need comp help

I'm trying to download Mozilla Firebird, as per my brother's suggestion. However, when I try to run the EXE file, I get the following error:

"A required .DLL file, XPCOM.DLL, was not found"

I tried following the directions found here, but that was a no go.

Any suggestions? <p>

One suggestion I'd make, if you use windows, is that you might want to check out the microsoft windows updates site because you just might not have the file you need in the first place.

There is absolutely no reason the file needed to run a third-party, open-source browser program would be included in a Microsoft service pack.

Try using a "find file" command to see if the file exists on your computer anywhere--if it is, there's obviously some other problem, but if there isn't, have someone send it to you and put it in the appropriate place. <p>
