Gunnir: The Next Generation

Unread postby KingOfDoma » Sun Jul 16, 2006 11:59 am

Many years ago, a powerful gray elf sorceror named Koravel took a decidedly unhealthy interest in one Annie Rose. His mad machinations culminated in her rape, and subsequent impregnation. In a sick twist, she was also seeded with the offspring of her two suitors, Blades Bill McCutcheon, a human, and Elan il Bast, a drow.

Several years later, Koravel finally found his son, Quillan, after years of searching, and fearing for his safety, sent him off to Gunnir Academy.

Which should make the upcoming year at Gunnir VERY interesting indeed...

Recruitment thread. A series of 2nd Generation, Gunnir based "story arc" chat RPs. Not always mission based, but always pulling towards the end of a bigger story.

I will need students, teachers, and times when you can play.

... see, I made it more interesting! I can do it! WHEE!

Garsh, I sure hope this picks up. I think RPing at Gunnir will make for a very interesting campaign.

I have several people who have gone to Gunnir, and I would like to use at least one of them as a teacher.

However, I need to know the status of dream magic as of 2nd gen.
-----

If I can think of a way to get someone in Gunnir, I'll let you know.

At the very least, this'll be an interesting one to watch.
-------------------------

I'd like to get in as a student or a teacher, whichever you need. I'll have to make a new character regardless, so it doesn't matter to me. As far as times, I'm usually good between, say, 9pm and 2am EST, although I can't always promise I won't have work and/or my sister interfearing.

Sidenote: The Harvest Moon cow makes me very very happy.
-------

We can have it be an optional class.

Well, seeing as how the expert on dream magic has historically been Pervy, I doubt you'll get an official line. I'd say extrapolation of the present is the way to go. Any spread of dream magic is going to be slow, since it's esoteric, and you're building from a small base of practitioners.

Much as it is in 'present' Gaera, really. Unknown to the general populace, but certainly an option for a PC. And of course, the first thing any Gunnir mage will do after rediscovering an ancient and forgotten school of magic is start teaching classes on it.

Making sure said school is safe is probably about the fourth or fifth thing they do, depending on the mage.

Also, while mildly interested, I'm just not able to commit to a chat campaign at present.
Centuries of threats of "I'll turn you all to stone!" and "I'll knock you all down!" have caused Domans to develop an instinct to form small groups. For safety, I assure you. – Keir

Considering that there's less than a handful of dream mages I know of in first gen, and at least one of them has completely vanished by second (With another dead, another dealing with a potential civil war, and the last being not-the-teachy-type), I highly doubt Dream Magic will be any more well known than it was in 1st gen.

Not....really. At least, not me. It would move too slow, in my opinion. But I'm just one person. We'll see what the rest think...

I'm alright with a board RP, and I've already said when I think I can manage to get on for a chat. Doesn't really affect me either way.

OMG Character!
-------

I'm fine with board RP, especially since the next couple days are going to be iffy for internet access anyway. I'm going on a trip with family to Pennsylvania.
-----

Yay! Philsys...

Also, I propose a start date be named, so we can know when to be ready.

Any seconds?

I've edited Joachim for Philsys. If someone experienced with Philsys would give him a look it'd make me very happy. I couldn't find any damage stats for a quarterstaff and I'm afraid some of the techs might be unbalanced.
-------

OK! I've maaaaaaaaaade a decision.

This will be a HYBRID RP. There will be chat stuff to have CI interaction and get down some of the characters. There will be no set cast. We'll run it like a universe. You can come and go as you please. Eventually, there will be one or more board RPs to relate to this, but it'll be just like any other place.

The first one is happening... TONIGHT! No need for sheets, just come into the room Cantrips OneOhOne whenever you feel like it. See you there!
