WOO HOOO

Edit: Image taken out. Again, please post something that's not a page long in and of itself, or don't bother posting a picture.

I'd be less of a jerk if it was funny, at least. -Shini

Planescape really isn't that steampunky. It still exists in a feudal-era time-frame.

I would be interested to play this... I uh... suppose? I got the sense that this was a Real Life game, but if it's board, I'm game. =)

Christian! Yes I would be delighted to have you in the fold. We only have one character submitted so far. She is a CN Tiefling Rogue. PM me for details on what I need from you to play.

Look! I made it! Yay, go Mutt!

Erm...So the PCGen crashed on Will's computer and it won't even start on my loaner. We're calling it quits for the night, but backstories should be in your mailbox on the 'morrow. Probably. Possibly. Hopefully.

But CG Kender Rogue Handler representin'.

Handler? Is this a Dragonlance class?

Don't worry about PCGen, I'm the one who will be using it to steer your Charsheets. Just get everything in to me in TXT format. Roll your stats on Invisiblecastle and put the link in the txt file.

Thanks guys

To answer some re-occuring questions and some things I'd like to see on my own.

:eng101: Your first post is your initial reaction to my First post... which is the "urge to move or pass out" It's simple. Describe what you're doing in the market today, what you're wearing (so the other players know what package you took, what you look like), what humour you're in. Basically give us a brief description of what finds your character in the market today and finish it with your reaction to my post.

:eng101: In the game thread all posts are made in-character, any mechanical references you feel you can't allude to via roleplay please put at the end of your post in the "Small" text size, or PM me.

:eng101: Rule no 1 of the game: If you don't know, PM your DM. Most of you have my AIM or e-mail info and a few have my phone number (if it's honest-to-god that urgent).

:eng101: All spells below level 7 do not require material components, although Verbal and Somatic still come into play. All Spells level four and below do not require spell keys, But I do need you guys to read up on spell keys and their function on the planes.

:eng101: You may be new to the planes but ALL of you have been in Sigil for a little while, have a good idea for what Sigil is like, it could save your life.

:eng101: Every player was given two starting equipment packages with NO gold but Rations. Rations are only used when we travel on long trips where nothing is happening or nobody can hunt. I dont want to bog down the game with the minutae of sleeping and eating unless nessicary to the flow of the story. Rations keep forever, so dont worry about them spoiling.

:eng101: Feel free to get florid in your posts, but if it was a chore to write, then it's a chore to read. Remember it's not just you and I reading your Post, it's the rest of the party.

:eng101: Many of you know this, some don't: I am HUGE on rewarding players for extra-curricular activities, via gold or xp. Character sketch? I'd love to see it. Expanded Backstory? I'll surely read it. Rule 34 of your Character and Captain Picard? I'll print it and put it on my wall.

:eng101: HAVE FUN, for the love of God. Still, don't sabotage the team, try not to be a stick in the mud and always try and work together.

:eng101: I do ALL the rolls, try not to assume an action succeeds, but if you can't finish your thought without that, I understand and my post will adjust your accordingly.

:eng101: If you are ever in Chicago or I am coming to your home-town area, I love tabletop play and will be thrilled top play a game with your character, out-of-timeline side-adventures will be run and XP will be rewarded accordingly. Those of you who will never be available for that, I can compensate you through AIM RP when you feel up to it or one-on-one character development.

:eng101: Lastly, I know the Charsheets have been something of a bother, but I just needed something that worked and PCGen didn't work for every body, and TOS worked for some. I will be standardising all your sheets into a simple .XLS and Submitting them to each of you to keep track of your equipment and character with.

I have a question for my players though. Do you want to be notified of XP Gains privately, every time you gain? Or would you prefer I just tell you when you've leveled?

Glad to be on the team! Hi everyone! :zoidberg:

I'll send you a PM regarding the package, Ben, but right now I've got to hit the gym! :!:

And I'd prefer to get notified when I level more or less. Less for me to keep check on. ;)

...I meant team there, not time...

I personally like keeping track of my own XP... though I seem to be notoriously bad at it. :nyoron: (In the last 4th ed game I played, I was often 100 behind/ahead of everyone else.)

Sorry to see you go Enodios, you're welcome to come back after we finish chapter 1.

Allright everyone, the first post has been made, by the ever-prompt Christian. This means two things, You guys need to bust ass to get in your missing info and make your first posts and I need to get on the ball and get your .xls character sheets to you. If everybody could please PM their e-mail addresses (if you haven't already e-mailed me) I will hopefully have time either Late monday or mid-evening Wednesday to get that done and off to you guys.

We're hoping Ms. Damnpaws and Ivstinvs joins us soon. Both have busy days, and one requested that I build their character.

There's still time to be written into the story, folks!

So I'm considering the following: I want to put all of your character sheets as PDFs or XLS sheets, standardized by me and notify you by PM when you've leveled. Would you mind if I made one singular post in the Char Vault?

also this in regards to Kommisar's latest post

Edit: Smaller image. THUS I DECREE.

Seriously, grab a smaller version of that and repost it and I won't care. -Shini

I suppooooose I wouldn't mind, I can only keep my awesome and super-cool secret for that long anyway. One question though, what is this character vault you speak of?

Also, two more players will be hilariously fun! :D I've been trying to limit my posting a bit, since most people seem unable to keep the idiot pace I am... should we set a posting order, or would that just put unnecessary pressure on people?

A posting order might not be a bad idea - I've used them in LJ PbPs before, and they've got their upsides and downsides.

On the upside, you don't have more active players leaving the slower ones in the dust. That can lead to the slower player's characters being left out of a lot of plot development.

On the downside, it can lead to rather awkward-sounding conversations and interactions, since people IRL don't have a repeated order of speaking/acting.

It can also lead to a thread stagnating when one person doesn't post when it's their turn, but that can be circumvented by imposing a time limit (say, if you don't post after a week you can be skipped) unless there are extenuating circumstances.

I can go either way, really.
