The Wanderer dropped low, holding his sword up to protect his head and swinging his leg out and round to hook behind the Leader's. His dagger hand punched upwards towards the man's stomach.

IN THE ENCAMPMENT OF KAN

The Spike ball thrown by the Sage smashed into one, puncturing his chest and making him fall to the ground, water pouring profusely from his wounds. the other two, however, leapt on him, pinning him to the ground.

Learning winced and almost lost is his footing as a stone stung his shoulder, and he looked behind him at the two followers of Kan responsible.
He aimed the gauntlet at the one who had a stone yet raised in his hand and press his armored fingers into the palm of the gauntlet.

The blade blurred through the air,Learner didn't bother to see if it hit,he ran for the Library, they may be followers of the water god,but he had a direct command from Li,and they were not directly in his path.
He saw wanderer and felt hesitant to leave him to fight three Kan warriors alone, but Li had commanded him.
He pushed his way past the Librarian and into the library.

Kan's encampment

With no other options the Sage closed his eyes before his adversaries could finish him and brought forth spikes all around him which then wrapped around make a shell of stone.

The battle was now in the hands of the Defender until the Sage could gather enough energy to call forth anything larger.

The dagger blunged into the Leaders stomach while the broad sword crashed againt the Wanderers sword, but to the Wanderers suprise blood did not spew out but water instead. The mace in the Leaders right arm was still in a crash course with his enemy while the Leader seemed to grunt only slightly at this wound.

The Artist tripped and fell just outside the Libary. She grunted. She sensed some strange music coming from behind her.

"Now THAT is a creator," she said in a dazed voice. She then turned back around and started to stand up, walking once again toward the top of the Volcano, determined not to trip again.

He pulled the dagger out, rolling away, but not in time to prevent the mace glancing off his shoulder painfully. The Wanderer did not know what damage had been dealt, but he knew he had no time to worry about it. Before the Leader could launch another assault he threw the dagger at his foe's head, judging that this might be rather more fatal than his previous attack.

Near the library within sight of the batte between the Leader and Wanderer

The blade which the Learner had launched pieced it's intended victim in the throat. The man dropped to his knees hold his throat as water pored out choking and gargling his then fell while his comrades rushed to the aid of thier Leader.

Behind them another three men had made it up the ledge and were soon rushing toward the midst of town in search of the Artist

The spikes summoned by the Sage impaled his attackers.

The others that gathered around him looked at the protection he had conjured up, and stabbed at it for a bit. As it became apparent that they were not going to penetrate it, they shrugged at each other and the 9 left over ran at the Defender, joining the 9 that were already attacking him.

In front of the library battle between Wanderer and Kan followers

Although hurt the Leader was still in full swing without enough time to react to the flying dagger in full, continuing his spin he placed his right shoulder in the path between the dagger and his head and grunted as the blade missed his shoulder and tore a gash through the back of his neck. At which point he slightly stumbled forward.

Running had never been Learner's strong point but the boundless energy he was feeling at being spoken to directly by Li hastened him,he saw the back door of the Library was open and rushed through it,he saw the girl up ahead and ran as he had never run to catch her,as he neared, too winded to say anything to her,he simply sent a mental prayer to Li for strength and wisdom in fulfilling this task she had appointed him.
Slowing down to the Artist's slow pace as he got close he began scanning the area for danger, and reloading his gauntlet so he could have three shots ready if needed.
Li hadn't said to protect her,but he couldn't follow her anywhere if she died.Still,if it came to that,he would follow her even in death, such was his devotion to the fire goddess.

However, a small group of them walking around the library caught his eye.

He scratched his head. "But that's the right direction! why on earth would they want to go up there?"

Ah!

Unread postby FinsterDieTragik » Fri Apr 16, 2004 7:44 pm

Learner flinched when a glance back revealed the 5 followers of Kan making their way up the path.
Learner turned, and aimed carefully,he had seen these blades blast cleanly through a thick board when he had practiced with them,as long as they didn't hit bone they might be able to go through one Kan warrior and wound another, aiming for the stomach of the closest enemy,he fired.Greatly reducing the chance of killing one in the hope of wounding two.
Then he ran to catch up to Artist, the path was somewhat narrow, though not horribly so,hopefully if a few of the front warriors were injured it would slow the others down.

