New Game Beginnings (The .hack rip-off, once more)

Unread postby Dragon Sage007 » Wed Oct 26, 2005 12:17 pm

Reyta has been bought out, redesigned, and released under a new name-Y'tuin! (Yes, I know, shameless.) The new game boasts that all of the old bugs in the system has been fixed, and that it is amazingly fun...plus, if you are one of the first five hundred to send them an e-mail, then you are loaned a free system to play Reyta for one month! And the first to e-mail gets a free deluxe system! All of the old systems still work, of course, and anyone that had an old character under Reyta can still access it in Y'tuin...however, there's a catch. While you retain all old abilities and items, and one half of your gold, you have to start at level 1 again. However, you can choose a new class with these abilities.

The systems currently run anywhere from $300 (Basic headset and mouthpiece, with gloves) to $3,000. (Deluxe system, full motion recognition, in-game messaging without freezing, the works.) Winning the contest, of course, gets you one of the Deluxe systems. The old classes are still there, including the Pikeman. The classes and races go as follows...(Ruthlessly stolen from Kev's old OOC post. :{ )

Human: The most common race, for a good reason. They have a solid skill set and can excel in almost whatever job they chose. That is, if the player knows how. The one downside to this race is they get no special attribute bonus.

Wingra: A pale skinned race, the special feature given to this class is as the name implies, small wings on their backs. These wings function to give them a bit more speed then the other races, however they are not made for flight. The most one could get off the ground is maybe one foot and not for that long. The downside to this race is they aren't exactly the best choice if you want to have a close combat class.

Deysetsu: A dark skinned race of dragon-halves. The features they get to share with their fierce monster counter parts is a tail, high resistance to magic, and extra power to their spells. This race can be a good mage or fighter, but stands a bit under humans in physical strength.

Fallion: If you want to make a solid fighter class, this is the race to choose. Built tall and more powerful then the other races, they can be quite literally, a meat shield if used right. A mages best friend, although a bit slower then the other races.

CLASS: Quite self descriptive, it is what you specialize in.

Thief: Thieves specialize in chipping away at a foe and slowly taking them down. They have the ability to steal useful items from monsters. While faster then the other classes, they not as powerful.

Mage: The spellcaster, no dah. Can specialize in a certain area of magic if the player wants, but a mage should almost never go out alone when they start off.

Knight: The fighter, if you want to wield a weapon and hack away at your foe while still managing to have some speed, this is the class you want. A Knight can hold their own in a fight and can learn healing spells at level 10. The Knight is possibly the most popular class.

Axe Wielder: You want power? You got power. With this class you can quite literally take on anything that doesn't cast magic single handedly. The downside of course is, you aren't the fastest thing in the world.

Pole Arm: The almost perfect mix of speed and power. This class is as strong as knight, and almost as fast as a thief. The downside? Almost no defense, and no spells at all.

If you want to sign up, use this form for your character.

Name:Makai
Race:Wingra
Class:Pole Arm
Appearance: As with all Wingra, Makai has small wings and pale skin. The character in question has a somewhat androgynous appearance, to say the least, though is indeed male. He has purple hair that goes down to the shoulders, green eyes, and appears roughly 5'7" in height. Seems to wear a Testament-esque top, in white, with black around the cutoff points, wearing separate sleeves that are white around the shoulder and wrist and black everywhere else. He seems to have stuck with more plain-looking pants, which are black, with white bands around the knees, and topping the appearance off with white boots. He carries around, as per his class, a polearm of a given type, of course.

Description: Makai's player is, well, not quite a roleplaying type despite the game being a MMORPG. However, he has been known as a PK and powergamer on other games. He's quite friendly when not PKing, though he tends not to taunt a kill after it's been done. Of course...he's back to Level 1 now...like that's deterred him before.

