Pat made a face.

"Bleah, figures. Boys always mess everything up," she said blithely, apparently ignoring the fact that two of her companions were male.

Ana, after looking around one last time, headed out of the faculty center. Miss Langstaff's polite query "Did you find who you were looking for?" was met by "No, sorry." Because Ana was too diplomatic to say something like "Well, I was looking for someone more important, but you'll have to do." She mentally grimaced at the thought.

And with that, she headed over toward the mecha bay.

Ana makes her way toward the mecha bay, and soon finds herself at the service desk.

"What can I do you for?" asks a board-looking young man, probably a grad student, who is putzing around with something on his computer, which Ana cannot see.

Archie chose to ignore this statement. Pat didn't mean anything much by it, he was sure.

"Is she allowed visitors?"

Take our kumquats?

"I'd better be!" Rally called out. "C'mon in, guys!"

And as soon as it got within "reach", Rally was going to take that water. She didn't care if there was a straw or not, she'd lap it up, she was so thirsty...

Ana briefly ponders asking him to check out some mecha for her, but then realizes that it would probably take higher authority than him to do so. But she doesn't really know.

"Yes, can I have the rules for extracurricular use of our mecha?" she asks him.

"It's pretty simple," says the grad student. "You need to fill out a request slip, and the chief looks it over. You'll be completely liable for any damages and legal charges, of course. That's why people don't take these things out on dates, you know?"

He grins as he fishes out a form, and hands it to Ana. "Whacha got planned, anyways?"

Well, there was nothing left for Leo to do other than to walk in.

"Hey!" he greeted, cheerfully. "Feeling better?"

"Up and about already, eh?" Archie said, making his own way in. He wasn't exactly familiar with such situations, but he'd have thought that being clobbered by an engine would result in a bit more downtime.

Rally received a blank look from Archie. He seemed genuinely clueless as to what he'd said to elicit such a response.

Pat was off in her own world, still speculating on how recruits were discovered, and how boys were deloused of cooties.

Her rather blank expression snapped off as she went "Huh?" at Rally's chuckle, though still in the other room.

She gave Amelia a questioning glance, then looked about.

"Should probably find a nurse, just give 'em a heads up so they don't chew us out."

Ana almost said, "Urban renovation," but figured that that kind of euphemism would probably get her into trouble. Finally, she decided to go with a vague version of the truth.

"I need it to help a friend of mine find something. It's in a hazardous place, and I figured battlesuits might keep us safe."

"You'll have to be a bit more thorough than that on the form," says the grad student, as he hands Ana the form and a pen.

The form is mostly standard stuff. Name, Student ID, date, reason for taking, machines taken, for how long, and a place for signitures.

"Er, well, I don't think the nurses would like that very much," responded Leo, not quite sure of what to say.

"So...when are you supposed to get out of here?"

When last we left our heroes, they had just checked Rally out of MAC's hospital. But where will they go from there?

And what of Ana, working away as night falls.

Having gathered a good deal of information, certainly a meeting would be a good idea.

HEY! DEATH!

Unread postby Zemyla » Wed Jun 29, 2005 2:13 pm

Ana said to the clerk, "Okay, I'll fill this out and bring it back to you." And with that, she left for her dorm room.

Arriving, she found that Tanaka had gone, leaving a note that said she had gone to her job. Ana did not envy her; even working part-time would have shriveled up all the free time that she preferred to use keeping up with the social situation.

Since she could almost literally feel the writer's block, she took a bit of time to insert the map of the terrorist's compound into the computer, instructing it to look for possible secret paths (such as areas that are left inexplicably blank).

Searching for inspiration, she also told the computer to look through the unclassified archives and look up reasons that people had given previously that had worked, and as an afterthought, she also told it to correlate with news reports of mecha activity on the dates given by the documents.

She then sat herself down at a desk and tried to come up with something on her own, allowing herself a brief thought of I wonder what the others are doing right now...

((OOC: Fucking ezCodes...))

Ana's POACH started ringing, since it had the abilities of a phone. A glance at the screen showed that it was Leo who was calling. Probably they've found something interesting.[i] she thought.

She pushed the "Talk" button. "Hey Leo. What have you got?"

Ana replied, "I was thinking Becker's Cafe. It's a nice, quiet place, and it has absolutely the best coffee. I'll get you the directions." She then paused. "So, where are you now?"

Leo replied, "Waiting outside the office. And, erm...I was thinking more like someplace in the school. Like in the library, or something."

Ana replied doubtfully, "Okay, but there would be more people there. But it'll work."

"Alright. When can you make it own there?"

"I'm at my dorm, so about 10 minutes."

"Great. Just let me tell the others." He then covered the mouthpiece of his phone, while Ana started gathering her stuff while waiting for Leo.

Not having much to contribute to the conversation at the moment, Archie fell in behind Leo. The library seemed as good a place as any to meet. Quieter than most places, certainly.

Ana replied, "See you there." and hung up.

She then gathered up materials to show to them; the map of the terrorist building, the forms for checking out the mecha, and the rumors and odd information she had found online.

Afterwards, she went to wait for them at the library.

BLEWM!

Unread postby Uncle Pervy » Mon Jul 18, 2005 6:17 pm

The Library tends fairly empty at this time of the evening. Most of the serious studiers have taken their materials and went back to their rooms. Thus, the many tables are mostly empty, save for a few stragglers. A row of public (Or more accurately: crappy) computers stands not far from the tables, while bookshelves line the walls in rows. A bored-looking usagijin with dozens of ear pierces mans the desk, currently mucking about on a handheld video game system.

Ana and the rest arrive at roughly the same time.
