<FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>THAT'S RIGHT! I am going to try to GM another board RP. Hopefully this one will last longer than some of the others I've tried to do. Towards that end, I have decided on the time-tested method of giving several options, and asking people which RP interests them the most. I've tried to make these fairly diverse. Your choices are-
Exact Change-
(Based on the Manga/Anime "Full Metal Alchemist") Alchemy is a scientific process in which a person changes one thing into another. It requires nothing more than a carefully drawn circle and enough stamina to trigger the reaction. The only limitation is the ingredients on hand. The natural law of 'Exact exchange' still applies. It takes years to learn alchemy, and incredible intelligence to master it. But those who master it have incredible power at their disposal. Such power is bound to attract attention.
The National Alchemists are a division of the military, and as their name implies, they are all skilled with alchemy. Some of them engage in research for the government, others function as members of the regular army, litterally 'living weapons'. They have immense ammounts of money and resorces at their disposal, a rank in the army equivelant to Major, and nearly limitless possibilites. However, there is a price, as any alchemist could forsee. National Alchemists are also known as dogs of the military, for sacrificing their talents to the government. Even trying, then failing to join their ranks can be cause for stigmatizm. Only the most intelligent and most foolish, or the most tallented and most desperate will even try.
And they must be willing to try hard. Every year, aspiring National Alchemists go to the exam, hoping to pass and gain the covetted title. Coming from all backgrounds, with all sorts of dreams and ambitions, bringing their own array of expertise to the field, they've gathered together again this year... who will pass, and who will fail?
The Grand Stair-
A nuclear holocaust. A continent surrounded by poisoned waters. No contact with other continents in two hundered years. An expansive mega-corporation that must work for local governments to keep its employees alive. Massive tracts of barren, radioactive wasteland. A religious sect that believes their leaders are divine appointees, and can perform the miracles to prove it. A sky constantly filled with clouds. A growing military dictatorship. A civilizationthat uses water as currency, but at the same time calls the oceans 'poisoned' and fears them more than anything.
In this world, there are people known as Rad Runners (short for Radiation Runners.) In a place where anything besides of direct landline communication and face to face contact is borderline impossible, curriers are an invaluable service. The strongest, toughest of these will take messages across even the most barren wastelands, in the shortest length of time that is humanly possible. Despite an incredibly short life span and the fact that they are often called to run through the worst radiactive hotspots in the continent, thousands take the name of Rad Runner, and serve as curriers. Only a few are tough enough, smart enough, or fast enough to survive the riggors of the job.
Carrying their messages or cargos, braving bandits, bounty hunters, thieves, and the unforgiving desolation they must cross, armed only with their speed, strength, wit, and a few paltry guns or knives, possibly some explosives, these brave souls set their sights on their most longed for prize: Honor, glory, and immortalization in legend.
Every four years, the Grand Run is held in the ruins of Chicago. Those who win the event can have all that- and more. To the Rad Runner, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Thousands of runners flock to the city for the greatest sporting event in the Desolated continent. But only the best can win...
Shaman's Fued-
A person dies, and their soul goes on to the afterlife. Or perhaps it has unfinished buisness in this world, and it remains here. Perhaps it just wasn't ready to stop living.
The souls of the earth walk about us, as well. Avatars of earth and air, fire and water, or the stars above, angels and demons, or mythic beast lords. It is even rumored that the spirit of heroism itself drifts through this mortal coil, searching for humans worthy of its blessings.
Those that have learned to call on spirits and weild their power are called Shaman. It is said that the greatest of them can shake the earth to its very foundations. Two such shaman threaten to do just that. Battling each other for reasons unknown to the spirit world, they have set off such powerful astral tremblings that the very gods have taken notice. They fear that old Father Time himself may awaken, causing the eternally forestalled Ragnarok, the final, earth shattering battle between the gods and the void.
To prevent this, they send forth a call throughout the spirit realm, searching for those willing to show themselves to the material realm, and search for a way to stop this fued.
