[The Great Nevareh]

This isn't an RP pitch, but it's an idea that I had- A Trans-Igalan institution with voluntary membership for all who practice the arcane arts. Many major cities would have chapters and the institution would probably run academies. It would have sub-guilds, too, like the Guild of Healers, the League of Baronian Practitioners of Magick, or other some-such groups that together make up the whole of the I.S.A.S.C. Of course, certain nations with particularly closed borders or policies involving non-governmental institutions wouldn't have chapters in their cities.

The Collegium most likely would have a Chancellor or Chairperson who is the official head of the organization, as well as tons of councils and a huge bureaucracy. The head of such an organization is not selected via tournament, since combat ability doesn't really have much to do with the ability to head a large organization, but rather by a series of elections in these councils and committees.

This organization would also have its own investigatos and police forces to deal with magicians who have ceased to be able to control their own powers as well as protecting Igala and in some ways all of Gaera from outside incursion by extradimensional invaders. Of course, they aren't the only ones who do this, they just help.

In conjunction with this, I'd like to have their headquarters be a floating island that travels around inhabited Igala, yet acts as a teleportation/transportaion nexus between chapters, thus the island is accessable from any one of the major chapters of the ISASC.

Does this sound too insanely crackpot?

I'm sure there's something like it, probably, just not on a large scale.

The main problem I see with it being laid out like you stated, is that it's too big to work it into canon retroactively.

I'm sure someone else will come along to add to what I've said.

I should point out there are already several institutions of magic in existance already. Gunnir, Agtherim, and Everbright come to mind.

I can see a lot of the population being split over such things, which would make for it being a neato event, if pulled off in a public and fitting way.
