I poke you with a stick.

Unread postby pd Rydia » Sun Jun 27, 2010 2:42 pm

It's been, like, a week since someone posted something, so I'm poking you with a stick. :kirteach:

No but like, what type of wood, and dimensions, and what type of poke. THIS IS ALL FOR A PROJECT DON'T ASK WHAT THE PROJECT IS.

It's only Balsa wood, but it's about the size of a dude. Verdict is still out on the strength of the poke, though. Measurements were taken, but the calculations aren't finished yet.
Anime is kind of like fish in that it is better the less "fishy" it is.

If my SN weren't KingOfDoma, it would be KingOfPoking. If poking were a martial art, I'd be a fifteenth dan black belt.

But that's because I USE MY FINGERS.

Poking sticks ARE FOR THE WEAK. FINGER POKES FOR LIFE.

Any ol' shmuck can poke with his finger with little or no classical training--see Chuck as our local example. However, it takes years of hard study, practice, and hot tea sipping to become a master of poking with sticks. Once you have mastered the art form of poking with sticks, you are truly an artiste.

Lies! Poking is only in its purest form when all vestiges of technology are stripped away! It is only truly a poke when you make that physical connection with your target. Anything else is just ... jabbing.

Gutei teaches us that the poke is not in the finger anymore than the finger is in the poke.

Gutei teaches us that cutting off kids' fingers is fun and educational.
"You haven't told me what I'm looking for."
"Anything that might be of interest to Slitscan. Which is to say, anything that might be of interest to Slitscan's audience. Which is best visualized as a vicious, lazy, profoundly ignorant, perpetually hungry organism craving the warm god-flesh of the anointed. Personally I like to imagine something the size of a baby hippo, the color of a week-old boiled potato, that lives by itself, in the dark, in a double-wide on the outskirts of Topeka. It's covered with eyes and it sweats constantly. The sweat runs into those eyes and makes them sting. It has no mouth, Laney, no genitals, and can only express its mute extremes of murderous rage and infantile desire by changing the channels on a universal remote. Or by voting in presidential elections."

There is nothing worthy of preservation in this "pure" form of poking you describe. Strip away the technology--the art, the tools--and we are as our barbaric, poo-flinging ancestors. Your "true" poke is no different from that of a axolotl bumping into the glass of its aquarium--amusing for others to watch, perhaps. But one can take no pride in such a simple effort.

Good day, sir!

Besides, everyone knows it's way more satisfying to trick someone into poking themselves.
