Pretty good! I didn't sleep well night before last--felt feverish all over my skin on top of being in an apartment with semi-broken AC, when it was near 100 degrees out--but it cooled down outside, I got feeling better, and I slept very well last night. Now I'm eating the last of the leftovers from last night's dinner, which consister of scalloped potatos + pan fried sausage. It is a very tasty breakfast.

How about with you? <p>

Oh man, that sounds good. I just had some waffles. They were okay. I didn't sleep at all last night, as it was over 100 degrees in my area as well.

I expect I'll nap-nap sometime past noon.

My niece is all hyped up and her cartoons won't be on for an hour or so to placate her :(

I've got family coming over later, but with no advance warning. At 11, they told us they would be here at 1. But Mom said I can still go see Pirates of the Carribean 2 with my ex-girlfriend this afternoon, because I don't have a viable social life except for this forum (which my parents don't think I'm still on; they told me I'm not allowed to have contact with anyone more than, like, an hour's drive away. Fuck 'em.) and they want me to do things with people. I can probably even convince my dad to pay for tickets, if I pretend it's not my ex-girlfriend, who he hates. Hell, if I make it out to be a date with some other girl, then he'd probably give us money to go to lunch or something.

I slept like a fucking baby last night, because my air conditioning works and I was up until 2:30 reading Shadow of the Giant, Orson Scott Card's new Ender's Shadow book.

EDIT: Does anyone know what happened to my Thundercats t-shirt? It's bothering me that I can't find it. <p>-_-___-___-___-_-

Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time, as he stood in the parking lot cleaning wax out of his ear with a golf pencil.

Anyways, Spleen, tell us how the movie was.

It was pretty good. My ex-girlfriend wound up bringing a girl who she knows I like, completely without warning me. I show up at the theater and I'm like "Oh, there's Kate, and there's...Alex." Actually, I couldn't tell for the first hour whether it was Alex, who I like, or her identical twin sister Patricia, who is practically married to this guy who just graduated from our school (it sounds like a soap opera, doesn't it?), but when she went to the bathroom, I asked Kate which one it was, because I have trouble figuring out which one's which when they're not together, and she said it was Alex. Then she laughed at me. They already had tickets, so I didn't have much of an opportunity to be chivalrous and attempt to pay for them (Kate would have kicked me in the balls anyway; she hated when I paid for her when we were going out, and now we're both single and she'd hate it even more). I did manage to buy Alex a soda, though. When did movie theaters start defining "a medium soda" as "a cup of soda so large that you need to bring a handcart just to carry it to your seat"?

The movie itself was good. Johnny Depp was nuts, Keira Knightly was smokin' hot in a corset for the first couple scenes (and then totally ruined it by dressing as a man for more than half the movie), and Legolas apparently forgot his bow when he left Rivendell to get his hair dyed black and plastic surgery done in his ears. The scenes with the Kraken were cool, especially when people were being flung. There was a neat three-way swordfight that I don't want to spoil the circumstances of. Oh, and the ending solves nothing.

Afterwards, we went to Applebee's. I had the fried shrimp, which was good. We actually wound up talking for almost four hours at the restaurant, only leaving because Kate's dad called and told her to come home. Much of what we were talking about is quite personal and most of the rest would only make sense if you were in our school. Anyway, yeah. <p>-_-___-___-___-_-

Things are generally going pretty okay as far as things go.

My work place is kinda having a shift around and things are changing, plus my rather cool Lead Tester of the team I work with, Scooby, has left for the day shift so I've now got a lead tester who has more metal on his face then I ever thought humanly possible. Plus he has a bandana. But he seems alright so I'll just have to see how it goes.

Finally starting to test PS3 games but thats about as much as I can sa, if I'm even allowed to say that, so I'm rather looking forward to that all in all.

Family came over this weekend as a sort of surprise. Done a lot of work in the bathroom, has been tiled and looks damn nice too, and my home looks tidier then I ever thought possibile. Give me a day or two and I'll probably ruin it.

Generally at the moment I'm just coasting on by. Got no plans to do anything not really driving to do anything and pretty much just taking each day as it comes. Can get pretty boring but its better then a lot of other alternatives so I'm not going to complain about it.

Valkyrie Profile for the PSP is in the post and heading my way. Should get it tommorow which fills me with joy.
Also been playing City Of Heroes and I have a tendacy to make a new Hero everytime I log on, even if I don't play with 'em.

I also managed to piss some guy off so much he tried to take a swing at me.

