Now I know... or realize that this idea might not go over... or it might get stamped into the ground with much less regard than one has for the insects underfoot.

But somewhere along the lines... my brain got churning out with this idea.

The Final Dark Future RP.

I mean since it's pretty much gone the way of the Dodo, why not have it go out in style? One big final tale of the world of the Dark Future. One that has a great deal of the characters' stories intersecting for one final task.

I have no true story to this yet. Many ideas of what this "DF: The End" RP might be about... but that's just me... I want this to be one big collaboration that will bring some sort of close (or closure) to many of the characters' stories.

Aw hell, it's been either "Big Secret Government Project". That or some sort of "Species War" that covers the entire world. Stuff like that... but maybe I'm getting older... maybe a little wiser in a sense. But I knew that:

1) I wasn't the only one thinking up ideas for the DF world, so it makes sense that whatever end mark we put to it... it should be one that comes from the entire group.

2) The "End" RP should be something that we all agree on. I knew there'd be some who would agree on whatever idea I decided to run with, and others who'd want not part in it. Plus I had no idea what kind of major occurance would willingly bring together many of these characters into one "last ride". Alot of these characters are of different personalities and at times would rather be at each others' throats than standing side by side. Markus would probably willingly take on a job or task with Sister Abigail (though even then they'd be at major odds with each other since they're from different "schools" of hunters), but never Martel.

So I knew if I was gonna end it, I might as well ask for help, input, and other such stuff from the other former DF-players. Make it one big collabrative effort, a story that has just about everyones' (at least those who were more prominent in rping) ideas into it's creation.

Course I'm sure what's going to come now... I can almost predict who will say it too. This probably isn't going to go over well with the others... and I'm going to have made something like this for no reason. Further making myself look like a fool for even trying... and furthering my eventual Carpal Tunnel.

But hey, I figured I'd try at least. Ya never know, it might go over well, it might not. Whose to say?

If they like it, we can get to work on thinking of ideas.

See, it HASN'T gone the way of the dodo. Some of us still use it. Even if we didn't, it would be worth keeping it around just in case anyway. <p><div style="text-align:center">

Though a nice, epic GMed RP in the DF world wouldn't be a bad idea.

Well, while it actually sounds like a half decent idea, a few things:

1) Something involving all the characters would have to be horribly contrived, since there are those like myself who have gone to certain lengths to keep their characters separate in the first place.

2) Dan's an idiot. In this thread, had he not posted, Ash would have come off as the bumbling, rambling person that he is. Unfortunately, Dan's post outshines that as being wholly useless, having no explanation or anything. In fact, it seems like he's just being contrary for the sake of going against Ash. Now while I'm all for that, at least wait until he actually does something stupid.

3) Who's gonna GM it? I know I wouldn't want to, much rather preferring to play my character than worry about what happens next.

4) I wouldn't have time for it nowadays anyway.

6) Now taking suggestions for #5.

7) If the DF world is still in use, how come I haven't been invited to any of the RPs?

Okay, fair enough. I'll sum it up:


1) It ain't dead, as Ross said.
2) The idea is dumb, sorry. It's just that a story like that makes no sense to be made. Because most characters don't even know each other at the point. Because it isn't dead, new characters got created, and new RPers entered and all, y'know.
