Interesting Times Gang!

I'm looking to run a Philsys chat RP (hopefully not more than a few sessions long) for the Gaera Second Gen gang. Requested parties include but are not limited to: Solis, James, Michael, Goren, Kae'oss Tymisonn, Sorune, etc. People not on this list are welcome; I probably just couldn't think of all the names that'd work.

I'm available on Saturday nights, or after 10 EST on Fridays due to the intersection of Brian's and my work hours.

This takes place a good year or year and a half after No Time for Arguing! Head for the Showdown! ended with Zea going back home to live with her mother's family.

Basic premise... the Silvars get a note from a newly-instated Duke in the Netherworld, Duke Hurhara. Evidently the usual nasty politics of the Netherworld had ended in one duchy attempting to rally a peasant revolt around a "legitimate" heir, the most convenient one being James Silvar. Unfortunately, before they could get their hands on the young man to use as a political pawn, a rather nasty plague broke out and wiped out most of the peasants. This was convenient for the one who stepped in to take over the decimated and unstable duchy Hurhara, but of course he had nothing to do with the circumstances that allowed him the opportunity to take power. Of course. Duke Hurhara is writing to them to inform them that the threat to their family has been dealt with, and that he hopes they will remain on good terms through this difficult transition.

Unfortunately, Netherworld politics of succession don't always stay in the Netherworld. About half a year later, another letter from Hurhara comes through. The plague that oh-so-conveniently caused such desolation in the Netherworld has somehow crept to the surface world, and areas in Riva surrounding the portal are having... problems. People who contract the plague--which seems to be contact-borne or airborne over very short ranges--are degrading into half-intelligent and aggressive remnants of their former selves. Despite the fact that people are rather used to "it's a zombie; kill it," by now on Igala, these people haven't even properly died.

As a gesture of good faith, the Rivan government is being informed of the incident so that the situation can be contained. The Doman government has been involved because another Netherworld noble--a Baron Manetti by name--has decided to take advantage of the situation and expand some of his holdings to the surface. Duke Hurhara, wishing to impede a political rival and ensure he is not implicated by the surfacie as an accomplice, is giving this advanced warning in the hopes that Manetti can be stopped from expanding his holdings in an opportunistic bid to take advantage of a plague that is itself a rather nasty problem.

Around the same time as this warning missive, Michael, Solis Darylshield, Sorune Yohlm, and Zeke Mazuo all receive correspondence from Zea Mazuo informing them that the area around the Rivan portal to the Netherworld has become unsafe, and that they should stay away. There is a footnote in each informing them that James is not receiving a note because she's willing to bet the merest hint of danger will send him straight where she doesn't want them to go, so if they could please exercise some discretion to avoid James getting killed that'd be super, thanks.

Nonetheless, the problem must be dealt with. With the Silvars involved that can mean only one thing! Recruit a team of teenagers with attitude!

Do we still have any of those? If so, give me your time availabilities for chattingtiemz! I need three to five people who are willing to help escort a Plague Knight of Valkise to the area and deal with both the disease and the forces of Baron Manetti.

You know I'm game. Chances are that Zeke is going to be the one who runs with this, since James is essentially occupied.

Edit: Ooops, too illiterate, can't read.

Uh, it said Philsys chat RP.

That aside, well...if I do join, the only obvious option would be Fal. Even if she can't embarass the living hell out of James in this one. XD

Below is all that I could find of Sirvix's Philsys work.
Quick Stats:
Sirvix (Nekogami) - Lvl 1 - 60 HP, 60 MP, 20 TP

Background:

name: Sirvix Malone- age: 19- eyes: blood red - hair: orange - height: 5'7- weight: "A lady never tells!"

Sirvix is a succubus, a kind of evil fairy from hell. Her father is a master demon from Hell's Peak Mountain, where a portal to the Shadows exist. Being an only child, she has been spoiled to death and protected from the outside world and is kind of naive but in a strange evil way. She met Hakaril James Silvar at a resort and was swept off her feet by the handsome bishounen who did not find her name funny, as so many others (now dead) have. After convincing him to marry her, she set out to explore the world as her betrothed had so many times. She travels now with her pet cerbie, Precious.

