Rudolf stood under the steaming water of the shower, whistling a bouncy little tune that had stuck itself in his head. His eyes closed and he moved his face directly into the stream, enjoying the sensation of the water. A nice hot shower felt fantastic, especially after the events of the previous day. Wonder whatever happened to that girl, Deeum? he thought. She's got to learn that orders can be ignored, given the right situation. Suddenly he stopped washing, sniffing the air.

It smells pretty in here.

Squeaky clean, Rudolf exited the shower, feeling like a new man. One look in the mirror, and his catchy whistling tune ended midnote. Why was his hair @*#$&$! pink?

He grabbed his clothes ran back to his room in a complete state of panic.

And now to breed some hatred for old Stahl here...

Unread postby Jak Snide » Fri Jun 21, 2002 6:49 am

The prank had truelly been a sucess. The cries of the boys, fearing for their masculinity, could be heard all around the school, waking those who might have still been asleep. If Shasti and Jelai were awake, they were probably giggling at the havoc they had wraught. And besides, it was just a silly prank.

Right?

The intercom buzzed into life, and remained silent for a second. Then the voice of Kuro Stahl eminated from every speaker on campus.

"The ones responsible for the contamination of the shower water are to report to my office immediatly. Failure to do so will result in the automatic failure of all SeeD candidates in todays exam."

-----

Stahl sat back in his chair, confident that his bluff of power would work. His once short black hair hair was now bright pink, although this alone didn't bother him too much. Instead, he was already thinking of the reprocussions that the prank would have in the days events.

Deeum got out of the showers and quickly put a towel around her waist, as she heard the intrcom, along with some faint screaming from some of the males of the dorm. o.O;

Anjelai stopped suddenly, hearing the announcements. She had gone from the track to the weight room, and had paused in mid-curl with a dumbbell.

He.... he's joking, right? she thought numbly. But this is STAHL we're talking here... She set down the weight quickly, and went in a gallop to find Shasti, to prevent the girl from confessing.

I can take the blame for both of us, Jelai thought wildly. Shasti's the GOOD one, she'll lose any credence....

Rudolf looked up from the mirror in his room at message booming from the intercom. Wow, Sadistic Stahl's really worked up over this one. That's it then, whoever it is has to step up now. Hell, I don't doubt for a minute that Stahl would back that one up. He threw on a pair of clothes and ran from his room, towards Instructor Stahl's office. And I'll be there to see who it was. And when Stahl's done with him, it'll be my turn.

He turned a corner, managing a grin for a pair of snickering female students as he passed. If there's anything left, that is, he added. This time the grin was sincere.

Luckily Ash hadn't gone into the showers... he was too busy with his early morning routine of practicing sword fencing in his room. He couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of what his students will look like today for the tests. Then the image of Stahl with Pink Hair made him stop in mid practice in a huge burst of uncontrollable laughter. The booming laughter could be heard to all those near his room.

Jelai galloped past Ash's quarters, on her way to the cafeteria where she thought Shasti might be.

Glad Instructor Fanrico's amused, at least, she thought, unable to make the thought sour despite the circumstances. Privately, she admitted to herself that she once had a bit of a crush on the teacher, although the centaur had long gotten over it.

Kinda hard to think about kissing and holding hands or dancing when you tower over the guy, her wry thoughts informed her.

Ash sheathed his GunBlade and sat down to take a break. He peered out again onto the horizon. He was interested mostly in what today would bring during the tests. This kind of event is a big thing to him, to see if he had trained his students correctly. Sure he was harsh in some of his methods... but it was for the best. He at least hoped that some of the students he had been keeping an eye on in training would pass.

Navin walked out of his dormitory, after grabbing some of his things in preparation. He looked at his pink hair, and realized he didn't look half bad with it.
Should I....nah.
The announcement came on.
So, someone did that themselves? What is SeeD security coming to....
He walked around, hoping to find someone who'd explain.

The good girl . . .

Unread postby Choark » Sun Jun 23, 2002 5:15 am

Shasti had long left the caffteria and was taking a slow walk towards Kuro Stahl's office. She looked at all the boy's and there lovely pink hair and surpressed gigglering outloud.

I knew I shouldn't of done this. Why did I?

