Suddenly, there's a clanging noise from the main room. There's a goodly sized pile of scrap metal- parts and pieces of various old mechanisms, scraps of armor, and raw ore- Swirling around itself with a brown sheet tossed in for good measure. The tornado of scrap whirls around in a frantic circle, before it gains a voice, ethereal and ghostly with a slight echo. "If anyone says they're coming for me, they're lying!"

The scrap begins to build into itself, forming the primary body shape, still running around with the sheet wrapping around it's shoulders. "Everyone here is lying!" The scrap begins to build up thicker in some places- Arms, legs, neck, and the bottom part of the torso. "She's not coming! Nobody panic, she's NOT coming!"

Finally, the scrap metal smooths out, becoming the body of the group's new annoyance, taking it's black, orange, and grey coloration. She continues to run, her footsteps landing heavy on the floor. "There's no reason to panic! She won't be here! EVERYONE IS LIARS."

Trivale awakened with a gasp, his heart hammering in his chest. A hand quests under his pillow, grasping for seemingly nothing even as he begins to calm himself down. Just a dream... just a dream... What sort of dream WAS it, though? Somehow Trivale felt even more tired than he had when he lay himself down the night before, or maybe that was the odd double vision he still seemed to have. What was WITH all of that? Knights... no, demons. So strange. What did it mean?

Not even remotely calm yet, he began to pull his things together. Strange dreams or not, there still was much to do today.

Salix looked around wildly, sitting up where he'd been sleeping. His eyes were wide open, almost unnaturally huge in the semi-darkness, looking around him franticly.

"Wh...Where are we? Who's there? Where did the bird go!?"

Rosalyn's protege emerges from her room, bleary-eyed. "What's...why is everyone shouting?" She looks to Salix just briefly, about to speak, but she seems to think the better of it and keeps quiet. Instead, she turns back to the others in the main room, whoever else they might be. "Did something happen? Flea, who's a liar? Who's not coming?"

Well, that didn't sound so great. It sounded like Kongunvir had had a bad night. On top of that, it sounded like everyone had had a nightmare. Still, she had to ask him.

"Kongunvir, did you just dream about being stuck in a well? Or anywhere dark really."

"Yes, there was a well. With some trivial book inside it." He staggered to his feet.

"Is this the work of the planes, or is something meddling with our minds?"

Rosalyn was rather disoriented when she awoke, but not really so frantic. Not frantic because of her dream anyway, though it did take her some time to realize that she had in fact been dreaming. Salix's initial cry had made her rush to check on him, but the swirling mass in the main room caught her attention and she spent some time staring at that. Then the discussion among the others caught her attention, and she went to join them.

"There was a well in mine too," she remembered. "It had a dagger in it. But more importantly..."

She glanced about and grew a bit more quiet, as if she was worried who might hear.

"Does Sha'sal Khou mean anything to anyone?"

"She's not she's not she's not she's not she's not!"

Flea darts in circles around the room, before...Leaping at Trivale, latching onto his shirt and shaking him for emphasis. "CALM DOWN. SHE'S NOT COMING."

"Wait, you all dreamed of being down a well too?" Trivale had to ask. This is ENTIRELY too weird. "Did your dreams have anything to do with weird demonic elven knights or something?" That whole dream was... off, somehow. And just thinking about it gave him a bit of a headache, what with the way the scenery swirled and twisted. Unsettling.

Granted, being suddenly mauled by a Flea is even more unsettling still... "AAAAAAAARRGH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING? GET. OFF. ME!"

"ARRRRRGH! WHO ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT ANYWAY?!?" says Trivale as he tries to break Flea's frantic grip on his good shirt for this trip. Either way, wonders have been done for his headache.

"I don't... remember a demonic knight." Salix had gotten up to join the others, rubbing his eyes wearily. "Things were really off, like they said that I should stay with them... or..." he frowned, sighing, "I don't remember all of it... it was horrible. Surreal."

Lorraine tried to pry Flea off of Trivale while talking.

"Well, I'm only hearing the one constant so far. Let's go check the well. Let go of him would you?!"

Kongunvir kept his distance from the crazed Flea as he retrieved his gear. She'd tire herself out soon enough.

Astral Plane - TorNav'Roc

Leaving their quarters behind, the party begins walking the streets of TorNav'Roc in search of the mysterious well from their dreams. Of course, this is no easy feat with the paucity of information at hand, but the relative emptiness of the city aids them greatly. The survivors aren't anywhere to be seen, nor is the necromancer that harried Flea. Naught but the corpses floating about, forever undisturbed if untouched.