--Basic--
Name: Sirvix Malone
RPer: Nekogami
Race: Succubus
Level: 1
XP: 0/1000
Max HP: 60/60
Max MP: 60/60
Max TP: 19/19
Initiative: 6+2d6 (8-18)

--Attributes--
Courage: +3
Wisdom: +4
Intuition: +2
Charisma: +3
Agility: +3
Dexterity: +1
Strength: +2
Stamina: +0
Magic Aptitude: +3

Base AT/PA - 11/11
Modified for skill - 14/12
Modified for armor - 13/11

Body=Light Dress (AC 3), Arms=Silk Gloves , Legs=Leather Boots (4 AC), Other=Demon Ring (provides a +4 vs. Holy and Shadow)

Weapon Damage - Heavy Dagger (+1, -1)
Base Damage: 5/8/11
--Skills--
[Innage] Soul Energy Absorption - 3 [cou/cou/cha]
[s]Flight - 2 <Agi>
[s]Musical Talent - 3
Dagger - 4 <Cou/Str/Agi>
Fire Magic - 2 <Int/Wis/Mag>
Shadow Magic - 3 <Int/Wis/Mag>
Animal Handling (Demon) - 5
Sing - 3 <Cha/Cha/Dex>
Motion - 4 <Int/Wis/Mag>
Musical Instrument (Violin)- 3 <Cha/Dex/Dex>
Cooking - 2 <Dex/Dex/Int>

--Spells/Techs--
* [Shadow=1]Shadow Cloud (5 MP) - causes blindness in the target on a successful roll. Blinded targets cannot see and suffer a -6/-6 AT/PA penalty until cured. Blindness wears off in 1d4 rounds naturally.
* [Shadow=1]Serpent Strike (10 MP) - shadow coalesces into snake and strikes, poisons with a successful roll. This poison is level 3 poison, meaning it will deal 3d6 damage the first round, then 2d6, then 1d6, and then be removed from the victim's body.
* [Shadow=2]Showdown (16 MP) - a wave of shadow hits the opponent, dealing 12+rank*3+1d6 damage. Roll for added effect on a d6--even numbers cause blindness for 1d4 rounds, and on a 6, target recieves an additional 2d6 shadow damage.
* [Shadow=3]New Moon (15 MP) - surrounding loose rocks or matter is infused with shadow, a process that cases the matter to lose all luminosity and becomes unstable. Upon contact with the target the shadow-infused matter explodes, dealing 16+rank*4+2d6 damage to a single target.
* [Fire=1]Fire 1 (5MP) - deals 8+2*rank+1d6 fire damage.
* [Fire=2]Fire 2 (10MP) - deals 14+6*rank+2d6 damage.
[Innate, Soul Energy Absorption=1] Seductive Drain (2 TP/round) - Using her succubus powers, Sirvix can absorb the energy of living creatures through...intimate contact. Each round of continued "activity" (even a kiss will suffice) the affected target suffers (Rank + Level) shadow elemental damage multiplied by the total number of rounds contact has continued (i.e., x2 damage the second round, x3 damage the third round, and so forth). Sirvix gains one-half the damage dealt each round as MP; if her MP are full, excess "spill-over" restores her HP instead. The affected target must make an INT check versus Sirvix's skill to even realize he is being damaged! A new check is permitted each round as long as the target is conscious. Note: This ability is normally very difficult to use in combat and requires that the succubus be grappling her target, but creative succubi might find ways around obtaining consent...At GM's option, "more intimate" contact may provide a damage bonus
[Motion magic=4]Dimension door (10 MP) - Short-range teleport. Line of sight only, with a range of [rank] x 10 feet.

I'd be willing to submit either her but she may be woefully inadequate. I leave that up to you and the experts.

We can work on updating her sheet for the last set of PS revisions. Brian might be your best bet for that, and he has said he'll be available in the evenings before I get home to assist if needed.

Hey guys!

I'm pending participation in this game (first Chat RP EVAH if you don't count some CI six years ago), and per Kai's request I'm posting my work-schedule here (I live, after all, EST+6). If it clashes with your schedules, I'm willing to step aside for the greater good, but playing at 5 am is actually totally awesome, believe it!

Anyway, here we go. I'll be using weeks, as its easier than using complete dates. On Working weekends, I can't play saturdays (sundays for me), but Fridays work. On free weekends anything goes.
This week, 27, I'm working.
Next week, 28, I'm not
Week 29 I'm working
Week 30 I'm not
Week 31-33 I'm working

As I'm currently looking for weekday work like a maniac beaver, this is prone to change, and if I do get one, consider weekends free completely (I will reveal this information as soon as my beaver-paws can type). Again, if you find that Fridays don't work, do tell.

Okay. Right now we have Brian, Nama, and Amanda, and Christian if we can swing Fridays.

I spoke to Shaun, but didn't get a response. So... I'm gonna keep bugging him if I see him on AIM so that we can try and start this coming weekend. I think by then I'll be a little steadier dealing with my work schedule, so we can try stuff then.

Okay, since Shaun hasn't responded, I'm going to count him as a no.

Is everyone okay to start at around 2300 EST on Friday?

... ...

Holy crap I can do that...

I've got a two-weekend spanning staycation that starts next week, and more than likely, the weekend after that, I'll probably be working a morning shift, so an open evening! After that, if everyone can put up with a "two weekends on, one weekend off" thing...

Goren's in.

Now where the heck did I put that sheet of his...? Ah, I'll find it...

Solis wants part of this action, I'd say. I need more RP in my life, and such. Usually available after noon for this, too. Just wonder if I can still play Solis...

