Mock me if you must. RP Idea.

Yeah, so. I'm a big nerd.

*coughs* And by that I mean, I was thinking of running a Harry Potter themed rp only allowing for the entrance of completely original characters.

Would anyone be interested in this? Or am I horribly stupid?

...You know, come to think of it, I already have a character for the HP world. Made it for the Hogwarts board before I left there and all.

I might be convinced to join in. Mebbe. How serious will this be? What kind of plot? How'll it be run? Setting and all? Hmmmmm? >o.o<

Well the setting would be characters making their first year into hogwarts, the joy of being sorted, yes there would be a serious plot. and for giggles, We'll say it's in Harry's seventh year. I won't run it for too too long, just a tester you see to see if there is any interest.

The plot will be sort of a mystery-esque theme, which the children must solve. :D

How it will be run is up to you guys. Whoever end up being interested, we can take a vote for chat, or board. And I imagine we'll have to use a modified windows system to pull this off.

I'm interested, though I don't know that much about the HP universe.
-----

I'm interested, but whether I can attend or not depends on how it's run! Board RP I can do easy. Chat RP... Listening to Mom rant on and on about the house being a mess, just behind me...

It might be a problem. Not sure. For something Wicked's Sake, I hope everything's fine.

Why on earth would we mock you for this (unless it's non-serious mocking)? It sounds fun, and a good way for me to get back into RPing.

'Course, I've read all of the books like 10 times each, so that might help a biiiit...

Oooh. QUITE interested. I need to reread the books again (or at least a few to get back in the swing, but no great burden— I love the books!) and I'm awright with either chat or board.

Hoooway! There seems to be sufficient interest here! SO, you mangy curs. Start tinkering with characters.

Remember, you are a first year student, and you have yet to attend hogwarts or be sorted. The fabulous harry potter is starting his sixth year. >:P

Name:
Hair color:
Eye Color:
Lineage: (full blood, half blood, muggle born?)
SEX: (do not put Yes please.)

Description of looks:

Description of background: include family. Family's thoughts on voldemore, whether or not you are related to any death eaters, ministry family, brothers and sisters, and a good detailed go on your personality. Maybe some quirky memories your character has?

Also, be good and clear about your character's personality and ambitions. I will be sorting your characters. >:P So aid me as much as possible with descrips.

Yay!
Name: Duncan Sezuro
Hair: Short, dark brown with chestnut highlights.
Eyes: Emerald green
Lineage: Non-traditional Halfblood (Son of two Half-Bloods)
Gender: Male

Description of Looks:
Duncan has always been a little taller than average but much thinner than average- he's lanky and he lacks the broadness that most boys his age have. His complexion is completely unmarred by acne, though he still might develop it as he grows older. He is a fairly attractive child, though he wears it very poorly. He doesn't seem to have the self-confidence that those who are attractive and know it have, and this tends to obscure his physical appearance.
He also likes hats, though not for any particular reason.

Description of Persona:
Duncan is an incredibly brilliant child who can absorb knowledge and information instantaenously- but he does not have any hint of the confidence that those who wear their intelligence proudly have. He has serious doubts of his ability, despite the fact that it is continually proven to him by praise from teachers in secular schooling. He has a predisposition to like muggle techniques for solving problems as opposed to wizard techniques, and he prefers electricity to magic. He's generally quiet and socially awkward, and (unlike Hermione) he is never eager to show that he knows the answer. He's very easy to bully and he won't stand up for himself unless urged to, but when put into a position where he has to defend himself or someone else, he'll do it with all of his ability. It's just rare that he'll do that.
Duncan has no particular opinion of learning- he doesn't understand how someone can be excited about new information since it's just there, and he doesn't know why anyone should dread a harmless concept like a math theorem. He plays the violin very well because he instantly knows exactly what it is his teacher wanted him to do- he's like a vaccuum. So the whole concept of learning is wasted on him- He could glean just as much information from a class as he could from reading a book on the subject. Since he never takes notes (nor does he need to), he drives some of his teachers mad when he has a perfect grasp of material without even appearing to need to try, and he doesn't understand that not everyone can do it. Due to this, he's learned not to show off his intelligence or his ability because it apparently offends some people.