There have also been rumors of Makai's player belonging to an elite group of faster, stronger, and smarter people, called "college students". Okay, so maybe they're not faster or stronger, and not necessarily smarter, but you can confuse people with calculus pretty quickly, and they're definitely older. <p>"DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DEFEAT US? Lyle/Terra will still be there. He'd really like Tiff to be there as well. :{

EDIT:Oh yeah. And anyone who was in the last Reyta RPs needs to contact me, so I can give them info on what happened, exactly. I've BSed something that will be totally canon if Kev does return. Someday. <p>

Character name: Cerr
Race: Human
Class: Mage
Appearance: Cerr has brown hair, parted in the middle, and red-brown eyes, and wears a dark green robe with embroidered star patterns on it. She also wears a green headband, several rings, and what looks like a crosshair sight on her left arm. She carries around a large staff with a pointy diamond on one end.
Personality: Cerr is rather manic and high-strung. She likes trying to do the impossible, and doesn't get discouraged even if she fails over and over. What she is trying to do now is be a melee mage; she dives enthusiastically into combat against weaker foes, and slings debilitating spells at stronger enemies to bring them down to the point where she can duel them. After debilitating spells, she prefers healing spells on herself. She will use direct-damage spells if she must, but she doesn't like them. <p>-----
Do not taunt Happy Fun Zemyla.

Dammit, Dan, I'm not dating a damn NPC! - OOC Will (Will Baseton)
Of course! Anything worth doing is worth doing completely wrong! - Travis English
Ultimately, wizards and clerics don't say, "Gee, I want to become a lich because weapons hurt less and I don't have to worry about being backstabbed; that whole 'eternal life' thing is just a fringe benefit."-Darklion
But this one time I killed a walrus with my bare hands, and I suddenly understood spherical coordinates. - KnightsofSquare

INSTRUCTION BOOKLET! =D

Unread postby Dragon Sage007 » Thu Oct 27, 2005 9:50 pm

Welcome to Y'tuin! This manual is intended to give you all of the information you need to begin playing in our game. If you have any further problems, then please contact the GMs at [Insert a message board address here]

x.1 Setting up your system
x.2 Troubleshooting and disclaimers
x.3 Selecting your character
x.4 Customizing your character
x.5 About Y'tuin Cities
x.6 About Y'tuin inhabitants
x.7 Combat
x.8 Shopping
x.9 Quests
x.10 Death and Killing
x.11 Miscellaneous

x.1
To set up your machine, you must [INSERT SOME FUTURISTIC MUMBO JUMBO, POSSIBLY INVOLVING ROBOTS AND SPACE ALIENS, HERE. OR JUST PLUGGING THE HEADSET INTO THE WALL. THIS CHANGES WITH MODEL NUMBER, OF COURSE.]

x.2
DISCLAIMER:We are not to be held liable for epileptic seizures, heart attacks, or advances made to your character while playing. We'd much rather you didn't sue us for these things.
Q.If I'm lagging, what should I do?
A.See if someone is hacking into your account. Y'tuin does not run on Dial-up, and the machine is equipped to handle lag automatically. If you do have lag, and the outfit is secure, than contact SoruneGM@Y'tuin.cnet
Q.I just get a blank screen when I start up. What should I do?
A.Put your headset into a styrofoam box, complete with padding and receipt of your purchase, send it to us, and Y'tuin will replace it completely free. If your current headset model is out of stock, then we will send you the next version up instead.
Q.I have a problem not listed here. Where should I ask questions?
A.All questions can be asked at the Y'tuin Troubleshooting message board, policed by our programmers daily. This message board can be found at [Insert board address here]

x.3
Reyta supplies a variety of choices for you to pick from, but we know that just a few races and classes are not enough. Therefore, we give hundreds of choices as far as clothing, style, and body go. In addition, if you take a picture of yourself, then you can use that as your face or clothing! However, abuse of this and anything crude [Nudity, excessive gore, or kilts] will get your IP banned from the game. You get one warning to change your look, and if you argue at all, then you are banned. Do not ask to come back. There are people under 18 playing the game as well.

x.4
All you have to do is pick your choices, by moving your hand until the cursor in front of your face is over the option you want. If you decide that you made a bad choice, then you can simply hit the 'back' button and undo your choice. (This problem has been fixed from earlier versions)

x.5
Y'tuin's cities are not static things. They are as alive and changing as any city in the real world, and involve many things. Those of you with deluxe headsets can even enjoy some fine cuisine, while the less privelidged among us can still enjoy the amazing sights, art galleries, music halls, and of course shops. These shops also include new looks as well as armor and weapons. It's best explained by seeing it.

