Thank you for turning the discussion forum into your own AIM window.

Please now pimp your links to Chatalot and swap pornography.

Also, whomever has read the SoT series and has ceased, they should really read past book four and five, which as far as I'm concered are the worst in the series, and read book six, seven and eight. Especially Pillars of Creation, which is one of best I think in the series, I would say third best after the third and first. <p><div style="text-align:center">

I stopped reading Sword of Truth when I finally noticed the creepy sexual stuff. Yes, I got all the way through the first book without going "dude, S&M." I think what finally gave me pause was the discussion of ear rape.

So...yeah. Never got throught the second book.

I agree that those are definitely the low points in the ToS series.

Where was the ear raping?

And Watchers by Doon Koontz is also very, very good. <p>

It was when the Mord Sith used their Agiel's on Richards ear.

Honestly the sexual depravity doesn't bother me, nor does the graphic description of blood and guts. Granted most of the villians have some sort of sexual depravity to them but meh, there are people like that in the world. <p><div style="text-align:center">

Please note that within the Sword of Truth series that there is at least one strange sexual act described in each book. Always. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. I thought he meant actual ear raping. You know, like a guy taking his... Yeah, nevermind on that.

I am currently reading the Wheel of Time series for the sixth time. <p>

Let's see the first one had the S&M and the pediophilia. The second....I can't think of it. The third had the incest and rape. Fourth was the creepy hooker killing. Fifth they were all swingers, which isn't too bad, well there was the STDs. Sixth....nothing comes to mind. Seventh was again the rape and the killing. Eighth was....nothing comes to mind.

So only most of the books have strange sexual acts. <p><div style="text-align:center">

The second one had the demon sex with the Sisters, as I recall. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Some sort of ritual to initiate a Dark Sister, I think? Big nasty Underworld demon wolf thing summoned, Sister takes a ride, thing dies. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. The huge demon dog from hell (who has a huge and spiney penis and is gorilla-ish) rides the Sister like a pony. That is all. <p>

Not true. The Sister rides the beastie, taking its power or summat. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Serious Forum does not seem like a place to 'compete'. While I'll admit I'm guilty of spamming in the wrong places at times, it irks me when people say 'well, you lose' or '<so and so> totally wins'. Cause, y'know, it's dum.

Also: delicious. The Zombie Survival Manual is a classic and a half.

Wow, we all have a lot of reading interests in common!

I have a large section of David Eddings, Terry Brooks, Joel Rosenberg, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Anne McCaffrey, Issac Asimov, Terry Pratchet, Ellis Peters, Mercedes Lackey, Tolkien, Agatha Christe, Arthur C. Clark, Roger Zelazney, Terry Goodkind, Piers Anthony, Robert Jordan, etc.

Plus a ton of 1st year humanities survey texts. Several tons of Greek and Roman social history, art, archaeology and literature texts. Many books on theology, comparative mythology, natural healing and herbology, and on and on....

Okay, so I have way too many books. Wait a sec... Is that even possible? Nah!

I never mentioned who lost I simply implied it.

Also:
I have too many books and authors to name, so I will just throw out the five most currently read authors:

George RR Martinson
Terry Goodkind
Mercedes Lackey
Jane Yolen

and

Dean Koontz

If it's fantasy or Sci Fi there is a good chance I have read at least one of the books by each 'major' author. Other books tend to support my interest in the middle ages, medieval weaponry, history, foreign cultures, etc.

I also have an assortment of college textbooks and so on.

First book is The Winter King, it's really good. <p>
