The Doman Daily News

"Alahanan Warships Cause Chaos over Bazaar"
2 dead, 24 Injured, Says Report.

Today the forecast did not call for rain but we did get falling debris from an Argovian airship being attacked by two Alahi airships of war.

It was a stunning sight to see the two ships exchanging magic. At one point, the Alahi summoned a large spider like entity that caused the enemy ship to explode, showering the Doman streets below with burning debris and causing several house fires, killing one elderly woman. One citizen interviewed had this to say, "Well, I was in the kitchen, makin the dough for the mornin biscuits and there's pieces of one of those sky ships all over the street!I grabbed the kids and ran, had to get out in case one hit the house...I don't know what I'd do if we lost it! It's all we've got here!"

The streets erupted into a mob shortly after. The Alahi ships landed and swarmed the streets with guards searching after what Highguard Salvadore Messiah describes as a "fugitive". He would not expose what the fugitive had done but condemned Alahi actions and called for "proper extridition". He's quoted as calling the Alahi, "madmen".

Social unrest continued throughout Doma for several nights, pushing the Guard to it's limits. General Griff Amanziani has assured our reporters that everything is under control.

Prince Aurelis of Alahana is now in Guard custody awaiting trial.

Illusar in the Streets

Unread postby Nekogami » Mon Mar 26, 2007 8:37 pm

The Common People

Drugs, Gangs, and War

It's not secret that the Shango crime organization is the primary source of the drug Illusar in Doma's streets. It's also no mystery that the Shango and the Dong Pai Saam are bitter enemies and that the tension between the two has been as tight as a rubber band. What's the real conundrum here is how the drug has begun to proliferate.

The leader of the Dong Pai Saam, Kenni Wong, has put a near stranglehold on the Shango's usual trade routes making it so that a cheaper, weaker version has been all that the Shango have been able to manufacture and sale. Illusar is made from a tropical plant in Argovia. Taking the drug is said to give the user deep hallucinations and for mages a temporary spike in power.

Sources say that Alahanan agents are supporting the Shango but these reports cannot be verified. However, the drow island nation has taken control of several popular trade routes in Argovia and several small islands where the Illusar plant proliferates.

Doman officials have not yet commented on the gang situation but it's suspected that Doma will not involve itself in the war unless things escalate and trouble our great nation.

Doma Closes Beldad Gate

Unread postby Nekogami » Wed Mar 28, 2007 7:42 pm

Doman Daily News

"Doma Closes Beldad Gate. Merchants Irate, Authorization Required."

King Charles Domananda has officially declared the Beldad Gate closed until further notice. Crossing the gate requires special review and authorization which could take months, says authorities.

The Gate provided quick and easy access to Argovia and the Doman ally nation of Beldad. Closing the gate has stifled trade and rustled the feathers of many of Doma's elite. Riverman Langley of Langley and Sons, had this to say:

"The King is choking this nation and for what? Antiquated ideals?! I'm disappointed but have no choice but to agree with his decision."

"Senators from the Dillidan Complex Insult King in Racist Ignorance"

By: Pia Rossi

Well, it seems like the rumors are true about the Dillidan Complex. In a meeting at Random Bar and Inn on, the aptly named, Domanada Ave, four Senators from the Dillidan Complex were arrested after a heated exchange.

"I've never been so insulted in my life," fumed our King Charles. "They had...the unmitigated gall... to suggest that Doma should approve of their senseless, stupid, irrational ethnic cleansing campaign. When asked if he would proclaim war against the Dillidanians he shook his head and repeated his sentiments of peace even in the face of racist imperialism. "We won't make any aggressive moves as far as the Argovia War is concerned. I think it would be unwise to involve ourselves."

The four Senators were escorted out of the bar in their togas and handcuffs, blustering as only politicians can. One of the armed escorts, Jeridan Arvina, said that the Senators were arrested for their own safety citing that their racists attitudes would likely get them killed in a place as diverse as Doma.

The Senators will be sent home via boat as soon as possible. When asked for further details the King declined to comment stating that the Dillidanians were of little concern once they were out of his country.

Drugs A Growing Problems in Doma
Clinics Working Overtime to Help the Addicted
Justus Agustus

Kryl. Illusar.

Just to name a few of the most popular drugs hitting the streets hard in Doma. "It's gotten so bad," says one young cleric, "That I've even had noblemen carried into the temple half-dead. Someone's got to do something or I'll die of pity and exhaustion." Indeed, a few of Doma's higher class has fed into the allure of drugs.

"Illusar Wine" is what it's called when a vial of pure Illusar is mixed with high grade Valthka. The resulting cocktail causes euphoria and heightened senses for hours. "It's best when you sip it or else the high hits you too fast and ends too quickly," commented an informant for the gazette. When questioned where one got the ingredients, they only said, "If I told you, I'd be killed. I'm risking my life as it is but someone's got to get a hold of this problem."

The increase of supply hitting the streets can't be attributed to anyone just yet but the Shango are the likely suspects however there are no confirmed reports of the drug cartel being in Argovia as far as this humble journalist can tell.

However, Justus Agustus is dedicated to Doma and is heading to Argovia at the end of this month to follow the trail of drugs and report back to the necessary authorities.

Vigilante Prince Freed! Doma's Gate Closed Permanently!
Domanada Run over by Alahi Delegates
Gorgo Rockhammer

Imagine this journalist's shock when she heard that after a few hours in a high end bar King Charles Domanada released the man that is responsible for 2 deaths and thousands of dollars in property damage! The details are not certain but what is is that Prince Aurelius of Alahana is free and has left Doma for good, it seems.

Furthermore, Charles has permanently closed the Beldad Gate, retarding trade with the tropical nation indefinitely. What his reasons for doing this are, we are not sure but he declined comment even when pressured for details.

It seems like no coincedence that his decisions was made directly after a heated meeting with the Alahi drow. Riverman Langley of Langley and Sons, a trading business, had this to say: "I wasn't the least bit surprised. The King has repeatedly shown his weakness in the face of adversity. Doing what's best economically for this nation has never been at the forefront and we continue to stagnate while nations like Nekonia are blasting ahead at full speed. The drow understand the meaning of evolution, unlike our king. I pains me to say it but I think the reign of Domanada is ending."

Sorune the Druid, seen with the king, seemed to hold a different view: "I think he handled it quite well. The Alahi were rude and pushy to a fault." He seemed to hold the king in high-esteem and commented that Domanada continues to do what is best for the nation. This druid has also been seen with Hakaril Silvar, general and Taiar Valcrist, friend of the Queen, so the bias of this man may be in question.

The backlash from Domanada's actions will be felt throughout the nation and by anyone that deals with Argovia on a close and personal basis.
