Unfortunately, the amount of amusement that can be derived from that is minimal, without either a translation or a primer on the relevant language. I am sad for my cultural indiversity =(

"Anything that might be of interest to Slitscan. Which is to say, anything that might be of interest to Slitscan's audience. Which is best visualized as a vicious, lazy, profoundly ignorant, perpetually hungry organism craving the warm god-flesh of the anointed. Personally I like to imagine something the size of a baby hippo, the color of a week-old boiled potato, that lives by itself, in the dark, in a double-wide on the outskirts of Topeka. It's covered with eyes and it sweats constantly. The sweat runs into those eyes and makes them sting. It has no mouth, Laney, no genitals, and can only express its mute extremes of murderous rage and infantile desire by changing the channels on a universal remote. Or by voting in presidential elections."

There is clearly something wrong with you, as Swedish humour should be cross-cultural.

It is entirely possible that this LotR parody is hilarious, and that that hilarity is indeed cross-cultural, but it's difficult to find out when there's this giant language barrier in the way. It is, indeed, much easier to access the hilarity in your second offering.

Actually, there's two great rebuttals to my original statement. One is, obviously, the Swedish language, in which it is possible to say absolutely anything and make a non-native speaker bust out laughing.

The other, somewhat related response, is the Swedish Chef.

... actually, after watching that clip, I am now more convinced than ever that the Swedish chef really is from Sweden. But what the Hell is a "lesbian cap"?

Okay, that last link that Christian submitted was entirely ridiculous and I made one of my roommates watch it. Bravo, sir.

That last link was to a comedy-group called Grotesco. Not entirely my favorite Swedish humour troupe, but they're cool. I have no idea what a lesbian cap is... presumably a cap worn by lesbians in general? Or a cap with a preference for... No, that would be silly.

Maybe it's a document that states the maximum number of lesbians allowed. Or maybe it's a different document, one that sets an upper limit to the pay of major league athletes, if they are paid in lesbians. I wouldn't also be surprised to find it's a small explosive, small enough to be fit for a children's lesbian.

Not true. At some point, it becomes a fire hazard.

I would probably watch an all-lesbian version of Backdraft. Don't really see many women firefighters.

I would probably watch an all-lesbian version of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Just because I don't really need my brain that much anyway.

Those guys are quickly replacing Portal as the new Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It's good to see that old nerd pastime is alive and well.

I don't think NicoNico Douga's a guy, I think that's just the name for a video site popular in Japan, like Youtube. Still, that was awesome, yes. :D

Yeah, my understanding is that NicoNico Douga is sort of like YouTube for Japan's otaku and gamers. I don't read enough Japanese to confirm or deny it, but I just assumed that these insane Automatic Mario music videos are all done by the same guy, because it is difficult to conceive of more than one person being that particular flavor of mad scientist gamer musician.

But then again, it is Japan.

Aha, cool. And I guess on one hand that'd make sense if it was just one guy, but on the other it's cool to think that there's an entire community of people working in the medium of "SMW Automaton Levels".

Wow. That was more like "brought to you by MS paint" than "what if it were on the NES." Those were some shitty production values.
