She taps the side of her visor with a finger, and it turns to light and warps away, leaving her face as he recognizes it- Eyepatch and all.

He nodded, and reminded himself that there were pressing matters at hand.

"Do you already know what's going on around us? The girl with the gun outside, D-52 having noticed you and stuff?"

"Viral's outside, yes." Thirteen says, frowning. "I cannot interfere. Not yet. But D-52 has only technically noticed me."

She looks out the window as lightning flashes again. "I must go now. Know that I'll be here if you need me."

She hovers quickly across the room, and hugs Enzo tightly. "Thank you, big brother. I'm glad it was one of you that found me first, and not one of them."

He was a little surprised when Thirteen hugged him, but only a little. He hugged her back and let her go. Something was still weird here, but they had gotten this far trusting her and he wasn't going to stop now.

"Alright. I'll tell the others. ... I'm not sure what we're going to tell D-52 about the 'missing wunderkind', but we will probably think of something."

"Yeah, I think they will see the difference," Emily said, "It's all in the attitude. Think about it. What's calling yourself the 'ultimate' Wunderkind done for you? You've got people who're afraid of you and you're making enemies. I don't see any friends standing with you, and you're certainly not getting any respect."

Thirteen points towards the door she was standing in front of, and then with a flick of her wrist, she opens a portal and steps through. "I'll never be far when you need me, big brother."

"The first time they've seen any of us, ever, it was me. They'll associate our uniforms with fear. Not to say they wouldn't hate and loathe you anyway, just on the principle of being more evolved than they are. Surely you see that much." Viral says, thunder booming behind her.

He smiled.

"Ok. I'll remember that, sis. See you!"

It still felt a little weird, calling one another that. Thirteen moreso because they hadn't actually started calling her 'sister' before now. It still felt good to try, even if it also felt a little silly sometimes. That was what she meant, right? Big brother through wunderkind. And time travel maybe, though she never really straight out answered when they asked her that.

He turned and ran to go help the others. He wanted to fill them in on the conversation, but distracting them while they approached and dealt with Viral didn't seem like the right move.

As Enzo begins to leave...He feels that the nascent Wunderkind is STILL in the room behind where Thirteen was.

Everyone else:

"Evolution is survival of the fittest. I'm the fittest, thus I will survive. Does that make more sense to you?"

Max casually lands on the edge of the crater on the opposite side of Viral from Emmy, arms crossed. "Actually, evolution is survival of the fittest over several generations, not in a single lifetime. Besides, you don't get to just show up and declare yourself the fittest. If evolution were 'survival of the most egotistical self-absorbed jackass,' then you'd be on the right track."

"Why are you so interested in making people hate, loathe, and/or fear you, anyway? Antisocial tendencies are a telltale sign of all kinds of mental problems, you know. Doesn't sound like 'the fittest' to me."

And on queue, thunder and lightning crack behind her.

A red blip appeared on Viral as if on cue with the last thunder-bolt, and green dots spread out across the area they were in, Enzo marked, as well as the other kids, as Alexis' voice spoke over the comm.

I've got her pinpointed and I've checked the surrounding area, no physical signs of other wunderkinds, but I'd need Enzo's backup to be sure. I've got my gun drawn, I can try for a shot, give the order.

Interestingly, Alexis hadn't marked herself, so her current whereabout were known only perhaps to Enzo.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're the bad guy. As for peaceful options, those boil down to one of us walking away and letting the other take Thirteen. We won't be walking away. Will you?"

Enzo makes his way back, to where he senses the new wunderkind. Thirteen's sudden appearance didn't seem like a coincidence, but it seemed that didn't preclude there actually being a new wunderkind to look after.

"Hello? Don't be scared, I'm here to help."

Enzo:

Enzo enters a small dark room, almost completely empty. Whoever is here is here because there wasn't anyone else. He sees a small pile of clothes on the far end- And something within them. A hat, a baseball shirt with the number 13 on it, jeans and shoes. He can hear a sniffling noise from within.

Pulling them away, he can see a small girl- Literally. As Casey described, this kid's definitely shrank quite a bit. Her body is probably preparing to convert fully to data, and just needs some sort of vessel to enter, once she does.

The striking things, though, are the girl's pale blonde hair- Nearly white- And her sky blue on white color scheme on the cloth Wunderkind uniform that seems to have manifested on her.

She looks up at Enzo with power blue eyes, stammering noises and not actually saying anything.

Enzo is quite sure looking at her face:

This is Thirteen.

Enzo looked surprised. ... This made sense, though. Kind of. Thirteen was here because she was here before. Certainly she would do a better job defending the spot than her younger self could have. He smiled a little.

"Hi, I'm Enzo. I'm going to take you somewhere safe, ok?"

He opened a compartment and pulled out his PDA. He didn't like putting her into it, but he didn't have anything more suitable. Hopefully she wouldn't be too uncomfortable. More than anything he wanted to be able to conceal her when he was leaving.

Young Thirteen begins making panicked noises, holding her sides as she begins to glow. She's pretty actively resisting getting sucked into a PDA.

He sets the PDA further away from her for now, so it will be less of an issue for her.

"Listen, I know this is scary and you don't even know me. But it's going to be ok. What's happening to you is scary and weird, but it's ok. Your body wants to jump into something that has circuits. That's going to happen no matter what eventually. This is what I have with me right now, and you'll be safe in there. It might feel a little weird because it wasn't made just for you, but it will feel at least a little better than how you do right now." He offered her his hand gently. "Let me help you?"

"It's an evolution kind of thing. No one picked us, there's no reason that I know of for it to happen. I guess you could call it fate? Anyway, I'm trying to let you dive into my PDA. Data needs an electronic device to live in. Lucky for us, we're on a world that's absolutely filled with them. You'll wake up in a different looking place, and you won't feel so sick anymore. You'll still be able to see out, and talk to me and stuff if you want. I'll take you back to D-52, the people who have been helping me, and who gave me this body. They'll help you too. You'll become part of our family."

He waited, not sure what else to say. He wasn't prepared to force her into anything.
