Magdins a sea man eh?

Postby Choark » Thu Jun 13, 2002 6:36 am

Catch watched Justine, his breaths were slow and illregular. Catch was unsure on what to say to Kehlan, the man was the cause of Justines state, yet it was him who resuced him as well. He felt like yelling and hitting the big man, while at the same time shaking his hand and thanking him.

Upon hearing Magdin, Catch turned to face him.

"Justine is NOT dead. He won't die, not here. I'm sure of it."

The words rocked something in Catch and he turned to face the big bulk of Kehlan. "Damn it!! Why the Hell Didn't you move? Whats up with you!?" His cry of anger was sudden and lacked control.

Catch seemed to have surprised himself. He absentmindily touched his forhead, were the strange "magic rune" was found. It seemed to calm him down.

( OOC : Would we need a white mage? Or would the kiss of life be needed. Though I'm sure Justine would love to get it from Yarrie but I'm sure none of you guys are that nice, huh? )

So you want a kiss, Justina?

Postby Nick Shogun » Thu Jun 13, 2002 7:02 am

Magdin smiled at his absent mind. "How rude of me. Of course he won't die. But getting angry won't do Justine a bit of good. Sometimes things just happen, and nothing can change that."

Magdin set his hand on Catch's shoulder. "Now, I'm sure our client will know what to do," the old man noted, turning his head and looking at Ash and Yarrie.

IM: These things just seem to fling themselves about...

Kehlan let the smaller man shout at him. He probably should have moved. But that wasn't important now.

He looked at Justine, his brow furrowing as he tried to remember what the temple had told him to do in such a situation.

A expression of inspiration flashed across his face, and he placed a giant palm across the cowboys chest, pushing down lightly...

And squeezing the water right out of the lungs, Justine hacking and coughing it up, air finally able to return to his lungs.

Yarrie shook Ash, "C'mon! Get up!" she said as she tried to awaken him. She began to worry, "Ash? Wake up!" she cried as tears began to form in her eyes.

She fell over onto Ash, sobbing lightly, "Don't die Ash. Please..." she said in between sobs...

Doing what he was meant to do.

Kehlan stood up sharply after hearing Yarrie's cries. His work wasn't done yet. He walked over towards the unconscious warrior, gently moving Yarrie aside with one hand, standing down, examining Ash.

Looking him over carefully, he nodded once, having noted the shallow breathing that assured him he wasn't dead. He probably took a knock to the head when the wave pitched him across the deck.

Kehlan closed his eyes, placing both palms on Ash's chest, one atop the other. Muttering quietly, both of his hands began to glow white, the awakening spell seeping into his body.

(OOC: Ash, you make the call on the spells effects. Ideally, it'll wake Ash up, and heal a tiny bit of damage.)

Ash began to stir. His eyes shot open and he was breathing regularly again. Yarrie was overjoyed and she gave the warrior a big hug. "Ash!!! You're alright!!!" she cheered as she squeezed Ash. Ash placed his hand on the back of his head.

He placed his arm around Yarrie, "How... are the others?" he asked. Yarrie looked at him, "They're alright. We're all alright." she said as she gave him another big hug. Ash looked up at the big man who had saved him. He nodded in his direction, "Thanks." he said as he and Yarrie hugged.

Ash was thinking about what to do next now that they all arrived at their destination.

Ash was also thinking about his friends back in Doma... and ChristyDia....

Justine spat out the rest of the water that he had swallowed while near drowning and pushed himself up onto his feet, and drained out the water in his hat.

"Feel like I got the whole bloody sea in me!" He shook himself like a dog would have to get some more of the water off him. "My whole life flashed before my eyes."

Justine looked over everyone who was watching him, which was the big man, Kehlan, and Catch, who was calming himself down and keeping to himself.

He slapped Kehlan on the sholder. "Thanks partner! You saved me life." Justine didn't bother mentioning that his life was in danger because of him.

Taking his guns outta there holsters, he tapped and shook the water out of them. "Lest these didn't fall. . . hate to lose these beauts!"

He coughed out some more water.

Catch saw that Justine was okay and turned to Magdin. "Thanks for the kind words and all. . . I'm sorry for snapping. . . " Catch looked at Justine. " I just need him to stay alive, and he always gets into these things, it gives me a headache."

Shaking his head Catch walked over to Justine and helped slap some more water out of him.

It was such a piece of CRAP.

Postby Nick Shogun » Sat Jun 15, 2002 1:18 am

Magdin sat back down on the now sopping wet bench where he had previously been tethered. Reaching inside his cloak, he yanked out the bag that was latched around his chest. Untying the hole in the top, he pulled out a pair of metal gloves, a rusty iron helmet, and a piece of chainmail.

"You can never be too prepared. I suppose if I was in a hurry to die I should discard these protective items..."

