A: Nice color selection, works with the original lineart very well.
B-D: Look like A with random color filters applied to it, to be honest =/

You're very close. I was fucking with the layer properties of the image with that green background behind it.

I actually do that a lot more than you might think, and generally I just come to a conclusion and decide one is good. However, this time I didn't know whether I had any super-strong preference, so I decided to see what other people thought before I picked one and called the silly thing complete.

To me, the last one is the best.

a) Is alright, seems kind of plain. Nothing really pops out at me about it.

b) Too dark for my tastes. I can't expain much more than that.

c) too sharp and harsh to my eyes. I can't get a solid look at it without the skin slightly discomforting me. Otherwise this wouldn't have been too bad.

d) Now, this one everything works. The colors, the muted tones and the greenish hue on the darker parts. I like how the colors compliments each other. Some of my favorite artists do this sort of thing and I just adore it.

...maybe this is my lack of artistness... but, I'm not really 'seeing' what stands out about the last one. ; It just looks like the first one, but slightly faded out with a green hue to me. Am I missing something? I'm not trying to be an ass, I'm just not getting what Sarah's saying.

Eh, it's personal tastes. It's like how I don't see what's so great about the first one. The colors are ok, but flat. They don't really make me feel anything for it. Looks like the colors are just there.

Personally, the 3rd one I like because it's comforting to the eyes. I could gaze at thr picture and the details for as long as I want. It just looks so much better and comfortable. *shurg* To each their own opinions I guess.

Stole it from a hairstylist magazine. They're the best things I've ever found to use for references, particularly for crazy things like this.