So yeah. Stuffs pretty good. <p><div style="text-align:center"> </div>

I just got home from the camp I work at. This week we have 21 campers for the three counselors in the group. It's absolute hell. I have to scream to get the kids to listen to me, and even then my influence only lasts as long as I'm giving them my angry camp counselor death-glare. Except for Robbie. Robbie is the best kid ever, and if everyone in the group was like him, I'd weep for joy. Except he has to pee every 45 minutes, including when we're going to the PlayStation room and I've already challenged him to Budokai 2 (he's in third grade, yet he constantly finds ways to hand me my ass in this game; if it was a Smash Bros. game, it'd be different) and he knows full well we'll never get a chance to play if we're not nearly the first ones in the door.

In other news, Henry, the resident metagaming twink of my gaming group, just got back from a month-long technology program at Rutgers, and I'm probably going to hang out with him after I shower. He's probably in D&D withdrawal, the poor thing. I may just go do something else while he sits in my kitchen and rolls d12s on the table. <p>-_-___-___-___-_-

That's pretty cool sounding, Gus. I wish to hear more!

Today- this morning, at least, I got my fingerprints taken at a sherriff's office a town over, due to it being a part of the adoption process (Dad and Stepmom are adopting my neice because my sister is no good and doesn't care about her daughter!).

There were two kids, younger than I by a year or so, working the Livescan booth of the office. One of them's job was to clean the scanning machine, and I guess the other's job was to play a Nanaca Crash ripoff on his laptop. It was pretty amusing how the kid obviously wanted nothing to do with touching another guy's hands, but that's what he had to do.

Anyways, the process of scanning went fine, and since I had my fingerprints scanned two months ago for similar reasons (why couldn't they just send a copy over to the other people who needed them?), I know that I am not wanted for any crimes. GOOD FOR ME!

Also, Sir Priam, feel free to move it if you wish. The only reason I posted it here is due to more people checking it.

Augh, I have to go to the doctor today and get a shot. To test if I have tuberculosis. What a gyp! My dad and step mom are adopting my niece (My sister is no good :( ) so I gotta do all this stuff like take medical exams and clean my room and get my fingerprints scanned and lock up all electrical outlets. It's a hassle! Not to mention the kid is a brat most of the time anyways. OH WELL. She still hasn't solved the Rubik's cube I gave her last week. Good for nothing two-year-old.

Our local grocery store stocks coconut coke. seriously. In three liter bottles. Wow.

I found an individual serving the other day (glass bottle!) so I got it to try it out. Cuz, dude. Coconut coke. That's something to tell the grankids, eh? Eh? It was even a reasonable price, 59 centavos. Can't get something that good out of a vending machine.

Anyway, so what does it taste like? Well, coconut, mostly. But, you know. Liquid, and carbonated.

It's weird. I like coconut, but I don't go grabbing bunches of the stuff to eat alone--it's normally part of a chocolate or something. So here I am, drinking this soda, and after every sip, I keep thinking to myself "You know, I'm really not sure I like this stuff." I kept that up long enough to finish the whole bottle, over the course of maybe an hour or so.

I don't think I'll buy another, unless as an experiment to go along with some choco-sweets.

On the other hand, the apple coke was damn awesome. The pomegrate <s>soda</s> coke by another company was even better.

[edit] Crap, inconsistency! Fix't. <p>

... It took me a while to realize that you meant Soda. Or pop. I forget which one is the stupid name for carbonated beverage.

How exactly did a brand name (with a specific taste no less) get to be a blanket term for anything fizzy? This has never quite made sense to me... is it just because it was the first?

Oh, and my sister and I aren't speaking right now. HUGE fight. ... at least I'm getting some peace. ._. <p><hr />

I think Coke with coconut flavoring would have tasted better, honestly. This was just totally coconut.

I had some guava coke yesterday. I don't even know what a guava is, but the front of the bottle helpfully pictured some of the (presumedly) fruit. For some reason, the drink was dyed pink. I'm guessing the fruit's flesh is pink, but the coke itself also tastes pink. Mike agrees. Kinda rindy.

RESULTS:

coconut < guava < apple < pomegrate <p>

It should be fun.

Also I had some really awesome Hawaiian BBQ beef tonight it was so good :3 I definitely have a new good-food hang-out for when I have cash to spare for such things.

Ahh, the coke =/= soda issue. Thank God we avoided that one again. *shivers*

So I started my first day as a real workin' man yesterday. Doing that captioning for deaf and hard of hearing thing that Priam is doing, only less of it since I'm a rookie and he's a veteran. I'm sure it won't be long before I've got fucked up schedules, too! Ironically enough, my first class, a math class that I thought was going to be a challenge ended up being a breeze, and the funky "social work" class that I thought was going to be a breeze posed a challenge. All in all though, not a bad first day, despite the fact that one of my two laptops is on the fritz.

