Kongunvir glanced at the fleeing constructs as his icy opponent's blow rattled against his armour. "Two runners!" he yelled, darting to the side suddenly before stepping around the machine he was fighting, placing it right between Magpie and himself. He offered a silent prayer Clanggedin, hoping that the creatures these things had been butchering before wouldn't suddenly spring to life.

(5-foot step to F-13, standard attack on I3.)

Magpie had given a short wail as the electricity charged through her, and the... uncomfortable pain had momentarily caught her off-guard. That was... something she hadn't felt in a long time. Shaking her head in an uncharacteristically human way, she reaffirms her grip of her blade and her mouth shrinks into a narrow line. If she had more control of her face, brow in particular, she would have been frowning in deep concentration; clearly she had underestimated these constructs.

Damned web!

Following after the fleeing copper-constructs, Magpie brandished her blade once more, determined to end their half-existances.

[moving to E10, risking an AoO from the ice-construct, and then POWER ATTACK'D]

Phelan yelped as another hit was scored on his side. If he didn't finish off this construct and get some help soon, he was going to be in trouble. He made one more go of it, trying to finish the Icey construct in front of him so that he could about-face and meet the other one properly.

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels
Round 2-3

Kongunvir sidesteps around his foe to get the best advantage from his position, but his strike still isn't quite swift enough to get a solid strike on the construct . Florence is another story, however, unleashing another rapid-fire barrage of fists and elbows against the construct. Despite the damage, though, it turns to Phelan, finally recognizing the more serious threat. Almost stabbing him with the probe, it unleashes a weak jolt of electricity through Phelan's body, leaving a coppery tang in his mouth.

Phelan strikes back as one of the copper constructs once more fails to escape the increasingly victorious Planewalkers. Gripping the probe arm in his jaws, Phelan rips it free of the construct, taking a large portion of gearwork with it and leaving the automaton to collapse lifelessly.

Round 2
Kongunvir attacks Ice 3, misses

Round 3
Florence uses Flurry of Blows on Ice 1. She hits once for 5 damage.
Ice 1 attacks Phelan with Shocking Grasp. It hits for 8 damage.
Copper 2 tries to free itself from the web, and fails its CMB check.
Phelan attacks Ice 1. He hits for 7 damage and 4 sneak attack damage. Ice 1 is destroyed.

Asp could now chalk up another win for logic. A rather painful win, but a win nonetheless. Speaking of winning, he should probably go back to helping the group attain victory. Things seemed to be under control for now, so he headed over to help Kongunvir and Magpie under the theory that they were closer. A gob of acid ought to do the trick.

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels
Round 3

Asp conjures a dart of acid, flinging it at the ice construct, but it manages to skitter to the side just in time, and the projectile splatters against the ice wall with a hiss. Meanwhile, Shawn leaps to Phelan's foe just in time to rip through its back where the armor was weakest, pulling free a number of cogs. Though it still remains standing, it steps away with cautious speed. Like its brethren before, it becomes tangled within Asp's web, leaving three now ripe for the slaughter.

Within the web, Magpie steps forward, and though she becomes quickly stuck herself, her blade does not. Smashing it down with tremendous anger, her target explodes in a single strike, sending shrapnel throughout the web and leaving nothing but a few components hanging loosely in the air. The final icy construct seems to realize the predicament its in, and dashes for the web itself. The strands seem to disintegrate about it, allowing it to remain untouched, and not expecting the sudden new foe, Magpie can't get in position in time. It darts down the tunnel, abandoning its allies to their fate.

Round 3

Asp moves to H12 and uses Acid Dart on Ice 3. He misses.
Shawn moves to H3 and attacks Ice 2. She hits for 1 point of damage plus 14 points of sneak attack damage.
Ice 2 takes a 5-foot step to G4 and withdraws, attempting to escape. It fails its CMB check, and becomes snared in the web at F8.
Magpie moves to E10, taking an AoO from Ice 3; Ice 3 misses. She fails her CMB check, and becomes ensnared in the web at E10. She attacks Copper 2 with Power Attack, and gets a critical hit for 44 damage. Copper 2 is destroyed.
Ice 3 withdraws. Asp fails his spell resistance check. Magpie gets an Attack of Opportunity, and misses. Ice 3 escapes.

Kongunvir cursed as the hafling's magic failed to prevent the construct from retreating. That thing was quick! He hurled himself into the webbing, praying that the magic would fail to restrain him as well.

"Magpie, get after it!" he yelled as he brought his axe down towards the remaining copper machine.