x.6
Just like Y'tuin's cities, Y'tuin's citizens are not static things. Gone are the days of NPCs that repeat one line over and over again...instead, these NPCs are difficult to distinguish from real people. Many have told us that the -only- way they knew that NPCs were, in fact, not actual people was by asking them to join their party, which usually resulted in some sort of response like 'You can't afford me.' or 'I'm just a humble merchant with an axe for self-protection.' We are working to overcome this, and allow people to form large bands of NPC parties...

x.7
Combat is simple. If you are a mage, simply say your spell aloud to use it. If you try to use the same spell too soon after your first casting, then your words will be muted to show this. If you are too low on mana, then your fingers will simply spark and not cause anything to happen. Close combat will require you to move your arms in the manner you want to attack the enemy, and move your legs to dodge. Just like you would in real life. You will feel more resistance if you are using a heavy weapon or armor, and less resistance if you have more speed or are using a lighter weapon and armor. In this way, we also hope to inspire fitness in some of our players.

x.8
Shopping is even more simple. You go into stores as you would in real life, and use a 'Credit card' to purchase items. If you have no credits, you'll simply be told such. And shoplifting and getting caught will result in being chased by the Town Guard, being forced to return the items, and being made to either pay a fine or stay in jail for a set amount of time.

x.9
Quests are simply that. Objectives given to you by NPCs or other players. They are added to your quest book (Found in your inventory) automatically, and give a simple outline of what you need to do. In addition, you'll generally be given a map of how to reach your objective. Not always, though, so don't get too used to it. When you accomplish a quest and return to the quest-giver, then you will be rewarded in some way.

x.10
Death in Y'tuin is not so bad. You do not lose items, gold, or equipment as in other games. Instead...you have a temporary loss to your stats, which can be rectified by waiting ten minutes, by going back to town, or by having 'Restore' cast on you. Killing is another thing entirely. While you may kill PCs and NPCs and get experience for doing so (1/100th of their current EXP.) you will also be targeted as a 'Killer' by the local guard. It will be unsafe for you to enter towns, and you will have to deal with the local law enforcement whenever you do. Also, characters may well seek revenge, and they will get no such rank for having vengeance.

x.11
For further questions about Y'tuin, go to the message board found at [Insert message board here]

[The rest of the booklet is a list of class skills and a list of spells, that looks eerily like this. www.geocities.com/dwsage007/Untitled.txt along with a note that says 'Please remember that these are just base spells. You can mix and match as you please in the 'spell mixer' option, and come up with something completely new that you can name. Vulgarities are blocked, however.] <p>

Also, I am going to hold a chat RP-either AIM or boardchat-at 8:00 PM Saturday, November 5. And possibly one or two smaller ones before that. <p>

Character name: Raze Tu'ros
Race: Fallion
Class: Axe
Appearance: (Note that I'm not completely clear on the details of the race I've chosen. I'm just going to say a really really big human right now, please let me know if I've got that wrong.)

Raze stands just under eight feet tall and appears to weigh almost 400 lbs, with most of this weight coming from muscle. His skin is deep bronze in hue, and is marred by scars across its entirity. Of note is a scar that runs from the tip of his left ear down almost to his left shoulder. His eyes are large and blue in color, and the whites are surprizingly clear for one so apprently battle-worn. He has no hair on his head except for his eyebrows, which are thin and colored black. His shoulders are wide and leave very little room for his neck.

He is rarely seen without his armor, which consists of a large, well-polished breastplate strapped across chest atop a simple brown shirt with metal plates sewn in at the shoulders. A set of bracers protect his forearms and the back of his hands, which are otherwise bare. His leggings are made with plates woven into them in the same way as his shoulderplates.

The player: A twenty year old college dude named Sam. He's a heavy set young man and a major nerd. Big time in to roleplaying and powergaming both. He's fairly intelligent, and is very good at manipulating game-engines to his favor--an ability honed by years of consol gaming. He's a quiet person who spends too much of his time gaming, though he maintains good grades dispite this.

Character name: Ethra
Race: Wingra
Class: Polearm
Appearance: Standing approximately 4' with short green hair.
Definitely more muscular than most wingra, he's usually clad in turquoise robes that match his short hair. Made as joke character pretty much you often see him trying to fight a monster, but due to his low defense, he's soon lying on the floor/ground/spikes/whatever. He figures he's staying for just the month trial, an then whenever else he feels like.