I actually ended up being Priam's transportation to and from Wright State because his car exploded again, but that was cool 'cause it meant I had an additional reason to get there early and take care of the business of familiarizing myself with the campus and getting a parking permit. It was also cool because it meant I got to spend time at his place and was thusly exposed to the awesome that is Shadow Hearts: Covenant. Damn that game is awesome.

True story: I made it from 7:15 AM to 4:00 PM on a single slice of bread and an energy drink.

First class today is around noonish, so I need to be heading out pretty soon. So, I'm gonna go get ready to do that. <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>Edited by: [url=http://p068.ezboard.com/brpgww60462.showUserPublicProfile?gid=brainwalker>BrainWalker</A]&nbsp; Image at: 9/6/06 10:59

Deprivation is bad, but waking up early specifically to eat something is pretty hard. Especially when you're not used to a formalized 'breakfast' meal event. On the other hand, it is very easy to be in a rush to get to work, and have minimal time while at work to actually eat something.

I, today, have discovered that it is a very bad idea to eat only bread before drinking an energy drink. While eating nothing before having one of those is bad, in that the body tries to draw upon energy resources that simply aren't there (and causing quite a bit of discomfort due to this), eating only bread is worse because things that are high in fiber tend to also be good gas-producers and laxatives.

Thank Dog that first class was only an hour long and not the usual two hour affair. I don't think I would have made it.

Also, being a freelance worker for on-site work is not fun in the fucking least when you are forced by happenstance to be without a car for six days. Having a fairly crucial job interview during this time is even less fun. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. You know, despite the horrific warnings of both Priam and Shini, I didn't really experience any ill effects from my energy drink adventure. Not that I plan to do it again anytime soon.

Also, a man's life is not complete without stories about really stupid shit he's done, like going eight and a half hours on an energy drink and a slice of bread. Besides, it's not like I was actively trying to be retarded, I just have really terrible time-management skills. <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>Edited by: [url=http://p068.ezboard.com/brpgww60462.showUserPublicProfile?gid=brainwalker>BrainWalker</A]&nbsp; Image at: 9/6/06 20:32

Hey, that's not the worst you could have done. I once went two and a half days without eating and didn't notice; just forgot to. Not just sitting somewhere most of the time either; I was up and about, even went for a walk at some point during that.

Wasn't even really that hungry when I did eat, oddly enough. <p><hr />

I've always said the worst part about fasting on Yom Kippur is that you've got an empty stomach and a couple hours to sit around and listen to a rabbi tell you how much you sinned since the last time you did this. There's nothing engaging to take your mind off hunger.

Anyway, back in the school grind tomorrow. Leaving bright and early so Henry and I can figure out where the fuck our parking spot is in the damn school parking log.

I went school supply shopping today. Why does going school supply shopping give me a warm and excited feeling, and the thought of going to school gnaw at my intestines like a colony of termites? That doesn't seem to make any sense.

The good part about it is, if we all recall our schedules correctly as explained by our guidance counselors last year, I should be having my Honors Western Civilization class last period with Henry and Joe (Darkknight). I had this teacher last year for US History II, and I recall that he let us sit anywhere we wanted to. I have the weirdest feeling there's going to be a very D&D-centered corner somewhere in that room, probably in the back. I think I also have gym with my girlfriend, but that doesn't mean anything; I'll likely request something like football or volleyball for my gym class, and she'll do ping-pong or powerwalking. Hoping I can get a lunch like sophomore year, when I was surrounded by what would become the core of my D&D group.

They're supposed to be moving my homeroom to the band room, but keeping my locker where it is. That means I will literally have a two-minute walk from homeroom to my locker, whereas in the past I could spit from the doorway of homeroom and hit my locker (if I aimed well). I have the strangest feeling that the entrance closest to my parking spot will be the point farthest from either of those, because when God fucks me, God really fucks me. When it rains, it pours.

You know what's weird that I realized? Being, as I am, still the youngest of the regulars here at RPGWW and being, as I am, in my senior year of high school, this makes me probably the only one on the forum who's still in high school. Doesn't that make you feel kind of old, and also kind of like this forum has a hard time keeping the new blood it gets?

EDIT: Hey, I almost forgot: I started a Secret of Mana file with Spaceman today. I'm the Boy, he's the Girl (we're using the "official" names for the characters like I did when I apped the hero on Videoland, so Randi and Purim). We were up to the boss fight where you get Undine when we stopped today. I was supposed to start one with Priam, but he's a busy guy. Maybe we can start up a Secret of Mana II file instead, when we finally do play. <p>-_-___-___-___-_-