It's close to an hour before the first glimpse is made. Kongunvir's the first to spot it at the far end of a street very familiar to many, if far more damaged than it had appeared in their minds. It's not alone, though. At the well sits Tonuin'li, keeping a lone sentry on the site. The odd properties of the Astral seem to be working in their favor, as she doesn't seem to have noticed them despite the complete lack of any attempts at stealth and the variety of sources sounding out with the noises of metal clanking on metal or stone. Slumped against its edge, she stares off and away from the party with arms resting on her knees; she seems utterly relaxed, but to those more trained in martial ways, it's obvious she's doing his best to stay vigilant as he peers into the distance. Still, her best doesn't quite seem good enough.

Anyone that would've elaborated on their dream during the search, go ahead and do so in your post; otherwise, (if you haven't already elaborated in a previous post) I'll assume you kept quiet about it.

Kongunvir knew a sentry when he saw one, even if it was a poor one, and he immediately inferred that the other githyanki were down the well. Likely investigating it as they themselves intended to. He was about to approach the githwarrior when another thought struck him. He made to stop the others from moving any closer and draw them aside.

"What did you all find at the bottom of the well in your dream?" he asked them bluntly. "Rosalyn, you mentioned a dagger and a name before. Was the name tied to the blade?"

Lorraine had disentangled Flea from herself en route to the well, and would not trouble herself to remove her from one of their compatriots again if she chose to cling to them instead. The girl was kind of heavy. She was alert as they traveled, as much for Flea's potential clinging as for the well. When they found it she had meant to rush forward and investigate quickly. She stopped short when Kongunvir did however, looking a bit confused. She replies to his question quickly, now looking somewhere between confused and mildly annoyed. Why was he asking this now?

"I found you, behind a crack in the wall, muttering what sounded like gibberish."

"And I found Flea, yes, but what of the item? I found a githyanki book, and Rosalyn said that she found a githyanki dagger. Why would such objects feature in our dreams?" He glanced back towards the well. "If there is a pattern I would know of it before approaching the survivors again. Their interest in the well may not be the same as our own." He kept his more outlandish, unsubstantiated suspicions to himself.

"It... would be hard to say," Rosalyn answered, regarding the name. "It seems likely, but there wasn't anything spelling it out so directly. It was all... rather esoteric."

She did have her own suspicions about what might have been in the well, but she also kept them to herself.

"I... dreamt of... a hole. There was someone in the well, but when I came down, there was just this hole in the wall... and I dug it out, and then I crawled through..." Salix frowned slightly, "Then I woke up."

"But how can we have dreamed of this well, unless this place is speaking to us? None of us have seen it before, am I right?"

...He really wished he could commune with the spirit of a city... but despite the time spent with his father and his friends, Salix would not develop the affinity for the spirit of the urban, the wilds were his home.

Astral Plane - TorNav'Roc

Quietly, Rosalyn's companion speaks up. "...I was in a deep cave...fighting flayers. Dozens of them...I'd never seen them before, though. I was winning, even..." She smiles slightly as she continues. "I saved a girl, and she gave me a cloak...then I found the well too. I was looking into it...that's when I woke up."

"Lorraine heard Kongunvir, and...he heard Flea...Flea heard Rosalyn...and I heard Salix in mine..." She frowns, thinking. "What do you think it means?"

"My face is not stupid!" Rosalyn protested. Then, calming down, she gestured to the goblin, "And I heard her."

It might have been useful to know that they had all encountered someone else within the group, but she really couldn't think of any meaningful conclusions they could draw from that.

Kongunvir furrowed his brow as he tried to make sense of the others' accounts. "Whatever, or whoever, caused these dreams knew that we were comrades." He spared Rosalyn's goblin a glance, feeling vaguely nauseous at being considered similar to such a wretched creature. "I think those gith are mixed up this this, either by their own design or because they were lured to that well before. Quite possibly before the attack that devastated this place. It may be unrelated, but somehow I doubt that. Watch them carefully. At least one of them is a craven coward and you can never tell what depths those sorts will stoop to in order to save their own hide."

Astral Plane - TorNav'Roc

Watching Tonuin'li closely, the goblin briefly breaks her gaze off to look to Kongunvir. "...What should we do here? Should we move forward, or..." She trails off, seemingly unsure what other option there is at this point. Turning back to the gith, she grips the shaft of the bow wrapped around one shoulder, fingering the string nervously. "...do you think they're dangerous, Kongunvir?"

Kongunvir looked at the goblin, his mental processes thrown for a loop. It still unnerved him how it spoke correctly, acted properly and seemed so like an actual person. All of which conflicted with decades of ingrained hatred, prejudice reinforced by the war against the wretched things. This one creature was more confounding than anything else he'd witnessed on the planes. Eventually, after staring at it mutely for a seconds, he formed a response.

"Of course they're dangerous. They're a military unit." He said with sneering condescension. "We go forward, but we do so prepared. They're tied to this somehow."