The sound of the men plotting there revenge or "Beating to a bloody pulp" whoever did this to them didn't make her feel any better.

Today is just the written exam... right? I haven't done this at any othe important time have I?

Questioning herself, Shasti hadn't noticed how close she got to the office. She sighed, she wasn't sure what she would do if she was expelled from school.

Even worse, she wasn't sure what her Father would do.

A hand suddebly grabbed her out of nowhere and she nearly jumped out of her skin. She turned to see Dane there, pink hair and all.

She expected him to be angry. She almost expected him to be attacking her.

Instead he stood there smiling at her.

Leaning in close he whispered to her.

"Sis, don't think he's got as much power as he does alright?"

With those odd words her brother left. She had never heard Dane being so nice to her before. Normally he was all angry and shouting, or just being stupid and having fun OR just laying in a hospital bed from after a fight.

Yet after this prank he had come to her smiling.

How'd he know it was me?

Shaking her head, she looked at Kuro Stahl's office. She wasn't sure if she had the courage to do this. . . not alone.

Anjelai reached the cafeteria...

And found that Shasti was gone.

Panicking, she changed course, running back to the office.

Maybe Shasti's already on her way there... if I confess first, maybe they'll let her off— She gave hasty apologies to many of the people who had to slam themselves against walls to avoid her trampling them, but the centaur didn't slow.

SHASTI! Now she could see her friend by Stahl's door, as well as the quickly approaching Rudolf.

Come to see who's caused his chromatic enhancement, eh? Maybe even a few plans for punishment. Well, weapons aren't allowed, and considering how big I am, I can take hits better than Shasti.

" Shasti!" she whispered, grabbing her friend by the shoulders. Quickly, before she lost her nerve, she started talking.

"C'mon Shasti, I can take the blame for both of us, 'kay? You're the good one, people won't think it's you anyways... and you know me." Anjelai gave a lopsided grin. "Big husky halfbreed mutt. Plus if any of the guys start looking for 'revenge', I can soak up more damage. I'll just do it, right?" She began reaching for the door.

Rudolf slowed his pace as he approached Stahl's office. He stared at the two girls in front of the door warily. Were they the ones responsible? Jelai he knew, but he'd never spoken with the other girl before. Neither had been on his mental list of suspects.

He crossed his arms and stood silently. His plan had hit a snag; these weren't two people he was ready to mess up a bit, for different reasons of course. He decided to wait and watch to see just who was going to enter the office before them.

"Forget it Jei!" Shasti said, shaking her head. "The one person I can't let take the blame is you."

Shasti didn't want to say it but Jedai is one of the few non humans in the Seed School. She could imagine it now. How easy it would be to blame all of this on the freak, the outsider, the different one. Well Shasti won't let them do that to her friend. Never.

"Jei. Thanks. But it was me who did this and it will be me who takes the blame. I can't let you. . ."

Shasti shook her head, fighting back her tears. She didn't want to do this, she needed to become a Seed. She needed to show her Father what she could do and not dissapoint him. She needed to show Dane she was strong to. She needed to show herself she was good at something worthwhile.

"I won't let you take the blame Jei. You're the better Seed then me and. . ." you're my best friend. . .

But Shasti knew, knew that although she needed this, she couldn't do it if it meant her best friend was expelled.

Shasti tried to shake off her friends grip and head for the office. "Please, let me go."

If we argue all day, then Stahl's gonna make us flunk

Jelai opened her mouth again to begin talking, but—

We both feel too strongly about this. We've got our differences, but in the IMPORTANT things... like friendship... we're too much alike. We'd take FOREVER trying to take the blame for eachother... and if we argue all day, we'll run out of time and Stahl's gonna make us ALL flunk the test.

"Fine then. But we're doing it together, hear? Both of us get the blame." Jelai didn't like her ready capitulation, but it was better than spending endless time trying to convince Shasti to let her go instead.

Ash exited his room, decked out in his usual attire. He fought back laughter at the sight of the students with pink hair.

Instructor Kuro Stahl sat at his desk, looking as cold as ice. Of course, the bright pink hair didn't help, but he still managed to do a good job at looking frightening. The two chairs that normally faced his desk were now stacked up against the wall, out of the way.

The man remained silent, waiting for the other culprit to enter.

