Remember this? It has a new color scheme, you might notice.
Yes, Draicana, the head of the Boot Camp, turned the board over to me and RPGWW at large for our wicked, wicked whims. :o
I dunno if we'll get much use out of it, but hey, it could be fun to play with!
So, I want to know a few things:
(1) Who thinks the current arrangement of subforums on the Boot Camp can be improved upon, and how? Or do you think it should stay the same?
[Pervy suggested to consolidate the punctuation, spelling, and grammar subforums; I think that may be a good idea].
(2) Who would be interested in putting up lesson threads?
(3) Who would be interested in modship? Adminship? Suggestions for those other than yourself? Activeness, knowledge, a certain amount of diplomacy, and a willingness to step in if other mods/admins are out of line are things to take into consideration.
(4) Other suggestions for the forum? Other thoughts come to mind?
(5) Bacon?

Typing up a post about character creation!
Also, I suggest possibly a section apart from the RPing stuff about GMing.

I'm liking those ideas, FD.
Also: character creation--under role playing, then?

I'd say so. I'd like to help out with that aspect in particular, if I may.

A few examples of starting characters, classic RPs and the like probably wouldn't go amiss.
KnightsofSquare: DarkLordKelne is a tomboy bunnygirl, jealous of the business successes of her 37 older brothers, she is pursuing her own business degree in hopes of someday initiating a hostile takeover against her brothers' corporations.

Yup, under roleplaying.

Jak: Most certainly!
Kelne: Perhaps example excerpts? You can get the same gist from a well-chosen page or two of an RP as you can from a 6 or 8 hour chat RP, or a several page long board RP.

I'd be willing to help out there too, though I obviously won't check it very often until there's a decent amount of people there.
Also, I can't post this thang until I have mod priveledges. Boo hoo. :'(

If the little dudes out there need a supervisor for Roleplaying, or if they want someone to skim over their stuff, I'd be down for that the most.
But of course, I'll help out in any areas that are lacking.
---------------

I, sirs and madams, will help.
*dramatic cloak fwip, wearing a mask. Everyone can realize it's Dan.*
I can help with Roleplaying, I do believe that I know the important bits and how to build up.

Either Dan's trying to be *SPOILER* from Suikoden 3, or the tuxedo dude from sailor moon. :(

The drill forums are open for people to add any lesson threads that they want to. =O

I suggest re-naming the 'drill' threads 'lesson' threads, since that seems to be a more accurate representation of what they contain. Drills makes me think 'practice' which makes me think there are duplicate forums.
Also, I'd be willing to help, if I were needed.

I am totally typing up a post on godmoding and character power balance in RP.
EDIT: It occurs to me that there's really nothing I can type that would be better than the excellent bit we've got on the site on the many different forms of godmoding. And really, power balance is nothing more than a matter of "don't be more powerful than everybody else kthxbye".
I will think of another subject to write on.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