The player: A college student now, he was just a teenager when he made his character on Reyta, he decided what the hey let's try this. He dismissed Reyta 2.0, the technical problems with the first game having pissed him off so much. However this game seems pretty interesting, so he's taking a break from trying to figure out how to help the world and enjoying himself... some more.

Character Name: Alexander Christ
Race: Human
Class: Polearm

Appearance: At a svelte 5'6'', he lacks the build that most people would associate with a frontline fighter. Long dark hair, tied back, a pale complexion, and a thin-boned facial structure make him look more like a mage than anything.

He's short, thin, perhaps even a bit waifish, and he looks like he takes hits about as well as most mages do. However, he's a character that has been designed with exquisite care and planning by someone who clearly doesn't have much else to do, and that same someone is willing to invest plenty of time and effort into creating a character that's hell on wheels. His appearance is extremely detailed, a highly customized job that must have taken hours to accomplish, and his skill set and abilities are painstakingly balanced and maximized in a manner that could only be done with plenty of deliberation and research.
Another mark in his favor is that he kept some extremely choice but not immediately usable pieces of equipment, maybe due to the high status and fame scores he had in the last game.

Despite the class, Alexander Christ doesn't use a pole arm unless he absolutely has to. Rather, he uses double-weapons and dual-wields knight swords and small arms in a fight, and specializes in high accuracy and damage-per-strike as well as a great parry/counter rate. Also, his stats pan out to make him less quick in exchange for the ability to take more in the way of hits.

Devoid of all of his equipment, he's essentially dressed in a kind of black body stocking with a variety of leather accessories (like belts, gloves, and boots), as well as his "trademark" blue flowing scarf (actually a Force Scarf) and single braid tied up with some beads, padawan-style.

The player: The REAL Alexander Christ is a high-school Junior at the Seven Sisters High School, a private school in the northern suburban areas that is actually of the same city that Lyle and Tiffany live in. He's athletic and popular, (despite the fact that he mostly keeps to himself), rides around on a motorcycle that he fixed up, and hides the fact that he obsessively plays MMORPGs from his peers. He named his character after himself just because the name sounds heroic and he thinks that it's somewhat ironic that a hero in another realm has the same name he does, whether or not this hero is controlled by him or not. He also has recently been developing a liking for roleplaying, though this is something he's not quite used to, yet. <p>[---------------------------]

Name: Luziel Medallion
Race: Deysetsu
Class: Mage
Spell Focus: Benediction and Healing

Appearance

Of average height and considerable thinness, Luziel's skin is a shimmery copper that looks more like metal than flesh, and her waist-length hair looks like it was spun from some sort of red metal. Her draconian features are sleek and light, giving her an elegant appearance. Her outfit includes extravagant and exotic-looking white robes, with gold trimming and jewelry. She also has a fancy-looking hat that works into her elaborate hairpiece. The entire outfit is trimmed and adorned with important-looking runes. She carries a healer's shoulder satchel, and a white and copper staff with a sparkly gold crystal on the end. Her entire outfit strongly suggests that she is a priest of some church, and appears to offer no more protection than ordinary robes. Unlike most robes worn by female magic users, they have no cleavege or leg-exposing skirt splits; it's rather conservative.

Personality

Luziel's demeanor is almost always good-natured and spirited. She's always quick to offer aid, even with no promise of return, and makes every effort to mediate potentially violent arguments. She has a strong resonant voice that most find pleasant, and can speak with surprising clarity and volume even in the middle of a raging battle. She's surprisingly athletic and graceful for a magic user. Despite her determination to be all things good and decent, she can get incredibly carried away with alcohol; something she's not ashamed of in the slightest.

Equipment

Robes of the Priestess: Extravagant looking, these robes are more of a uniform than actual battle gear. They offer very slight protection against magic and natural elements. These robes can be fitted overtop of armor for convenience.