The path to the summit

With a loud howl of pain the first of five fell with a large whole in the center of this stomach which was not pouring out water and what looks like a pinkish intenstines. It was truely an unsightly scene as the dagger seemed to have hit the man's spine and exit through his left side. The other four pulled out small talisman which seemed to create a small shield of water before then and then reached for their sabres and and paused watching the movements of the Learner.

His legs ached and his lungs didn't seems to acknowledge the great gulps of air he was taking.
Once he got close to the Artist again he turned to face the Kan warriors, sweat dripping down his face but determination glowing like hot coal in his eyes.

Learner continued to follow Artist when he saw two warriors lose interest altogether and the others didn't seem to be moving incredibly fast,he didn't shoot again, not wanting to give them any reason to speed up.Still,he didn't take the time to reload as that could put him in a vulnerable position if they put on a burst of speed.

The Wanderer took his chance, for if he didn't he may never get another. As the Leader stumbled, he swung his blade round through the air, on a direct collision course with the man's neck.

The two men inside quickly halted as they heard the words of the Wanderer. Turning toward him with fear emitting from their every gesture. One of them began to studder trying to explain their actions so that they may be spared, "W..We ca...came... We came b..b...because Kan asked us to a...a...avenge the men you two k..k..kill."

"We aren't evil we're just doing the will of our God!" said the second man gathering some courage from his faith. "Kan is angry and feels he needs to punish those who may do him wrong." As he finished his sentence he turned to look and see if the other two were still on the path to the summit. Seeing that they were still awaiting help to finish their mission he turned his attention to the Wanderer once again and took hold of a small talisman which hung at his waist. Fear trickling down their faces in the form of sweat drops they thought their actions thru as much as their simple minds would let them before finally turning to run toward their comrades holding small shields which were generated by the magick cast on the talismans.

The Summit

The men on the Summit ran after the Learner and the Artist leaving their injured friend to fend for himself now that the Wanderer had left.

The City Below

The stench of death was heavy in the city below as the last of the remaining followers of Kan continued to pilage the town taking the villagers without a bit of remorse. In the streets there was a small girl dressed in a red robe leaning over what seemed to be her mothers corpse, but she was not crying nor sad simply waiting to see if Li would soon come and save them from this horror. Near the entrance was a group of men with what seemed to be rifle which fired small pellets of napalm which they used to fend off the intruders as much as they could.

Death was feating on this tragic day as the stone homes slowly crumbled one after another. All the while the attackers scoffed at the futile attempts the villagers made to defend themselves. Just then one of the men took up the small girl while she was leaning over her mother and pinned her to the near by home using his sabre. Tears slowly came forth from the childs eyes as the man began to lick her face.

Lava in the eyes... that woudl be a bad thing.

Somehow it didn't occur to her it was strange that wasnt dead now, singed to death by the lava. She swam to a ledge and climbed on it, dripping with molten rock. She then smiled as she saw a glowing form sitting upon a fiery chair not far off.

Depths of Beauty

Unread postby sculptor85 » Sat Apr 17, 2004 5:57 pm

Inside the Volcano

The glow of a billion candles emitted from the depths of the Volcano where the magma pool bubbled. Strangely enough the Magma did not bubble franticly but instead slowly with a sort of wisdom. While the walls of the emence cave seemed to radiat with omnipresent power. There was small islands in the midst of the glowing magma which were shaped in small circle and to the West side of the Volcano was there was an enormous throne.

Beauty, Grace, and Intricasy would only begin to describe the footing of the glorious throne. Words alone did not compare to this magnificent sight as magma trickled down like gems from the walls down the side of the luminous red chair upon which rest a far more beautiful being.

She sat properly upon her throne wearing a large crested crown with the insignia,

insribed up upon it. Her lips were red and her skin pale white with long flow red hair following to her sides. Long slender arms extended before her hold a small book. Of the many points which made her stand out the fact that she was a blaze was truely a marvel.

Her attention now turned from her book to her visitors as he slowly cracked a smile.
