How to make a PS charater.

Knowing me, something like this is already posted up somewhere. I looked, but i didn't see anything. I've been wanting to do a PS charater for a while now, and well, is there a link to a walkthrough type thing that I can look at or is it one of those, 'someone has to show you what to do' deals? I can pick up things pretty fast, so...if someone could point me in the right direction...I'd be happy.