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels
Round 3-4

Kongunvir easily manages to chop his way through the regenerative web, but he isn't quite so lucky upon reaching the constructs, the loose strands of webbing tangling his battleaxe and slowing it just enough to prevent his strike. Florence darts up to his left, slamming the metal body and creating a sudden flash of green light; however, though she injures it, it doesn't appear to have any other effect.

Round 3
Kongunvir passes his CMB check and moves to F9, attacking Copper 1. He misses.

Magpie spared no time as the construct fell to her blade. She looked after the icy construct, considering her options as she fought to be free of the webbing.

"I am afraid Asp's spell has had the unintended side-effect of impeding our movement, Konungvir." she said matter of factly, "I shall see what I can do, but I hold no high hopes in managing to capture it!"

Still, she tried.

It looked as if the web was hampering the others more than it was the constructs, and it certainly wasn't going to make catching the runner easy, so Asp dismissed it before beginning his own pursuit. Hopefully the two remaining constructs would be a bit too preoccupied fighting to make their own getaways.

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels
Round 4

Phelan darts up, ripping into the final icy construct with full force, as Asp dismisses the web, the strands dissolving back into nothingness. Shawn and Magpie run down the escaped constructs, while the surviving ones attempt to follow suit. A solid series of blows manages to destroy Phelan's target, and severely damage the metallic one, but it still manages to escape, running down the tunnel itself. Florence begins to speed after it, cautious in the dark tunnel not to run into any unseen obstacles.

Round 4
Phelan moves to F7 and attacks Ice 2. He hits for 5 damage and 2 sneak attack damage.
Asp dismisses the web and moves to D9
Shawn heads down the tunnel after Ice 3
Ice 2 runs down the tunnel. Florence gets an AoO, and hits for 5 damage. Kongunvir uses Active Assault to gain Combat Reflexes, gets an AoO, and hits for 12 damage. Ice 2 is destroyed.
Magpie heads down the tunnel after Ice 3.
Copper 1 runs down the tunnel. Florence gets an AoO, and misses. Kongunvir gets an AoO, and hits for 13 damage. Phelan gets an AoO and hits for 5 damage. Copper 1 escapes.

This combat is over, 400 XP apiece!

"Cut them down if you can, but watch for traps!"

Kongunvir followed his allies down the tunnel, trying to keep speed with them rather than catch the retreating constructs. They were far too fast for him to catch and he didn't like the idea of rushing into a well prepared trap. Even goblin scum had enough brains about them to prepare a nasty surprise once in a while and he doubted these things were that stupid. At worst they were looking at a kobold-grade scenario and he wasn't about to suffer the indignity of dying to a hail of crossbow bolts or a spiked pit.

(Follow at some speed, enough to reinforce his allies if they find themselves engaged but not so recklessly that he'll barrel into any trap.)

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels

The party chase down the constructs, with Kongunvir and Asp quickly falling behind due to their unfortunately-small stature. Phelan quickly pulls out in front, with Florence staying just slightly ahead of Shawn, and Magpie dashing just behind. The light seems to get stronger as they head down the tunnel, and a bright patch soon emerges ahead of them, the sensation of a freezing wind blowing through them.

After but seconds, they reach the source; before them, across the far side of the room at the end of the tunnel isn't an icy wall but rather a vast arctic plane, the "corners" of the room wavering slightly, jagged like a rip in reality. In the distance on the far side of the rift is the wreckage of a steel structure of some sort, glinting in the polar light, and a soft wind blows chilling air through the room. Within the room itself, beyond the fleeing constructs, stand two new figures. Just in front of them, a third construct gleaming of gold, a spinning saw extending from one limb, and a probe similar to the copper constructs' attached to the other, though far larger. And to the right of the room...a human in somewhat tattered leather, deep slices scoring his face, his left arm and leg replaced with clockwork ice in humanoid form. He bears little sign of an intelligent mind in his eyes, staring at the invaders with utter hate, but Phelan recognizes him; Sylvain, his friend, taken and twisted by these creatures for their own purposes. Along the far side, carefully stacked, are the bodies of others - the captured villagers, assumedly - each bearing signs of an attempt at a similar transformation, but all lifeless. Incision marks and open wounds reveal their alternate purpose, one some may have guessed at by now; harvesting for parts for other constructs of their own form.