Background:
Duncan was born to Michael and Rachel Sezuro in the town of Bethesda, Maryland. Both of his parents are native to Europe, but they left to start their life together in the United States. Both had attended Hogwarts as children, and were contemporaries of Potter, Lupin, Black, and Snape, though of course they never met them (The other four were in their seventh year when Michael and Rachel both started their schooling there).
Duncan's parents are firm believers in early education, and made sure their son had the best possible muggle education that could be given to him. He went to a variety of private schools in his early years where he did magnificently enough to skip grades- three of them. He was technically a freshman in high school (At Sidwell Friends) when his parents told him that he was going to end up going to the Hogwarts' Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry- as a transfer student. He would be starting as a first year, same as all of the other children his age, and thus a year before he even recieved his acceptance his parents began to teach him the ways of the wizard.
Of course, he was never really exposed to wizardry that much up until then- his parents had preferred the quiet lives afforded to them by the death of Voldemort, much akin to the lives that they had had as children (being born of wizard and muggle). He also rather enjoyed the way he had been doing things- he liked the postal service better than the owl mail, television better than talking pictures, candy that didn't do anything but taste good, and electric lights better than magical lights due to the fact that he UNDERSTOOD how those things worked. However, he also didn't want to disappoint his parents, so he went along with it.
Of course, Duncan has been kept fairly insulated from the whole Wizard World, so even though he knows what's been going on it has very little emotional meaning for him. His coming to Hogwarts is just something else in his lifetime of constant educational change.
[---------------------------]

Name: Divinity Pane (Dinny for short)
Hair color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Lineage: Muggle-born
Sex: Female!

Description of looks: A surprisingly tall girl of about 5'6" with hair cut boyishly short, usually in a mussy state of disarray. Not that she's totally unfeminine, but she moves and acts more like a scrapper than a feminine ideal— quite fitting, since she is a bit of a scrapper. She's in wiry good shape, though with thin, bony knuckles and a slightly snub nose. She's also quite obviously some flavor of Asian.

Description of background: Her British family adopted her from China when she was a baby, and she doesn't speak or understand any Chinese, having been immersed in the English language for almost her entire life. Despite that, it doesn't keep her from favoring Asian-flavored styles of jewellery and various yin-yang symbols, though nothing overtly feminine. She's rather touchy about her family, and is quick to turn aggressive if anyone has a problem with her being an adoptee.

Even so, she has more than enough of her own excuses to get into fights. Starting at eight, she'd get into scuffles with the boys over obnoxious behavior, or when she thought they were picking on someone unfairly. She was small for her age then, but kept doggedly pursuing the fights because she reasoned that if she didn't stand up to bullies, who would? Dinny made use of her small size for dodging purposes, and learned to rely on dirty tricks when the going got rough. When she hit ten though, she went through a wild growth spurt which left her towering over most of her classmates— and in a much better position to do damage, something that caused her no small delight.

Despite her willingness to stick up for others though, Dinny's impetuous nature and self-reliance made it hard for her to make friends. She'd often become distant and reclusive outside of a fighting situation, keeping to herself and ignoring everyone until she thinks that they need help.

Of course, the Pane family was none too happy about her aggressive urges, even though her adoptive mother was proud of her for at least being willing to 'express her opinion'— while her father simply stated she was nuts. Despite that, they're a happy family, as Dinny does try to keep her grades up and usually gets satisfactory scores. One of their favorite family outings is to go to the zoo, especially to see the tigers. Since the Panes do not have any biological children of their own, Dinny is quite happily the center of their attention, although her rather eccentric uncle regards her as halfway between a pet and a sideshow exhibition. Though well-meaning, he's a bit.. off in the head. Mr. and Mrs. Pane quietly explained to Divinity once that her uncle had never been quite the same since his wife had died in a gas explosion... the same one used as a cover-up for Sirus Black's supposed massacre, though as the Muggles didn't know, they wouldn't have cared, or felt even the slightest bit of comfort knowing that the death had been due to a madman's magic rather than a bursted gas pipe.

Of course, it doesn't HELP that whenever her uncle came over, Dinny had usually lost her temper and showed the signs of a fight, and the time he ate dinner with the Panes it REALLY wasn't her fault that just as he was laughing at some sullen remark of hers that his pudding slipped off the spoon, seemed to HOVER in midair for a moment as it looked astonishingly like a pair of juicy lips blowing a raspberry, and then promptly splattered all over his new shirt.... or the time that he brought in some stuffed and mounted pheasants to show Mr. Pane, then when they had all left the room and later returned, all that was left were the mounts, a stray feather, and a lot of bird droppings.

Honestly. It wasn't HER fault.

Just a few strange coincidences.

And really, it couldn't have been that odd. Maybe they left a window open and some bird of prey (were hawks that big?) had carried off the pheasants, being a great stupid birdbrain. Or some trick of the light with the pudding.

It wasn't until the Panes got the letter that it all started fitting in place.

The pudding. The birds.

They tried pinning her fights and how cats liked her on the magic too, but Dinny really thought that was pushing it a bit far. She rather thought that cats liked her because she was Dinny, just as she got into fights because she was Dinny. After all, just because she could learn magic didn't mean that it was her defining trait, now was it?

And so.... well.

Dinny regards the opportunity to learn magic as being another 'trick' she can use for vigilante purposes, as well as a certain innate curiousity about the mysterious unknown (TM). With that in mind, as soon as she got her spellbooks and wand, she promptly delved into the texts, trying to learn and devour as much information as she could to learn about this new world which she has just started to be exposed to.

Pity that she doesn't remember most of what she read.