Sun Bow: A home-made shortbow that allows any user to cast the spell "Light Arrow." This spell conjures an arrow of pure light that can then be launched like any other arrow, scorching the living and smiting the undead. Damage and range is determined by the wielder's level; at level 1, it's very inexpensive and pitiful, save for use against undead. At much higher levels, it does respectable damage over really astonishing distances with pinpoint accuracy. Light arrows glow for thirty seconds wherever they land... including if they stick in an enemy.

Mages Staff: This staff is identical to the staffs mostmages start of with; it's appearance is dramatically different, with an ivory shaft and a golden-framed crystal headpiece. In melee, it's far more useful for defence than attack.

Healers Kit: Used to store medicines, bandages, and antidotes. Natural healing is far more efficient than spellcasting, but requries medical supplies and time.

Lady's/Lord's Book: An armored and locked notebook, used to keep records. Characters must acquire one of these through questing before they can purchase commercial or military property, establish a dedicated trade shop, collect taxes, or assume any serious position of leadership. Usualy worn on one's belt, it is a sign of political status and a person who owns one is often reffered to as "Lord" or "Lady." Very few characters have any need for such an item, since it's easy and cheap to rent a house or a shop from an existing Lord or Lady. Books cannot be traded, exchanged, borrowed, or even discarded under any circumstances; they are a unique and permenant fixture of the individual character.

Grimoire

While Luziel posess all the basic spells of her class, she prefers to rely on "hard to use" spells; she enjoys spells that affect an area, have a long duration, take the form of a wall or field, or have specific tactical uses. They take more skill to use, and cannot be cast nearly as rapidly. She also enjoys using Dispell and Counterspell magic against enemy spellcasters whenever possible.

Her natrual mage ability is different from the Blood Magic of other mages. Spell Pulse allows some single-target spells to affect all party allies for longer durations. energy cost goes up, but the result is always more efficient. Only spells of a beneficial nature can be pulsed. Certain spells, such as Ressurection, cannot be Pulsed.. <p>---

Also, do weapons have stats that set them as obviously being better/worse, or what? I'd figure since this is supposed to be a game world there'd be concrete stats associated with the weapons... <p>

To Lloyd:I'll allow, well, everything there. As for entering? Well, you'd automatically go into the Oldbie chat room, and from there, the newbie town. Just introduce yourself.

To Gamer:Yes. yes indeed. Don't worry about specifics, the RP won't really focus on the gear. Much.

Hm... this sounds familar... I wonder why?

Ah yes, its the RP I tried to do a looooong time ago twice but it died each time. >:

I... might join. Depends if I can string up my old characters. I'm curious as to what direction this will be taken in the hands of another. <p>-------------

Holy shit, t'is Kev. Holy freaking fuck. o.o

Sure, c'mon in. Choose a character that isn't, y'know, the hacker from the last two. I imagine his IP would be banned, locked in a chest, and tossed into a river. <p>

Hm. Okay then! While the predictable choice would be Kazu, I'll diverge from the norm and poke who was supposed be a key player back in the original with her own large sword.

Character name: Saori
Race: Human
Class: Knight

Appearance: Standing at five feet even, with short shoulder length red hair, and calm blue eyes, she has tried to recreate her image somewhat. She wears a full set of dark blue armor, with gold trim around the edges. A sky blue cape drapes off her shoulders, and stops a foot short from reaching the ground as she walks. Despite the look of the armor, it is more a tribute to what she used to do, and those who were her best friends back then, then a desire to look the role of a actual Knight.

Description: A player from the original version of Reyta, she used to be head of large group of players known as the Watchers who were essentially the town guard and peacekeepers for various in game cities. While after the shutdown of the first version, she disbanded the group of her own accord, it was also partly because she had grown tired of keeping the strong front she had to put up as the head of the group. She had not even bothered joining the second version of the game, as she needed a break from the game.

However, when the newer version came out, a few of her friends asked her to join them in playing once again. When she heard that everyone would be starting at level 1, and just be keeping some of their equipment, she decided to try the game once more. This time to just be a regular player, and enjoy the game for what it is.

The Player: Back when she originally played in the first version, she was just starting college, and played with her friends around the dorm, thus starting the whole Watchers group who eventually got adopted by the game's higher ups themselves. She now has graduated and works as a high school teacher assistant at the moment.

