Hello.

As you may be able to tell I'm kinda new, although I'm not new to forum RPing. I've read your guidlines but I still have a few questions about how things are run round here. I'm sorry if you get ask this a lot or if I've posted this in the wrong place as theirs nothing quite like getting off on the wrong foot.

1. What is your RP world Gaera? Any info or details would be greatly apreciated.

2. How do you run your RPGs are they freeform (where posters can nudge the story in directions they like) or GM'ed (where the GM, often the creator of the RP itself controlls the story and his word is final) or a mix of both?

3. Do you allow RP's based on existing franchises ie. anime/games/films etc.?

4. If the answer to 3 is yes do you prefer orginal RPs to ones based on existing franchises?

Currently that's all I have, so I'll wait till I get some answers before I start putting down some of my own ideas for RPs and joining others.

It's not as big as it used to be, but there's a link to the FAQ from our main page and from every forum (lunk = link; inside joke). It's very informative. Anyway.

1. Gaera is explained in the link that Jak editted Daien's post to contain. Go there.

2. It depends on the RP and the GM in question. Most GMs will try and nudge the RPs in the direction they were intending. Some RPs, especially CIRPs (Character Interaction RPs) tend to be more unplanned and may go in unexpected ways - I expect my D&D campaign, when it starts up, to do that. Rather odd feeling, expecting the unexpected. People say to expect the unexpected all the time, but it's actually really an odd thing. I think most of the people who say it don't know what they're talking about.

3. Err. I don't think there's anything that says you can't do that. I think it's been done at least once or twice that I can recall.

4. Yes, original RP ideas are far preferred to saying "HEY LET'S RP AS INU-YASHA!!!" and whatnot. <p>-_-___-___-___-_-

Though to expand on what Spleen said in 4, We have had some fairly hilarious RPs based on such things as FF7 and Slayers. Ah, nothing quite like breaking the fourth wall and refering to the game guide to get a cheap laugh. ^_^ <p>
