Cheney?

Really?

Incidentally the manga is a far better read, it involves battling immortal nazis from the moon and a dream-five of The Pope, Papa Bush, Junichiro Koizumi, Vladimir Putin and Yulia Tymoshenko

Yeah, but manga will always lack motion, and goddamn if that clip didn't have some sweet-ass ridiculously excessive dramatic movement. I think I can put that clip up there with Kermit the Frog yelling and that "I have come to make an exchange for this bag of farts" image from Ninja Nonsense as things that will always be able to improve my mood, no matter how emo I'm feeling.

That was actually really insightful.

Loved that dig at the iPad.

Edit: Okay, I posted that before I finished watching the thing. The end goes a little crazy, but it's certainly... interesting, philosophically. It's also a little scary how it's not completely improbable.

Yeah, he does get a bit off-tangent a bit into it, and some things I'm not entirely sure would sell.

There's been a boom in Sweden with free stamp-cards that let you get your sixth-seventh cup of coffee for free, and there's really nothing more you need to do than haul it out of your pocket / body cavity of choice and hand it over every time you buy one at 7-11, Pressbyrån, whatever. I think that's the best solution, intangible rewards I doubt people will stick around with, and stuff like "Yay, you've drunk 5 pepsis, get a discount if you do a handstand"'s a bit too convoluted to be more than a trend... I hope.

I'm more concerned about how he's saying that future game design should focus around instant, easily quantifiable gratification designed to hook people rather than making something actually engaging.

Has anyone seen the sales-figures for Mass Effect 2? Dragon Age?

Making quality-games are cash-winning enough at the moment that there's still a motivation to do them... I sincerely hope.

They sell loads, sure, but they're multi-million projects that take years to produce. I doubt any of the games mentioned in that video had anywhere near as long or expensive a development cycle.

This game is potentially amazing, but I haven't had much opportunity to mess with it yet. The concept is hilarious, but I'm not sure that people on the Internet are ultimately beneficial or detrimental to the experience.

As a fan of videogames, and as a man who has seen a number of pretentious indie movies (and even enjoyed a few!) this trailer has a certain zest.

"You haven't told me what I'm looking for."
"Anything that might be of interest to Slitscan. Which is to say, anything that might be of interest to Slitscan's audience. Which is best visualized as a vicious, lazy, profoundly ignorant, perpetually hungry organism craving the warm god-flesh of the anointed. Personally I like to imagine something the size of a baby hippo, the color of a week-old boiled potato, that lives by itself, in the dark, in a double-wide on the outskirts of Topeka. It's covered with eyes and it sweats constantly. The sweat runs into those eyes and makes them sting. It has no mouth, Laney, no genitals, and can only express its mute extremes of murderous rage and infantile desire by changing the channels on a universal remote. Or by voting in presidential elections."

I'm actually pretty impressed with the mix of oldschool and newschool anime in there. Generally it seems like the Internet doesn't give a shit about anime that's more than 10 years old.

Surprisingly masterful comic timing for an amateur effort.

I'm really digging this trend of musicians performing with themselves through the magic of video editing. This video is no exception.