Not sure how much equipment transfers over, so I'll just pick a few things, let me know if I should axe/change something. <.<

Notable Equipment Transfered:

Guardians Blade: A sizeable two handed black sword with two golden wings for a hilt, that increases the defense of the user by ten percent. Not much of a difference at lower levels, but can make a huge difference at higher levels. Level 10 requirement to equip.

High Watchers Armor: A high level set of armor, boosting defense by a good deal, and gives a small boost to healing magic, however requires the user to be at least level 15.

Leaders Sword: A dark red one handed sword, with a light blue hilt, which gives a sizeable boost to attack power, while decreasing the users magic power. Level 17 requirement to equip.

Leaders Shield: Matching the sword, it's front is dark red, with the shape a dragon on the front in a light blue color. Increases evasion and defense, but decreases magic. Level 17 requirement to equip

Dragonic Spear: A weapon from a old friend in version 1, now a polearm exclusive weapon, she keeps it as a memento of her old friend. Deals a large bonus to dragon type and lizard monsters, and has high attack power. Level 20 requirement to equip.

Give me a good poke if I need to change/remove anything. o.o <p>-------------

Sage, you forgot my post. :{

Also, to prevent this from being completely useless: Cerr's spell list (not complete)

Cerr combined many spells to create new ones in order to become the greatest melee mage. Among these include:

Tremor (elemental, earth): The ground shakes under one creature, which has a chance of falling down. MP 5
Soul and Body (dark): A reversal of Body and Soul; whenever her HP drops to 5 or below, she can use MP instead of HP to resist damage. Since mages have much more MP than HP, this increases her survivability.
Legion Sword (elemental, air): This spell is cast upon a weapon, and creates shadowy duplicates of it that swirl around it. This causes the weapon to deal damage to a creature as if several weapons had hit it. MP 63.
Souldrinker (dark): A weapon this spell is cast upon drains MP upon striking as well as dealing damage, and the wielder gains the MP. MP 30.
Blur (light): A lesser version of invisibility, this causes insubstantial images to swirl around the caster, obscuring both her vital targets and where her attack are coming from. MP 10.
Avatar of War (dark): Cerr's signature spell, and most of the reason she won over 100 PvPs back in Reyta. This potent spell creates a ring of gray radiance to appear around Cerr; any foes in the ring start losing POW when they enter the radiance, and Cerr gains the POW that they lose. This makes her quite powerful, especially since the POW gained from multiple foes is cumulative. MP 130. <p>-----

Ultimately, wizards and clerics don't say, "Gee, I want to become a lich because weapons hurt less and I don't have to worry about being backstabbed; that whole 'eternal life' thing is just a fringe benefit."-Darklion

I guess I'll give a list of what Alex Christ has- as well as a list of his abilities.

Blue Dragon Robes
A deep/royal blue robe/talbard cut in the Middle Kingdom Chinese style with black trim. Provides a 5% boost to Speed, Strength, and Magic Points. It's wearable at level 1.

Circlet
Plain old silver-plated steel circlet. Provides a only minor boost to defense, but it looks kind of neat. It's level 1 armor, so it's not all that great.

Sweeper of Sins(Scythe)
"A weapon made by a sect of holy monks who seek to guard this world from the encroaching forces of the next." Not really as impressive as it sounds, it's however a fairly good weapon that anyone can use, provided they're willing to make the speed sacrifice that a scythe usually entails. A newbie weapon with a vengeance.

Force Scarf (Forsena Scarf)
This item was renamed in the switch over to Y'tuin from Reyta- Forsena was a region that doesn't exist in the current version, so having a scarf from there sporting the Forsena emblem doesn't make sense. It got renamed. The Force Scarf gives the Force Charge ability (formerly known as the Forsena Rush) which level 1 characters can't use. It WAS a highly sought-after item by people who use techniques to elicit most of their damage, enabling them to use two techniques at once provided a line of sight is clear, the enemy is not yet engaged, and enough MP for the two techniques plus the cost of Force Charge is available. If you plot it right, you can execute combos by yourself. Without Force Charge, it just provides a minor boost to defense and takes up the neck slot. The Force Charge ability isn't actually useful until you have enough MP to string along techniques.