Just as these additional foes come into view, the gold construct levels its probe towards Phelan, and a bolt of electricity leaps from its tip down the tunnel. It passes through the constructs with no effect, and Phelan easily manages to leap out of the way. Magpie has just enough time to lean to the side, avoiding the brunt of the strike, but it arcs through her frame, jarring her yet again and dotting her mithril plates with points of black char. A high-pitched whine picks up from the golden construct, as it prepares for another strike.

BOSS TIME

Gold fires a lightning bolt down column 8. Ice 3 and Copper 1 are hit for no damage. Phelan makes his reflex save, taking no damage (Evasion). Magpie makes her reflex save, taking 12 damage.

Asp and Kongunvir won't be able to act in round 1 due to their speed, but they can enter the combat map at the bottom of the map (from either column) starting on their turn on round 2.

Magpie:
Spoiler:
From the sound the gold construct is giving off, it appears that it can make such a strike more than once, but not regularly. At best once every two rounds (in game terms).

Phelan, Asp:
Spoiler:
You believe what you're seeing before you is an elemental rift. A portal from the Material plane to one of the elemental planes, they form only at locations where an element is heavily concentrated. From the center of a hurricane to the plane of Lightning, from the heart of a volcano to the plane of Magma, etc.

Magpie wanted to get to the golden construct first. It was dangerous, and obviously the leader... but to do so would present her enemies with far too many opportunities to strike at her... so the construct, without barely slowing down, bolted past between Phelan and Florence and slided to a halt next to the Copper construct, swinging her blade in a wide arc once more in the hopes that she could end their existance before they caused any more harm...

She didn't have time to consider Phelan's friend. She had expected him to be dead, and chances of his alteration like this had been increased dramatically when she'd seen the bear and foxes... but it was troublesome to see that she was right. A strange experience, and she resisted the urge to ponder it more. Not now, not here. Too much going on.

Shawn lowered her head, but kept her eyes on the golden prize, while making a note to go back and collect some of the gears and cogs (She had an idea!)

She charged headlong towards Goldie, but made an effort to jump over it, and behind it, as she got close enough.

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels
Sylvain - Round 1

Shawn darts around and about the various foes in the room with her full grace, leaping between saws and scimitars and jumping past the gold construct, landing on the far side of the rift. Things feel much more frigid here - the warmth of the tunnels was a welcome change that she no longer has out in the open here - but her fur does well enough to protect her from the elements. Meanwhile, Magpie shows off her own skill, slicing through the copper construct's body in a single slice. Spinning in place, she bears her blade down on its companion, but it ducks and stumbles just out of reach of her edge.

Though her attention was taken by the constructs, Magpie soon feels the sensation of her metallic plates suddenly plunging in temperature. Looking over, she spies Sylvain as the source, and with force of will fights the magical attack before it can reach the point of actual damage to her form. The mangled druid steps up to her, fully intending to bar the way of the party to his new master, but Florence easily ducks under his blade, following Shawn's lead. Channeling her momentum into her strike, she tries to slam her fist right into the creature's gem, only to force herself to the side at the sudden interposition of its whirring saw blade.

Round 1
Shawn moves past Gold to H8. Shawn passes 7 acrobatics checks; Copper 1, Ice 3, Sylvain, and Gold get no AoOs.
Magpie moves to M9 and attacks Copper 1. She hits for 16 damage, and Copper 1 is destroyed. She uses Cleave, and misses Ice 3.
Sylvain casts Chill Metal on Magpie. Magpie passes her save. He moves to L9.
Asp is skipped.

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels
Sylvain - Round 1

Dashing forward, Phelan pounces with full fury at the thing that was once his friend. Sylvain stumbles back before shoving Phelan off, and the wolf feels the sting of his clockwork components, their semi-mystical chill burrowing past his fur like it wasn't even there. Behind him, the icy construct strikes, while its golden leader does the same against Florence. Both strikes are easily dodged by their foes, but the gold doesn't leave things there. It backs away from the two Planewalkers, giving Shawn the chance to get in a quick strike, though she finds it hard for her claws to get through its armor as easily as she did the silver. Staring down past Sylvain, the gold readies its probe, as that high-pitched whine begins to grow even louder.

Round 1
Phelan moves to M8 and attempts to bull rush Sylvain into K10. He succeeds by 5, and pushes Sylvain into J11. Ice 3 gets an AoO, and misses. Phelan takes 1 point of cold damage. (30/57)

"Get away from each other, it will be able to fire its ray now!" Magpie bellowed with surprising urgency to her comrades as she rested her blade along her arm, holding the pommel in her hand and the tip of it against the shoulder. She ran past the ice-creature, and Phelan, and Sylvain, screeching to a stop next to the gold creature and the reanimated druid. She dropped her grip on the pommel, let the sickly green sword slide down a few inches before she twisted her hand and grabbed the blade, spinning around and delivering another sweep at the two.

