Prelude to War: Mossflower

Unread postby Besyanteo » Fri Apr 21, 2006 11:02 pm

Ok, so. I'm going to put this right here at the top of the thread. Yes, this is related to something big I'm planning for later. Very big. It'll get into the stuff I wanted to to with Baron later. However, by and large, this RP will have no significant or lasting impact on Gaera. Most of the action to this story will be going on in other worlds.

That said: This installment is a sort of disconnected sequel to Dark Tidings. It will explain some of the things that didn't make sense in the first RP, and set the tone for RPs to come. It takes place in a modified version of Brian Jacques' setting for his Redwall and Mossflower book series. It's fairly obscure, but I'm fishing for interest anyway. For those who don't know, it's a sort of semi-furry version of a small, small section of England in medi-eval times.

I say semi-furry because it doesn't fall into the traps of cross-breeding, neon fur colors, unilateral average height and build, or even uniform bi-pedal races. There will be no furtaurs or non-birds with wings or dragons. The race list is limited to the kinds of wild-life you might find in a forest in England or North America, and not even all of that.

If you haven't been run off by all of that yet, I'm looking for one or two more players to supplement my current cast, which is very limited. Phil-Sys Chat RP, having read the books is not required, since this story is going to deviate from those. So far, I have Shaun, Neb, and Idran for sessions running on Sundays from 8 PM to Midnight.

I can explain anything that's unclear about the setting via IM, and if you want to participate then go ahead and IM me. Anyone who hasn't read the books is going to need me or Shaun to go over some basics about the races avaliable to be picked from, and how magic should is going to be handled in this setting, since the world at large has yet to actually discover magic.

Edit: I've got two sheets so far; One from Shaun, one from Chuck. Still waiting on Neb, Idran and Jak. I hope to get things rolling around early May.

I've gotten a bunch of questions about this, but nothign definite, so I'm asking here:

Does the 8PM to Midnight time still work for people?

Works for me. As does Charles' time, if we would have to use that.

Which means, so far, everyone's good for the sunday after the one this week. Unless I misunderstand.

Which is fine, really. We still need to hear from Neb and Pervy.

SPeaking of which...

Neb! Sheet! PLEASE! ;-;

Ok, Neb: I'm going to be late. I'm getting a bunch of work dumped on me at the last minute, as usual.

I need to know something from all of you: What are your mondays from 8PM-Midnight or 10PM-2AM are like? It sounds like most of you can handle that (Chuck, for example, has already told me that either is fine. I believe Shaun has as well.), but I want to double check. Or in Neb's case, check for the first time.

Ok. I should have posted this... significantly sooner.

I'm having trouble getting my shit together and being around early enough to do the RP. The family just isn't leaving me the hell alone when I need them to these days. I'm doing my best to get around that, but I can only do so much.

Also, Neb's schedule doesn't work for Thursdays anymore. How is everyone with Wednesdays?

We're going to try for Thursday this week. Anyone going to have a problem making it?

Tuesdays and Thursdays suck, but Tuesdays only half as much. I'm apparently in on Saturdays for Brian's thing, so that leaves Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday (provided AIM doesn't hate me.)

Mondays and Thursdays are taken, usually with Tae Kwon Do or some other things, and Saturdays are as you know. Free until Idran's thing starts up. Other than that, no disasters just yet.