"I wonder if those two who caused---" Deeum thought before she even noticed the majority of the boys in the garden had PINK hair.
So she snickered silently, trying her best NOT to bust out laughing, giving away her little action (Being nosey >P)

Motivation?

As Stahl had presumed, it WAS a prickly question.

No hope but to wing it. Just saying "it seemed fun at the time" is PROBABLY not a good idea...

Anjelai began speaking. "We-ell... it's raised morale for the feminine side of the Garden, and relieved tension concerning the test. With most of the males preoccupied with their hair—"

Mustn't look at his pinkness... or I'll burst out laughing...

"— they are no longer so concerned and worried over their tests. In addition..."

Running out of high-falutin' words to disguise simple ideas...

"I'm not so concerned over the coloration. It washes out in five rinses."

Last bit isn't exactly what he wanted, but maybe if I circumvent enough, he won't notice.

She discreetly shifted her weight to her back hooves.

"Of course, now that the male students are now less concerned with their tests, how do you think that will reflect on their performance? Remember, this is nothing as casual as the simple process of trying candidates against monsters. This is an actual mission, where mistakes due to lack of concentration can cost lives. Should such an event occur, the responsibility for the loss of life will be levied upon your shoulders."

He glanced between the two, indicating that the little hacker wasn't being ignored here.

"On another note, the Gardens reputation is at stake. How would our employer view the arrival of the elite mercenary force, SeeD, only to find that they appear less than serious."

He paused again.

"And finally, the welfare of the students, physically and mentally, is in the hands of the faculty. Not the other students."

However a more surprising fact came to her attention and troubled her.

Unread postby Jak Snide » Tue Jun 25, 2002 6:27 pm

Stahl cursed silently. He still hadn't finished juggling things with the rest of the faculty. The practical exam was an actual mission, and there were two openings for such an exam. One was in two days time; the territorial war between Instavna and Bern had been going on for over a month now, and Bern had enlisted SeeD to aid them.

The other was in the afternoon today, conveniently a few hours after the morning exam. SeeD had been hired by a newly risen rebel faction against the Western nation of Khrill, and the fighting would be taking place on the Efreet's Spit, which stuck out of the South side of the land mass into the Ocean. He'd been trying to convince the board to choose this one over the war zone. He believed in pushing his students to their limits, but he wasn't so stupid that he'd send them into a full scale war.

"The date of the practical exam is in negotiation. It will either occur in two days time, or at 1800 hours this day. You should stay alert and ready, even after the written test."

"Get a grip Dane ya bloody phycho!" On of the braver ones dared to shout out. "I don't get you, one minute ya normal the next you go berserk, whats ya prob man!?"

Dane responded by a jumping tackle that knocked the braver student to the ground. Dane pinned him down with his bulk and lifted the boys face up so it was only a inch away from his.
"Real simple "mate"" Dane almost sneered as he said that word. "If they think some pink hair gag is worth expelling someone over then I'm going to show them what a real problem is."

Getting up again Dane lifted up a chair and swung it around and threw it at some innocent students who happened to wonder over wondering what the noise was about.

A scream went out as the chair smacked into someones head, who was knocked down with a thud.

Smiling, Dane turned his attention elsewhere, knocking over tables and throwing all sorts around, at people or at objects. Anything Dane had ever previously held back had been released.
Though this time he wasn't laughing.

Unread postby Banjooie » Tue Jun 25, 2002 11:07 pm

Navin looked around.
"Am I invisible or something!? HELLO!? ANYONE!?"
Perhaps it was his fear of monsters. Perhaps it was merely because he was disliked. But somehow, noone ever noticed him, or anything he was doing. Well, except for the time he was in life threatening danger from...the gnat....he shook his head.
Maybe I should be like a stealth ninja or something...
He considered that maybe he should try something. Noone seemed to be around, and he was bored. He fished in his pocket. Bad habit, but he always carried around little things he found. He had a bit of string, a tiny rubber ball, about 2 cm in diameter, and a bit of tape. He tied the string around the ball, and taped the string onto the doorframe. He swung the now pendulum. He quickly shuffled away, careful not to make any noise. As the ball hit, it made a loud knocking sound on the door, which gradually got quieter as it went.
