Because it was very easy to convince her to do what we wanted. She literally went from planning to eat us to 'joining the team' in under five minutes. Those other wunderkind we met in the server... One of them tried to get Max and his team for that mission to join her. The consequences of meeting them again and being less persuasive while Byrd is around could be pretty bad. If we needed you and Silvie to fight her off for us, we'd have the rest of that crew to handle without you two. Just... hypothetical stuff like that.

There's probably other things he should be asking his new sister, but Max is having a hard time prying his attention away from her sweet ride. Actually, that would imply that he was even trying to.

"So how long have you been working on this thing, anyway? You've done a lot of work on this thing, and not just superficial stuff. You've scaled it down from the original model and it looks like you've just about finished the body build, and if it's meant for Wunderkind I'm sure you've added some reinforcements and tweaked the engine output and all that. I mean, when we first came in here you were workin' pretty fast, but that's still a lot of work."

Max tilts his head and rolls his eyes up as he searches internally for the point of his inquiry.

"I guess what I'm getting at is, how long have you been here? Been a Wunderkind?"

"Actual work, I've been messing with it for months. I had a good few days when I started changin' a coupla weeks ago to get some real good work on her, especially since I could reach the insides better. Then I got ate up by her computer, and they brought 'er here. I just got my body done last night, been up since makin' adjustments to m'self an' to 'er so I can ride 'er again."

You got pulled into your bike? Wow! Alexis' eyes grows wide and she steps up to look at it. I heard that some wunderkind activate without the influence of Project Bluesky, but I didn't think it could go this far!

"Yep." Casey smirks. "She and I were one, for a bit. It was pretty awesome."

[Idran1701]

"Wow. Cool!" Sam looks over to Casey's bike for a bit, before turning back to her. "What was that like? I've never been in stuff besides normal computers and our bodies."

"A lot like the database. I was pretty upset I couldn't work on 'er anymore, though."

He nods. "So it wasn't like the bodies where it's like you're the body instead of you're inside the body? It was like you had a room inside your bike's computer or something?"

"T-that w-would be w-w-weird..." Alexis added to Sam comments, "l-l-like if our b-bodies w-w-were l-l-like the duh-database, I mean."

"Yeah." Casey says. "Was like a small room, really."

Silive let out a low whistle.

"Sounds cramped," she said. "But it must've been really neat - oh! When you were in her system, could you like, drive it from the inside?"

"Nah." She says. "Without a rider, bikes can't keep balance. Though when I got deep in the engine, I managed t' get th' intake sorted out t' improve airflow through th' whole thing. Not gonna find that on any other bike." Casey says, beaming proudly.

"What's that mean? I don't really know anything about how engines and stuff work, what's that kinda stuff do for it?"

"The bike'll balance better as I go, and the engine'll have more air to run on. The inlets are next to impossible to get to...Unless you're me."

Alexis was as lost as, if not more than Sam and she just looked between Casey and the bike, then back again.

"W-wow..." she could tell Casey knew a whole lot about bikes!

"D-do we g-get our own b-bikes?" She looked a bit nervous, "I-I h-haven't run the s-s-simulation..."

"Uh..Probably not like this one. They told me you guys all already got little Wunder-Pedal bikes, so..."

[Idran1701]

"Oh. Neat!" Sam doesn't entirely get what that means, but it sounds good. "But what d'you mean unless you're you?"

And after her response to Alexis, he gets a tiny bit rankled. "Hey, they're actually pretty cool bikes. I mean, not as cool as a motorcycle, but they're still cool too."

"Well, maybe I can do somethin' with 'em." She says, grabbing a wrench and tapping it against her hand briefly, causing a light clanging. "Anyway, there was awhile there that I could fit down in there and get the insides of the engine figured out and fixed up."

Alex didn't want to tell Casey that she hadn't even gone onto the bikes they had yet, so instead she focuses on what Casey just said.

You... can't get into it anymore? Is it because you're inside your body now?

"Well, unless they make me a way smaller body that I can still do work in. I don't fit anymore."

Wait, what? You were... small?

"Yup." Casey says simply. "...Weren't you?"

"Nuh uh." Sam shakes his head, a bit confused. "I didn't get small...I don't think any of us did."

"Oh. That's weird. 'Cuz I definitely did."

[NebulaQueen]

"Huh, that's weird...d'you think it has something to do with, well, what you can do?"

"Nah..." Casey says, before looking around a bit, and lowering her voice. "Th' girl said it's just part o' how natural transforms do it, they jes' get smaller an' smaller till a computer gobbles 'em up. Dependin' on how much stuff's 'round 'em, they can go real fast or real slow. Since th' only thing changin' me was m' girl here, I was shrinkin' real, real slow."

"Huh. Neat! I always kinda wondered what it was like when you didn't just get transferred. What was it like? Did you know what was goin' on or anything?"

"Whatdya mean?" Casey asks, looking a bit confused.

"Well, it sounds pretty unsettling, just gradually shrinking without really knowing why," Emily said, "Didn't people notice?"

"Well, I noticed." Casey says. "Not like anyone else was 'round."

[Idran1701]

"Why not?"

[Shinigori V2]

"Well, I lived alone."

"You did? How come?"

"Orphan." She says simply. "An' homeless."

[Idran1701]

"Oh." He nods, letting it drop there; that's always a sore subject, even here.

"Sounds like a lot of Wunderkind," she said quietly, glancing down at the floor.

"Eh! Not a big deal." Casey says, shrugging. "Made it loads easier while I was changin', an' that girl kept an eye on me t' make sure it was all goin' right."

"That girl? Who's that? Someone from D52?"

Casey shakes her head. "Nah, didn' get 'er name. But, she was like us, y'know? Wunderkind. Unnerpants on th' outside an' all."
