<FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>Here's something that is bugging me recently, epecially so given the replys I have:

What comes first, the OOC RP recruitment or the Character Sheets?

Expanded:
Do people create the characters they will use first, modifying the character to suit any future RP's needs. Or do they go hunting for an RP to play in first, only afterwards making the character to appear in it.</FONT><FORM method=post action="http://p068.ezboard.com/frpgww60462frm4.processVote?topicID=1600.topic"><table border=0 cellpadding=3 cellspacing=0 width="55%"><tbody><tr><td><input type="radio" name="choice" value="1"><FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>the OOC RP recruitment </FONT></td></tr><tr><td><input type="radio" name="choice" value="2"><FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>the Character Sheets</FONT></td></tr><tr><td><input type="radio" name="choice" value="3"><FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>the World everything occurs in</FONT></td></tr><tr><td><input type="radio" name="choice" value="4"><FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>what KIND of question is this, NooB?</FONT></td></tr><tr><td><input type="radio" name="choice" value="5"><FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>...................</FONT></td></tr></tbody></table><P><input type=submit value="Vote"></form><FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=1>Show results</FONT>

Well, any of these, I think.

Someone could gather a known group of people for an RP, or post a thread saying they want folks, in which people then post their sheets. As for characters themselves, some may be made up for specific RPs, or pulled up from the depths of memory and/or wherever else sheets are stored.

Hope this helps :D!

The fencer has it right. Really, ANY of the options you've presented are perfectly viable and happen/have happened at this community.

There are a lot of established characters, sure, who get into RP after RP, but then we also have RPs that characters are made especially for - for example, Jak's mercenary RP has unique characters in it, and pretty much any RP you could name in the Other RP forum has, too.

This suggests a trend, obviously - those RPs set in our established worlds (especially Gaera) are more likely to attract established characters. <p><div style="text-align:center">

I agree totally with what's been said here. Gaera RPs attract previously created characters almost all the time, with the opposite being true of the Rps in the Other RP section. Of course, personal preference does come into play; some people are very fond of hanging onto characters and porting them from setting to setting, although anything more than a personality port with a modified background often leads to trouble.