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels
Sylvain - Round 2

Dashing forward, Shawn leaps at the gold construct, only to be batted to the ground. She lands harmlessly, but fails to get any purchase. Magpie steps up to its other side, twirling her sword, and though she makes a solid slash against Sylvain, he manages to block the blade from his new master; intentionally, it seemed to Magpie. Stepping back from the large construct, he gives Magpie the chance to take another hit at him, but channels energy into himself, a ritual Phelan recognizes just too late to warn her as a bolt of lightning manifests at the cavern ceiling, shooting down through Magpie and into the ground. Smoke begins to rise from her wood at the repeated blasts of electricity, but she's still well enough to stand.

While Asp channels his own electrical power, his target spies him just in time to skitter back out of the way, leaving Asp's hand crackling with energy as arcs jump between fingertips. Florence dashes forward towards the gold construct, but it blocks her strike skillfully with its manipulator arm and shoves her back. She manages to keep her footing, but she's starting to look increasingly angered. She looks back to the tunnel briefly, calling out. "Kongunvir! Watch out, this one's got some sort of lightning attack! Don't get caught lined up with someone else!"

Round 2
Shawn moves to H10 and attacks Gold. She misses.
Magpie moves to J12. Ice 3 gets an AoO and misses. Sylvain gets an AoO and hits for 8 damage. Magpie attacks Sylvain and hits for 20 damage. She uses cleave, and misses Gold.
Sylvain moves to H12. Magpie gets an AoO and hits for 17 damage. Sylvain casts Call Lightning. He sends a bolt of lightning to Magpie; she passes her Reflex save and takes 6 damage.
Asp casts Shocking Grasp and makes a touch attack on Ice 3. He misses and holds the charge.

Kongunvir barrelled down the tunnel, taking in the situation before turning his run into a charge, bringing his axe slashing down at the icy construct that'd slipped away just seconds before. He was aware of Floence's warning, hopping to the side after his attack.

(Charge to M9 and attack Ice 3. Afterwards he'll use Active Assault to move to move to M8.)

Noticing how Sylvain seems to be protecting the Gold construct, a glimmer of hope shines in Phelan's heart. Maybe if it dies first? It was worth a try. He charged at the Gold construct, fully intent on destroying it.

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels
Round 2

Almost leaping to the gold construct, Phelan manages to score the first hit upon it. It clings too tenaciously with its clawed legs to be pulled to the ground, but it watches Phelan with what seems like a sudden bit of wariness.

At the tunnel, Kongunvir dashes forward, cleaving his axe downwards into the icy construct, and shearing off an entire plate of solid frozen armor. It makes a feeble strike at Asp, and backpedals away from the two while the gold construct gets in position to fire off a bolt. Florence and Shawn both curve easily out of its path, but Florence can't manage to get a good strike in as it scrabbles back to the other side of the room. Its lesser kin steps up in its place without a word exchanged between them, interposing itself in the midst of the attackers.

Round 2

Phelan moves to I12. Gold gets an AoO and hits for 10 damage. Phelan attacks and hits for 4 damage and 1 sneak attack damage. He attempts to trip and fails.
Kongunvir charges to M8 and attacks Ice 3. He hits for 12 damage. He uses Active Assault to move to M9.
Ice 3 attacks Asp, and hits for 2 damage. It takes a 5-foot step to K10 and readies a move action.
Gold takes a 5-foot step to J10, and fires a lightning bolt up 10. Florence makes her reflex save, taking no damage (Evasion). Shawn makes her reflex save, taking no damage (Evasion). Gold moves to I5; Florence gets an AoO and misses.
Ice 3 moves to I11.

Phelan wasn't prepared to give this thing up yet. He twisted round and half rolled like a fuzzy wheel, half bounded away from Sylvain and the Ice construct. From there, he intended to comes to a brief stop against the wall, and further pursue the gold construct.

(full speed tumble attempt to get from I12 to K12; He'll move from K12 to K9, from K9 to J8 diagonally, and stop at J6 to attack again)

In its eagerness to get away from the others (and zap them with electricity), the gold construct seemed to have forgotten about Asp. Which was fine, really; kender had a long history of being overlooked. Tradition dictated that he exploit this indifference to his presence, and so Asp nipped over to counter-zap the poor, unsuspecting creature.