He also took out his broadsword, a short, chipped blade that extended into a black leather handle. He grinned. It was such a piece of crap. After hacking up monsters for four or five years with the same sword, it turns to hell.

"My old sword. After this adventure, I'm afraid I'm going to have to find a replacement for you. Don't worry, I'll keep you around, for the memories, of course."

Magdin took another look at the sky. "The light is grey. There must be a large quantity of magic nearby. I hope this armor can protect me enough against whatever we meet on this accursed island."

Ash turned to the others, "Everyone ok?" he asked.

(OOC: Yep. I'm back. Thanks for taking over Deinar, Jak. You did a good job.)

Deinar himself had taken ahead injury during that last wave, which had slammed him against the ship's railing. Only now did he begin to come around. Fumbling with the rope around his waist, he gritted his teeth and winced as blooms of pain exploded behind his eyes.

Keep your head still...the pain will be gone in a moment.

Releasing himself from the rope, he sat where he was, carefully cradling his head in his hands.

Ash took this moment to ask Yarrie more about this mission, "Yeah... my history's a bit rusty... mind telling me again what this island's about?" he asked the elven woman.

Yarrie looked over the Dark Temple, it's menacing gates open... "There is a forbidden spell contained within. The Uncontrollable, the Wild Card, Espylocopa." she replied still looking at the Temple Entrance.

Ash looked confused, "You mean that one Summon Beast that can't be controlled? The one who once summoned attacked BOTH armies, even the one it was summoned by?" he asked, finally grasping her words.

Yarrie only nodded.

"Ho... ly.... @#%$!!! You mean if we don't stop them... they'll... oh gods... We gotta hurry!" said Ash as he ran over to the railing, he turned to the Captain of the ship, "Bring her around once we leave. We can't having our ride destroyed now can we? *turns to the others* Let's move... now!" he said as he hopped up onto the railing and leaped off, waist high in the water. He began stomping towards the beachline...

Back in the Temple...

Dante finally snapped. "IS THERE A MEANING TO ALL OF THIS? We've been in here for hours... how much longer must we BE IN HERE?" he asked Trellayne. Trellayne turned sharply towards Dante. His face looked very enraged.

"Remember who was the one who saved your pitiful dying ass!! I've come THIS far to finally realizing my life's dream. I'm going to study up so as to make sure that I now what I am dabbeling in. Tis a safety precaution... " said Trellayne as he went back to his reading.

Dante gritted his teeth and folded his arms. "Blasted fool..." he said under his breath.

"Seems like this guy fears that summon like a rattle snake fears the sabre toothed mouse huh?" Justine grinned. "Seems like we're going partners! Let Ride on out!!"

Justine jumped over the edge of he ship and joined Ash in the sea, heading towards the beach.

Catch smiled at the rest of the crew. "Least we can get off this boat." He more carefully lowered himself into the water and followed behind Justine. At last land! I was getting tired . . .

"Hey partner!" Justine shouted to the group leader, Ash, as he waded through the sea. "Mind filling us in on this sun-of-a-gun of a summon and all? Least enough of it so we ain't shooting at the moon on a cloudy night huh?"

Ash got on land and turned around, "Well I don't know really anything of what to expect. But... if this creature is as bad as the legends and history say... then we're in deep @#%$." said Ash as he looked around the small beachline. Pieces of wood and rope were strewn around the beach. "Obviously someone else is here." said Ash as he looked down at the debris.

Ash walked up to the entrance, "Ummm... Yarrie dear, could you please tell me how these people were able to open this?" he asked.

Yarrie, who was just catching up to him, stopped to catch her breath. "I don't know. All I know is that it includes one of the descendants of the Elders responsible for constructing this." said Yarrie as she looked up at the Entrance.

"Whoever did must've studied greatly into this before preparing." she added as she turned to look at the debris on the ground.

Back in the Temple...

Diego walked over to Trellayne, the large barbarian explained what Whelan had done before they captured him. Trellayne looked enraged, "He destroyed our boats?" he asked as he looked back over at the young warrior.

Diego nodded. Trellayne smirked, "Well then... when we meet the Temple Guardian... he'll have a warm-up snack!" said Trellayne as he angrily went back to reading.

His head now clear, except for a dull throb between his ears, he jumped up, sprinted to the railing, and leapt into the sea.

Whelan just glared right back at Trellayne.

"Now see here old man. You contracted me because I was the only merc willing to kidnap an elf and also because I would be able to leave no traceable evidence back to you. You're the one that didn't pay me for my services so it's no small wonder that I wouldn't be just a little upset. I do believe you very well now how hard it is to capture and take off with an elf or else you wouldn't have hired me in the first place."

Whelan wormed his way into a standing position.

