Otakon meeting points

We need to decide on some times and places at Otakon to meet up, ne?

Someone who is familiar with Otakon might need to help me out, I don't know where anything will be or what WILL be there to meet at. <p>

Well, it's in the baltimore convention center, and I think a good place to meet would be below the escalators where the line forms...I'd pull out a map and how but I don't have one... <p>

For the people that are staying at the same hotel, it would work to meet out there, and then set up a meeting point at Otakon itself, for the others.

On Thursday evening I imagine we can set up a meeting at the main hotel...how about at the poolside? What time would be good to meet up for everyone? 8 p.m. EST? <p>

Is there a single food court type dealy at Otakon? Cuz that'd make a very good place to meet up at.

[edit] I'm willing to make up a list of meeting times, places, and phone numbers so people can get in touch with each other. If you want your number to be on it so people can get ahold of you, just PM or IM it to me. I'll let people know when I have the TXT file ready for distribution. <p>

You know... I'm thinking we should come up with some bigass html/txt file or maybe some spreadsheet or SOMETHING detailing all this Otakon information for quick and easy reference. Locations, times, peoples, anything that could be useful for organization.

If nothing else, it would probably help people who's parents keep asking questions. Like mine. <p><div style="text-align:center"></div></p>

[edit] Okay, I talked with Ken to get an idea of where some things at Otakon might be...

I suggest three meeting points; the pre reg booth, the "food court" or whatever they want to call it, and the poolside of the Baltimore-Canton Holiday Inn Express. I'm fairly certain that these three places will exist and will be easy to find.

Now, do we want to arbitrarily assign meeting times, and let whoever wants to meet up meet up; or do we want to set a few times that people will all try to meet up? <p>

I suggest trying for some sort of meeting time. It makes it more likely we can actually meet.

How does this sound?

Thursday: meeting at the poolside of the B-C HIE, 7-8 p.m.
Friday: meeting at the "food court" at 4-5 p.m.
Saturday: meeting at the "food court" at 4-5 p.m.
Sunday: meeting at the prereg booth at noon-1 p.m

Other meetings and activities can be arranged at these times.

I will personally make an effort to attend each meeting time, and stuff. <p>

I will also try and be at every one. =D

On another note I couldn't prereg cause the site hates my credit card and any credit card my family has, so I'll have to spend 5 hours queueing for a ticket on the first day.

Why are all those times so late?
Not that I'm complaining I'm just curious. Do you guys like sleep in alot or something? o.o

Also I am going to be there starting Friday and stuff, so yeah.

On another note, when on trips that i stay at hotels, I tend to never eat big meals. So I will probably just be eating junk food. ^^ So you can won't need to worry about that or nothing. <p>

I figure these times are more like "hey, we're going to most likely end up inadvertently splitting up during the day, so let's make sure to regroup here at these times just so that we can make sure everyone's organized and figure out what sort of evening activities are planned (if any) and what people want to do." <p>

*nod* I see that does make sense now that I think about it....

Oh and I hope I don't need to make a new thread on this matter, but does anyone plan on going to any of the dancing?I know alot of you at Sugoi-con had to leave early because of not staying at the hotel. So will any of you be staying really late and hanging around to dance?
