Right. A rant, a vent, whatever, and computer deprival.

*sigh*

...'kay, I'm going to rant, vent, and all that other stuff. Maybe swear, maybe not, dunno what the heck I'm going to type just trying to get it out, not too concerned with format at the moment...

Well, I'm taking a pretty big courseload this year. Junior year of highschool and all that shizzle, taking three AP classes and two honors, and one non-advanced elective. Hell, I'm even taking two math classes.

Problem? Math class has the most homework, and TWO classes like that means that I don't have time for much else. Solution? I'm hoping to drop one of them. Statistics, to be specific, as I actually LIKE calculus.

But problem to THAT?

I MISSED THE DEADLINE FOR CLASS CHANGES BY ONE DAY.

RAWR.

And there are NO exceptions. District policy. -.-;;

So... I'm still talking to the school guidance counsellor, but from what Mom said, it seems like the only option is to downgrade one of my other classes— like physics honors to regular physics, or AP history to regular.

Except that I LIKE all the other classes except statistics, and am doing well in them.

I CAN stick it out until next semester, until I CAN drop it, but by then, my GPA is likely to plummet. A lot of my friends and counsellors are trying to tell me that GPA isn't all it's cracked up to be, but I'd rather not have to worry about it and just keep it up above a 3.0 at least. Which I doubt is going to happen.

And my parents, while sympathetic and all, and saying that as long as I'm trying, they don't mind even if I get a D in the class as long as I'm TRYING and I pass the course for this semester...

They're disconnecting me from the internet, as they figure it's one of my distractions. In other words, I won't be able to get online at home for... I dunno. They're saying that I can use weekends as well, but since they're also planning on getting me a tutor or something for then as well, and THEN I have to use the other part of the time for researching for this big fat history project....

Right.

I'll still be able to post at least on the boards once a day, at the school, probably, but AIM is likely shot to hell. And since this is the thing that actually keeps me from spazzing out after school...

*sigh*

I dunno, I actually calmed down a lot from my initial reaction, where I just wanted to scream and pout and throw a tantrum like the spoiled little brat I probably am, but I'm still in "wah, pity me" mode.

*headsmack*

Actually, they're probably making good sense, for my grades at least, but even though school's important and all, I really don't want to be a stressball over it. And since it's what I do for relaxing, it probably is going to end up with me being one.

Myeah.

Missed it by one day? harsh. Well, not much will solve that problem, so your metaphorical balls are in a sling ... ro whatever the hell that means. In any case, the SU at the UofA managed to get the deadline for class changes pushed back by a week. I know you can't change your current state of affairs now, but maybe you could talk to an SU representative and try and get some sort of legislation passed so other students don't have t get royally boned.

Yeesh... one day. I've been there.

Anyway, I don't think I need to give any advice since you seem to already have a pretty good handle on the situation. It's gonna be a rough semester, but I'm sure you can handle it.

I never agreed with the whole "disconnecting the internet" philosophy, though. Personally, I think it'd be a much better idea to ration it out over the weekdays rather than having to save it for the weekend. Sometimes you just gotta chill out, you know?

Image

I have to admit that what I do here is start failing madly. But you can't do that.
<Chat> <Matto says, "What's up?"