"I tell ya what. Release me and pay me what you owe me so far and I will compensate you for your boats by supplying transportation back to the mainland for you all. I'll even join your cause for a mere double of our original asking price. You have already seen me in action and if I had wanted too I could have killed the barbarian, drow, and queen of pain over there. What do ya say?"

Trellayne didn't even look back at him, "You were a fool to trust us. So now you want us to pay you more and let you join us? First you destroy our ship... then you attack a great deal of my group, then you tried to kill me and the rest of the group with that... "Ebony Annihilation" attack... and yet, just now, RIGHT now you want to join us? I am done with you and your pathetic attempts to get rich off us. So your answer is no." said Trellayne as he finally looked up from his reading at the young warrior.

Heheh, time to show you some serious magic.

Postby Nick Shogun » Mon Jun 17, 2002 7:33 pm

Magdin whistled as Deinar hopped off into the water, urging him to follow. The old man grinned widely. "Yes, I could take off the armor and get all wet. But there are better methods, dear boy."

Concentrating, Magdin's eyes lost their friendly warmth and became two cold blue orbs, as two massive wings exploded from his back. The armor, as no one had taken the time to notice or bothered to pay attention to, had two small holes cut into the back. The wings, ripping through Magdin's crude grey shirt, grew larger and larger until they reached full span.

Then, as graceful as a majestic falcon, Magdin leapt off the side and soared over the water, where he landed safely on the beach. Upon touchdown, the wings returned to their dormant stage, retracting into his back, and Magdin collapsed to his knees. Deinar trudged from the water with a surprised gaze and helped Magdin to his feet.

"Heh... I'm just too old for this type of thing. But going into this stuffy old temple, what would I need wings for anyway?"

Deinar sighed.

"At least I'm not wet."

The old man cackled in a humorous tone.

"Be resonable will ya!"

When Whelan took a step forward he unfortunately let go of the losened ropes as they fell to the ground.

"I ahhh.. Oh nevermind that I was oiut of those ropes five minutes ago, but in all serious points of view Trellayne you most likely would have done the same thing in my place I'd wager. The difference I percieve is that you would have come back just for vengence while I on the other hand see no profit in petty revenge. You're either going to use this summon to rule or dystroy the world and if it's too rule than you'll have money to burn. Pardon my greedy tone, but with me you get a powerful ally that can help you. I highly doubt that this has gone past the watchful gaze of the elves and they will more than likely look for assistance from some 'hero' like Ash Fanrico or something. He already beat Dante's ass once, no offense buddy, and if he can't be held back then there's no hope for you old man. Espylocopa or not if he has a clean shot at you he will throw his dieing breath as a dagger uto your heart. (Hey, that was pretty poetic.) Do reconsider Trellayne. I more than willing negotiate my fee. Or you can just pay me what you owe me and I'll leave no questions asked....."

Just then the Shadow Sword bore through the cave wall and flew into Whelan's hand.

"...Or I'll take that elf back one way or the other. FULL ON MAGIC ARMOR POWER UP!"

Whelan's gauntlet glowed for a blink of an eye moment as his body was enveloped in what some have seen as the mirror black like armor that Darkblade would wear in great battles.

"The choice is yours old man and I hope you make the right one for your sake."

IM:Now I'm in deep @#%$! If this guy even touches me with a zeroth level fire spell my armor will disapate and not be able to reform for a month. If I don't this bluff off I'm screwed and I'll have too run. I never should have summoned this armor without my gauntlet's power fully restored. Dammit! Good thing they can't see my expression with my face plate down though.

(OOC: *info* The armor that you have just witnessed is incomplete as the young warrior Whelan has of yet to fully master his weapons handed down to him from his father Darkblade. The armor itself is nearly indestructible, however it will only withstand a limited amount of damage(HP) before it dissolves completly away and leaves Whelan at 0 magic energy (MP) left in his gauntlet. "FYI" Also there is the possibility that if he still haves it on when Ash shows up he could very well mistake him for the real Darkblade, but who knows?)

Ash and Co. started down the hallway, their opponents had a good head start... so they'll probably have to huff it soon.

From the looks of things, there wasn't much to the temple. Probably from the fact that they weren't trying to comemorate the chaotic event that was so costly. Obviously there had been someone before them, for the torches were all lit.

"So... Yarrie... could you tell us what the situation is? How did this all start?" asked Ash as they walked.

Magdin searched about the room. He was filled with a feeling of suspense that envigorated him immensely and reminded him of his younger days... when he was more whole.

Perhaps it was this reason, this nostalgia, that made him bounce off to new quests so wildly and easily. He grimaced, for one the first times since he set out on this journey. He had a task to accomplish, and he was avoiding it as much as possible.

He glanced nervously at the walls - there was something about this building that set him on edge. It seemed ...aware. In some obscure way, he was sure that it new that there were intruders within it...
