick in the butt to bring all up to par sometime in this year!)

Whelan picked up the pace by running towards the back of the temple, but his path was crossed again and this time by a drow. The drow named Jaggie held up a rose to his nose as he started up with some poetic intro of himself.

"Sorry pal, but I don't have time for any kind of long monologue crap!"

Whelan ran his knee while still running full tilt into Jaggie's gut sending him to the floor with Whelan's elbow right behind his head.

"Forgive me for not following the rules, but I'm getting really impatient. Even though that elf woman is probably going to beat me for doing this to her. What can say, but a job's a job."

With the drow taken care of, Whelan rushed as fast he could towards the robed group down the hall.

"Hold on there you jerky little pricks!"

IC:

"I'm feeling a faint spirit coming from over there. My tracking works, it seems," said Magdin, pointing left. Before them now lay the expanse of yet another tavern, for it seems as though so many of them line the ports and docks of the great planet Gaera.

Justine looked down to where Magdin was pointing. Dismounting from Irvine he whispered something into the horses ear and it walked off, back from where they came but not before Justine ruffled the horses hair affectionatly.

Justine looked to Magdin and answered a unasked question. "Couldn't have the guy hang around here and all, docks are full of sailors and most of them are likely to eat the poor boy."

Justine watched Irvine dissapear into the distance.

"Just be sure to be careful, partner." He whispered to the air.

Turning to face Magdin again Justine gave him the finger gun. "Shall we go get them Varmints then?" He asked with a childlike smile.

Yeeeeeeeeeeesss.... confrontation at last!!

Postby Nick Shogun » Fri May 17, 2002 12:42 am

Magdin shyly nudged open the tavern doors. Inside, a massive web of smoke and decay called out to him, stifling his breathing and blurring his vision.

"This place can fill itself to the brim with smoke. I can still sense my spirit tracker."

Justine shook his head in confusion.

"Spirit Tracker? Allow me to explain. I have a certain type of magik. I can take a small portion of my own energy and leech it onto another person, so that I can sense them if there close by."

The old man confidently turned about and surveyed the smokey room. There were a lot of creatures in the bar, and Magdin wasn't locking onto anything particular for some reason.

"That reminds me. I've been meaning to ask you, Justine... where did you come by such a well-trained horse?"