(Moving to J5 and taking another shot with shocking grasp, this time with a +3 bonus for the target being made of metal.)

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels
Round 3

Scowling, Shawn whirls after the gold construct, dashing towards it. At the end of her run, she makes a mid-air leap and the edge of her form makes a familiar ripple. Rather than take any traditional sort of form, though, she transforms into pure liquid, and seeps into the construct through the gaps left by Phelan's successful strike. They can hear her mass tangle itself up amongst the construct's clockwork, and indeed it seems to be fairly effected by the strike.

Magpie takes a failed swipe at the icy construct, and steps back, moving up to the gold to watch for another withdrawal. Sylvain points at her as she steps away, and another bolt of lightning arcs from the ceiling into her body, a blast she just barely manages to leap away from the brunt of. He moves to a more central position in the midst of the glacial field, keeping watch over the entirety of the battlefield.

Asp dashes up towards the gold construct just as Shawn makes her leap, and pulls back just in time. Florence watches with mouth agape, and gets herself together just in time to smash the other construct right in the "eye", sending cracks through its gem. "Asp, that won't work! It sent a bolt straight through two of them earlier, didn't even scorch them!" Leaving the barely-functioning construct behind, she pays only the slightest of glances to Sylvain before sharing a look with Phelan, and moving up alongside Magpie instead against the gold.

Phelan dashes after her, showing off some impressive acrobatics for a wolf, though the damaged clockwork still manages to score a thin cut with its saw. Bounding off the wall, he leaps through the air at the gold, clamping on and leaving some further dents in its shell.

Round 3
Shawn moves to H6, drops into ooze form, and takes a 5-foot step into Gold. Gold takes 8 damage, Shawn takes 6 damage. (Since this isn't really any normal sort of attack, I'm ruling it's 2d6 damage to both the construct and Shawn once a round until Shawn leaves.)
Magpie attacks Ice 3. She misses. She takes a 5-foot step to K11 and moves to I6.
Sylvain strikes Magpie with another bolt. She passes her reflex save and takes 6 damage. Sylvain takes a 5-foot step to G12 and moves to G8.
Asp moves to J5 and strikes Gold with Shocking Grasp. He misses and holds the charge. (Took some liberty in the description, but it was a missed touch attack, yes.)
Florence attacks Ice 3. She hits for 9 damage. She takes a 5-foot step to I9 and moves to H6.
Phelan makes 2 full-speed Acrobatics checks to avoid AoOs and moves to K12; he fails the second. Ice 3 attacks and hits for 3 damage. He moves to J6 and attacks gold; he hits for 3 damage.

Kongunvir glanced at the gold construct. He'd wanted to be the one to bring it down but it seemed that the others had things well in hand. Besides, there was an unengaged foe on the field.

(Charge to J10, attack Ice 3. Use Active Assault to follow it and take a second AoO if it tries to run disengage. Not using my reroll just yet.)

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels
Round 3

Keeping his momentum going, Kongunvir chases after his foe, finishing his first strike and shattering the construct into shards. Meanwhile, the gold spins up its saw, and sparks fly as it attempts to slice through Magpie's sword to no avail. It retreats deeper into the field of ice as Phelan makes another strike, skittering from side to side as it considers its next move.

Round 3
Kongunvir charges to J10 and attacks Ice 3. He hits for 8 damage. Ice 3 is destroyed.
Gold attempts to sunder Magpie's greatsword. It hits for 7 damage but doesn't pass the sword's hardness. It moves to D6. Asp gets an AoO and misses. Phelan gets an AoO and hits for 7 damage. Magpie gets an AoO and misses. Florence gets an AoO and misses.

Since most conventional attacks risked hurting Shawn as well, Asp opted to try out the rod of wonder again, leveling it at the gold construct.

Magpie did her best to keep her focus. Pain she hadn't experienced in a long while (256 years, 3 months and 7 days, creature of unknown origin attempting to consume remains of master. Result, master's body remained unconsumed, Magpie's body requiring immense repairs.) tore at her and her eyes flared bright green as she glanced at her blade. If it had been broken, she would have... no, no time to think about that!

Realizing that they were standing once more in line, Magpie broke free from the formation, and stomped towards Sylvain. She'd hurt him and she wanted to make sure he couldn't hurt them again. She felt sorrow for Phelan, but she knew that his friend was no longer this casing of meat and metal.

