A QUESTION OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE

Unread postby JoshuaDurron » Tue Sep 23, 2003 4:39 pm

I've read several of the Shrined RPs here, as well as several of the active ones which are popular. What I want to know is, which of the following do you find interesting, both as an RPer, and a player? An engaging plot, or characters that are fun to RP with? While both are obviously important, what I want to know is... which would you rather have MORE of?

Awsome plots, I want to of save the world!

Fun characters, so I can hit on the hot femal NPCs! I like both, but lean toward plot and plausibility.

Of course, not even epic stories need not be about saving the world. ^^
------------------

Really, I am perfectly happy to have the most ridiculous plot ever if I'm RPing with insane NPCs in the process.
<Chat> <Matto says, "What's up?"

I agree with Banj, but it doesn't have to be limited to wacky NPCs (refer to Neo Vanists Dungeon for more info).
---------------------

I voted for as much of both as possible, but I lean towards chars... since even if the plot is great and all, I like having interesting characters around for interaction, so I actually CARE about what happens with 'em. ^^;

As mentioned by the others, I want both, but lean more towards characters.

*shrugs* I couldn't say really ^_^ One I lack experience cause all of the RP's I've been in I've generally enjoyed the characters and the plots.

Now with CI characters are obviously all important. =P But that so goes without saying I just gotta hit my head head with a mellet for suggesting it. *does so*

Lys summed up my opinion. If I couldn't give a shit about the characters, I'm not going to be able to RP appropriately. Little intros for even minor NPCs help bring colour to an RP, even if it's only describing what they're wearing, and the colour of their hair.

my belief: you can't have a plot without characters, it's like a cookie jar without cookies. the more intresting the characters, the more intresting the plot. but cookies without a cookie jar are just cookies and that's no fun...

I definitely lean towards plot. When a GM puts in the time to really write a good plot, it can make even lacklustre characters shine like stars. It also makes it a far better RP to be in... but hey, that's just me.
--------------------