Rosalyn gave Kongunvir something of a glare for that sneer. But on the other hand, she was also a bit worried by the way the goblin reached for her bow.

"Let's try not to resort to blows if it can be helped," she said after a moment of thought. "I know it may turn out that it can't be helped, but they... did show us some hospitality. We shouldn't pay that back by being too quick to make enemies of them."

Wow, Kongunvir was just about venomous to that girl, wasn't he? She wasn't prepared to tell him off for it right now, though. There were priorities here, and unless he became violent his shitty attitude wasn't high among them. She pushed concern for the exchange aside and considered what they should do. If they were going to talk to the Gith, there was no good reason for her not to initiate contact. They apparently liked her, after all. She didn't appreciate the full cultural significance of her own fighting style here, but she knew that she could probably get a better initial reaction out of the Gith standing by the well because of it. So, she stepped out and walked over to meet him first.

"Hey there!"

Astral Plane - TorNav'Roc

Pulling her hand away and looking away from Kongunvir, the goblin nods, trying not to stare at him too much. "...Sorry. You're right."

And meanwhile, Lorraine heads up, greeting Tonuin'li. She starts, whirling with a gasp. "...What...oh...uh...greetings. Wh...what're..." Looking past her, she spots the rest of the party, eyes widening. "...you're all here. You...shouldn't be here. It's...it's not safe. The psurlons left...dangerous spells here."

Kongunvir:
Spoiler:
Watching her, Kongunvir's almost certain, despite what they said, that Tonuin'li's never been a guard before.

Kongunvir scowled. The githyanki had presented him with an acceptable outlet for his negative emotions. "I'm sure they did, but I doubt you're equipped to deal with whatever perils the evil psylons have left in that well. Your little warrior band fled from them before, after all. Step aside, we'll deal with whatever threat is down there." He talked to Tonion'li in the same manner he'd done with the goblin moments before; with disdain and contempt.

Rosalyn sighed. Kongunvir was on a roll today.

"It seems that we've been called here," she explained, stepping into the conversation. "We all saw this well in a dream. All at the same time."

Astral Plane - TorNav'Roc

"Dreams? Oh...that's...that's merely the Astral. Loose memories floating about...a gust of psychic wind." Tonuin'li looks off, scowling into the distance before looking back to the party. "There's nothing you'd want here. And Gaath'lir wouldn't want you all in any danger...he'll be back shortly, I'm sure." She looks down the street again, crossing her arms. "...Please, go. You're...you're in danger just being this close. It's...it's especially dangerous to the psi-dead." There's a bit more distance now between Tonuin'li and the well now, but she's still keeping himself in their way, however uneasily. "I don't know what these dreams told you..."

Tonuin'li evasiveness was only reinforcing Kongunvir's suspicions. "Your lies are as feeble as they are insulting. What are you hiding, githyanki? Are you responsible for this butchery? What did your band do to bring this devastation upon your own people?"

Astral Plane - TorNav'Roc

She stumbles at his accusation, scowling in return, shaken by his words. "...How dare you. Do you know how many I lost here when...if you knew what..." She cuts herself off, staring at the well for a long period of silence; her hands shake, though it's hard to tell whether from anger or nervousness.

Her shoulders collapse, and all of a sudden she looks exhausted, as if the weight of everything's finally all fallen upon her at once. She stares into the depths of the stone construct, muttering under her breath though still quite loud enough to hear. "...What do I care? What more could they do? It's hopeless anyway."

"Do what you wish. I don't care anymore." She barely raises her voice before wandering to a nearby building, leaning up against it and collapsing to the ground with a clatter of armor. Sitting against the wall, she lets her head fall back against it, holding her eyes closed without a further word.

Salix had stood back for a while, balancing on the heels of his sandals, increasingly worried that the loud dwarf, whatever his name was, was causing problems for them again. When the woman seemed to 'cave in' and walked away, he looked after her for a bit, then back to the well, then he skipped over to her carefully, hunching down in front of the githyanki.

"...I'm sorry. He's really rude. Are you all right?"

Kongunvir watched Tonuin'li walk off, her half-whispered words further reinforcing his suppositions. The survivors had somehow been involved in bringing about the slaughter, hiding as their kin were butchered either out of cowardice or out of malice. A betrayal of the highest order and one they'd yet to own up for. Had any of what the knight had said the day before been true? How many lies had they spun to hide their treachery? He glared daggers at Salix as the boy went to apologise. There could be all sorts of evil in the well and the fool was concerning himself with being nice.

"Let's sort this out." he muttered to the others, moving to climb into the well as doubt begun to nag at his mind. What if he was wrong? What if he was blustering into this with wild misconceptions and pointing fingers at innocent parties? He crushed those thoughts, telling himself that he'd make himself humble if that was the case. In truth the thought of being wrong at this stage was too abhorrent to properly consider.