[moving to H7, Power Attack on Sylvain and then combat focus to move to G7]

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels
Round 4

The battle continues, as Magpie steps up swinging, striking Sylvain with a furious blow. He collapses, as his clockwork components can be heard to speed faster and faster. The gold construct focuses on Sylvain, and before long, his replacement arm and leg erupt in a massive explosion of shrapnel, spreading large enough to strike both Magpie and Florence. Sylvain himself lies unconscious and bleeding in the ice, slashed with frozen shards as badly as any of them and now missing two of his limbs, but he seems to be breathing shallowly. Though likely not for much longer if not treated.

Asp levels his rod at the gold construct, triggering it once more. A glittering beam leaps from its tip, an effect Asp easily recognizes as a ray of enfeeblement. And indeed, when it strikes the construct, it seems to slump ever so slightly. Not a massive effect, but more useful than the last. Florence turns from Sylvain and, glaring at the construct, leaps towards it. She strikes with a flash of white light, but the construct doesn't seem impacted by whatever it was that occurred, to Florence's frustration.

Round 4
Shawn remains in the construct. Gold takes 6 damage, Shawn takes 11 damage.
Magpie moves to H7 and attacks Sylvain with Power Attack. She hits for 19 damage. Sylvain is knocked out, and icy destruction is triggered. Magpie passes her reflex save and takes 4 slashing and 1 cold damage. Florence fails her reflex save and takes 8 slashing and 8 cold damage. Sylvain automatically fails his reflex save and takes 9 slashing and 1 cold damage. Magpie uses Active Assault and moves to G7.
Asp uses the rod of wonder on Gold's last known spot. 9 - Ray of enfeeblement strikes target. Gold gains a -2 Strength penalty.
Florence moves to E6 and attacks Gold with Stunning Fist. She hits for 5 damage. Gold is unaffected.

Kongunvir spun around at the sound of the explosion, raising his shield reflexively. The others had born the brunt of the fighting and had paid for it. He wished he'd been with them for it and cursed the taller races for their loping, elongated strides. He could grumble later though. He needed their long legs if they were to have any hope of stopping that construct. He wasn't happy about it but these things were just too fast for him to have a hope of catching.

"Take these," he yelled, grabbing a pair of potions from his belt and thrusting them at his fellow warriors, "and make sure that damn thing doesn't get away!"

(Moving to H7 and handing Florence and Magpie a Cure Moderate Wounds potion each.)

Phelan broke stride, originally intending to rush the Gold construct, when Magpie seemingly felled Sylvain. He took a step towards them both, when Sylvain's arm and leg literally exploded. He howled like a wounded animal as he bounded forward, all but sure that his friend was now dead.

(Moving to Sylvain's body, no real action beyond checking the druid over)

Plane of Ice - Remorhaz Tunnels
Round 4

While Phelan sits with shock at his friend's side, Kongunvir tosses two of his allies badly-needed curatives. Before they're able to use them, however, the remaining construct fires another bolt, this one through both Florence and Asp. They both manage to dodge the blast, but Asp doesn't have the reflexes to entirely avoid it, taking an arc through his shoulder and leaving him with the taste of copper in his mouth. The construct tries to hobble back on its remaining limbs, with Florence whiffing a parting shot; the damage both outside and in definitely seems to be taking its toll on the creature.

Round 4
Phelan moves to H8 and checks on Sylvain.
Kongunvir moves to H7 and tosses Magpie and Florence each a potion of Cure Moderate Wounds.
Gold fires a lightning bolt from E6 to I5. Florence makes her reflex save, taking no damage. Asp makes his reflex save, taking 9 damage. It moves to A8. Florence gets an AoO, and misses.

Magpie turned to see Phelan dart towards Sylvain and she narrowed her eyes slightly, looking at the grief-struck wolf before the bolt of lightning and potion flying her way made her remember the fight they were in. Catching the bottle and downing its content in a reflexive manner, she stampeded off towards the gold construct. Niceties were over and done with, in another time and place, Magpie might have learned something from these critters... perhaps they too had lost their creators... but they seemed intent only on killing what manner of life they found... so their existence could not be permitted to continue.

She attemped to put herself in the way of the creature, shield her friends while they finished it off from a distance.

The construct looked pretty darn trashed by now, and seemed to be trying to get away. Well, they couldn't have that (particularly with Shawn still in there somewhere), so Asp decided to conjure up something to stop its retreat, even as he gave chase himself.

(Moving to F6 and summoning a medium air elemental to slip around behind gold and cut off its retreat).
