Want to try out Second Edition AD&D? Now's your chance!

Unread postby Idran1701 » Sat Oct 22, 2005 2:40 am

So, as some may know, over the last couple of months I've been running a weekly 2e AD&D campaign. However, with half the players gone for Sugoicon next week, I thought I'd put together a one-shot (maybe two-shot) game, open to the public. In keeping with the approaching holiday, and given the fact that this will likely not be followed up on in a sequel at all (ruling out a more traditional horror-styled game due to time constraints), this is going to be more of...well, a test of sorts, I suppose. One of the classic AD&D* modules, with the goal being to see how long you can last before death or other such fate.

Basically, it's an excuse for me to run a death-trap dungeon without having the nasty effects of killing off well-developed characters arbitrarily.

Anyway, anyone that is interested in either playing or lurking, go ahead and post or IM me. Don't worry about the regulars not going to Sugoicon filling up a char slot, for fairness sake to the others I've excluded them from playing. THough they may show up in NPC form. :O

Lack of familiarity with 2e rules shouldn't be a concern. Any of the necessary source books I can provide, or if you're really lazy, I can give you a pregen character. The game'll be scheduled for Friday the 28th, starting at around 10 pm Pacific Time, though that time's somewhat flexible; I could start an hour or two earlier or later depending on the schedules of others. It may continue into a second Saturday session as well, but this is entirely optional, and dependant on whoever (if anyone) ends up expressing interest. I'll probably want at least 4 people for this, but I'm not going to place an upper bound, as I am expecting at least 27 interested posters.

<span style="font-size:xx-small;">*: Technically 1e, but really, the difference between 1e and 2e is they dropped the THAC0 tables and stopped putting movement rates in feet per round. :(</span>