Does Friday late-late work for you?

Edit: I took today off work. So I get a chance to figure out what Saturday shifts are like, week after this one. Those are at ten in the morning which means that while this Friday is okay for me to GM when I get home and be up until four or whatever, next Friday will not be a good day for this. We will either need to try Saturday, or skip that weekend.

What say you all?

Otherwise, see you tonight when I get off work.

So... at 6:20, Amanda and Shaun were nowhere to be found.

If you guys see this, it'd be really awesome if you could assure me you'll be around next week, and maybe give me an alternate way to contact you or something if you're not on AIM. It's later for Christian than for any of the rest of us, so if I don't see everyone online in the next hour or two, I'm not gonna push him to stay awake until O'Dark-Hundred Hours for something that might not happen tonight.

If all else fails, next session is scheduled for Friday. BE THERE, kthx. If you're not going to be there, please let me know before then, or hell. I can give you my cell phone and you can call me. I just don't want things to be held up by scheduling.

Edit:

All right. It's 8:00. Tonight's session is cancelled. Session is Friday. Everyone will post in this thread between now and then to confirm that they understand when we are meeting, and to commit to being there.

See you all next week.

Yes. Fridays I get off work at around ten, and add a half hour commute to get home and that puts us starting at elevenish.

Still waiting for a couple of people to check in, though.

If I read this thread more, I'd know things like when the next session was.

SO! To remedy this, I will do one of two things: First, I will subscribe to this thread. Two, I will PM you my cell phone number so that I may be rang/texted if I'm late.

When these things occur, I'm usually home but distracted. (Also will make it so AIM makes noise when I'm away).

Fridays are good, weekends are good. Will read the thread more.

CIRP with plot-related stuff this Friday night. Everyone else will be there, or they will explain why not in this thread, or I will write them out. Sound like a plan?

I'm a bastard for putting this up so late, but I'm unfortunately not going to be able to attend tonight's CI session. Reason is my colleague's sick and I need to take the morning pass instead of evening as I usually do, so I start work at 8 am. Not really gonna be able to do much CI:ing since I would be leaving about an hour after we'd start.

Kay. So last week was a bust. Fine. Two questions:

A) Are we still on for this weekend?

B) Is there any chance we can do this Friday instead of Saturday? It isn't NECESSARY, it'd simply make my social life FAR easier.

*coughs*

Yeah, so, I was sleeping tonight. Reason? There hadn't been any posts here to confirm whether or not there'd be a game, and I was exhausted after a week of working night shifts.

unfortunately, this is one of the weekends on which I work at the store, so I will be leaving for work at 6 AM (12 PM EST).

Thus, I cannot really participate in tonight's game. Hopefully someone will read this. I'm sorry that I can't participate, especially since it was one of the requirements that we were supposed to take part in this every time, but I mentioned I could only play fridays on weekend's I work, and again I was under the impression that there wouldn't be a game last night.

So, as for Miriam, she's a ghost for this session. :(

Since this was our first actual "sit down and use the system to advance the plot" session, you guys got to the village near the portal that got infected, and are slogging through the horrible process of dealing with that situation. Some bad guys were killed. Some mercy killings were doled out among the infected, and Lyov is slowly getting through the ranks of those he can actually save.

Miriam and Solis did not have players present, so you guys should probably have a chance to do some CI stuff or something so that your characters can get a chance to get your reactions out and settled and all that stuff. I'll be sending a log with a more complete recap once I'm certain I've got everything together.

Session is planned for Friday evening EST, but likely earlier than we've been able to manage so far. Brian and I are headed to a neighboring state, and I'll be taking Friday off. We'll be in Ohio by the time gaming-time approaches, and I expect that we'll be able to be online and all that stuff just fine. f by some bizarre fluke we don't have internet, I'll call Amanda as soon as I can (since she's the only not-Brian person I can feasibly inform without the internet), and request that she bear these sad and disappointing tidings to you all. I honestly don't think that'll be necessary, though.

So... hopefully we can figure out a CI or two this week (even if it's just a couple of one-on-ones or whatever) to make sure everyone's together. Aside from that, I'll see you guys Friday.

This weekend Brian and I are having a friend from out of state visit, and it's highly unlikely there'll be time for actual gaming.

I intend to continue us past a few tasks: Lyov needs a few days to get through all the survivors, and then y'all need to head to the Netherworld because THAT is where this shit is rooted. But you knew that.

If you want to RP out that interim time, CI should absolutely happen. If you guys do one-on-one RPs or a group chat without me, please do send me a copy so that I can award XP. Hopefully we can get together at some point outside of regular game-time, but if not... I'll see you guys next week.

I may not be available during the entire regular RPing time this Friday, as I start work a bit earlier. 11 AM GMT (6 AM EST?), but I might have time for a few hours before that, or earlier in the evening