Blade of Carnage
A one-handed sword that is brilliantly fast and restores a teensy amount of magic points per kill. Fitting with its description, it's blood-red and has black runes along the flat of the blade. It's also not useable until level 35.

The Hairbrush of the Pretty Star Rainbow Princess
This hairbrush is a non-tradeable quest item that is worn in the off-hand slot, much like a shield. However, it's a weapon that provides a whopping 20% boost to dodge and parry when equipped, plus it only very, very slightly slows down the attack rate of the wielder, unlike a variety of other specifically off-hand weapons. In appearance, it's pink, is decorated with sequins, and features a small reflective surface on the flat of the brush that can be used as a mirror. One of the most useful items on this side of The Mop of the Sanitator and the Handbag of Great Crisis. However, you need a free hand to use it, so heavier weapons are out of the question while using The Hairbrush of the Pretty Star Rainbow Princess. Nothing is quite as funny as someone dressed in black-laquered body-covering full-plate mail wielding an axe made of the suffering of the innocents in one hand and a pretty pink hairbrush in the other.

Cross Kit:Blue
Low-end healing items. Alex has five of them.

WHAT ALEX REALLY WANTS
Adamantium Foil
Alexander Christ's low-end dream weapon, a fast, strong, unbreakable sword that a level 1 character can use which adds 10% of the user's speed to their strength score for the purpose of calculating damage and to-hit. It's beautiful to behold and the fact that he doesn't have one is something that is pointed out to him every time he swings his bulky Sweeper of Sins

Boots of the Shadow Dancer
Boots that increase walking speed, give an automatic 10% miss chance to any effect that a hostile sends at the character who wears them, and provides a set (not percentage) boost to Speed, Evade, and Defense.

Reason
Alexander Christ's custom sword from his original days in Reyta, it's a weapon that molds together the armor-piercing capacity of a Great Star Rapier, the speed-bonus-to-strength of a Foil of the Almighty, the reduction to MP cost of a Hellstone Staff, the Kill-bonus-to-MP of a Rage: Fallen but Believed, and any other number of ridiculous twink things. The problem with the weapon is that you need to be hilariously high level to use it (which is kind of funny since you need to be hilariously high level to commission this kind of weapon in the first place). It followed the plan of the GM-only weapon Sword of the Ancient Almighty, though of course off by a degree of magnitude down since it was literally impossible to make a weapon on the order of strength that the Ancient Almighty GM-only set had. Not even GMs could manufacture them.

Fool's Chain of the Dark Lord
A suit of clothes that look like chainmail. They provide no bonus to stats, but it does enable you to look like you're wearing multiple layers of armor- and the Chain of the Dark Lord item is pretty cool-looking, if unwearable by anyone who isn't a Knight.

Lord's Book
Despite the fact that he never really wanted it in the first place, the act of owning it was kind of a status symbol. He lost his in the transfer probably because he never occupied any property, let alone owned it, preferring to travel around for adventure and treasure as opposed to using a merchant's means to make his money. He ended up getting one as a matter of course since there are a couple of quests and options only available to people with high status and fame marks and your status is capped if you don't possess some limit-breaker. He became a Lord just to get into the range of status he needed, and now he probably needs to cover the whole process again.
THE ABILITIES OF ALEXANDER CHRIST
Duelist type- parry/dodge and Damage per Strike emphasis at the sacrifice of magic abilities and defensive soak. He uses techniques very liberally since they're his source of non-mundane damage. The way his class is ordered and his skills are set up he is faster and far more accurate than the traditional Damage per Strike class of Reyta, the Axe-Wielder. Since he also lacks the defensive abilities that would make him a reliable melee fighter, he instead opts to use defensive skills that work off of his sufficient speed.

He uses swords- thus, having to use a weapon like the Sweeper of Sins is crimping his style even though it is the best logical choice until he can get his hands on a weapon that he is better at using that is also of a similar caliber to the Sweeper of Sins.

Active Technique: Flash Attack- As opposed to traditionally engaging an opponent in single melee, Alex Christ can make attacks with astounding speed at reduced damage and accuracy while never actually entering melee range, diving by at high speed and making the strike haphazardly on the way to another spot. Flash Attack is unusable on enemies who are prepared for it and is also usuable while engaged in Melee. A good starting AT, it reduces the amount of time that a soloing character spends in melee, which is advantageous if you never want to be in melee but you don't have the guns to kill something before it reaches you.

List of Scythe Techniques:
Royal Crescent- single sweeping attack that arcs upwards, followed by a pull out that is supposed to eviscerate. Does decreased damage to formless opponents or opponents with noncritical anatomy, like a rock golem or a chair.
Paint it Black(unchecked)- A ripping attack that tries to disable the target and cause either a Strength or Speed down effect. Useless against formless opponents.
Full Reaper(unchecked)- A wide sweep that can target multiple enemies at once. Little else to say here. <p>[---------------------------]

To Lys and Xia...please tell me one of you saved last night's RP. I dun feel like putting a much paraphrased version of it up. ={ I wasn't able to finish due to a combination of computer and family issues. IE, computer crashed, and by the time I got it back up, stepda needed it. <p>

Note: I will be editing this as necessary. This isn't all her starting material; it includes the stuff she's gained through levelling and playing the new game!

Character Name: Tiffi
Race: Deysetu
Class: Mage
Level: 6

Appearance: This Deysetsu positively towers, being scant inches above five feet in height. Her features are round and wholesome, giving a much more "girl next door" image to her than the coppery skin of her race. Her short black hair is tied into two bouncing pigtails, which dance and spin with every motion she makes. Tiffi's tail is red, and she uses it almost as a third appendage, using it to punctuate or accentuate her statements.

She also wears a long red travelling robe, trimmed with black. There is a prominent slit in the back, to allow her tail to go through, and a triangular cut in front which could have been quite fanservicy if it weren't for the fact that she wears billowing, skirt-like white trousers beneath. Her mage's staff, of all things is... a flyswatter?

Description: Cheerful, buoyant, and full of an impossible energy, her best friend Terra has commented that she has a system of pixie stix and chocolate instead of flesh and blood. Unlike most who seem attracted to the mage class, she is quite impulsive and childish at times. She also has an irrational fear of ladybugs.

The Player: Best friends with Lyle/Terra in real life, she's also played the previous version of the game as well, back when it was known as Reyta. Her goal is to explore as much of the game world as possible and do all the quests, rather than levelling. For her, the game gives an outlet to all sorts of activities that she would never get to do in real life, such as magic. She also has an irrational fear of ladybugs.

Notable Equipment:
Big Flyswatter: She won this as treasure in the contest, when she asked for a staff which would help her smite ladybugs. Her wish was granted, and she now has this most excellent staff. It is generally good against bug-types, and powers up her fire spells.

Notable Spells:
Black Hand of Darkness: Causes a magical hand to appear. This is an ability she had from the previous game.

Faerie Fire: Outlines the enemy in a shimmering aura of pink, which lowers their defense. A quite nifty spell from the previous game as well.

Galvanic Whip: Creates a whip of air. She retained this from Reyta.

Healing Flames: Fire/healing combo, which has proved to be good against the undead. A nifty combo she made up in Y'tuin! Huzzah!

Meteor Swarm: A fire/wind/earth combo, which raises pebbles from the ground and ignites them, sending them in a swarm to attack the foe.

Righto, then. I'll ask Lys for the log at a later point in time.

Kev, the only thing you'll need to change is that the rest of the equipment there also can't be used until a higher level.

Mech, I'll post in response to you as soon as Kev posts.

Nev...eh. I'll let it all go in, why not? You've already put level restrictions on much of it. <p>

*Level requirement'd*

Raging from 10-20 ohnoez. Pokage again if I should make any of em higher. Oh dear, techniques and abilities~
I guess I'll mess with those when the time comes, though being a Knight she'll mainly have carry over healing and holy spells which she won't even have the MP for and such. All her fancy physical techniques will require her to be a bit stronger then level 1. xD

And I shall get to making a post in the IC thread soon! <p>-------------

So, here's what's going down.

I want to condense the next bit that's going to happen in the RP into a single chat RP, since it will be much quicker and easier to do. Seriously, all of you running into the church instead of just running out of town? Boggles the mind.

So, post times that you'll be available. I'm -hoping- to get it out of the way by this weekend, but y'know, chances are that won't happen. Just post times, we'll try to work something out. <p>
