RPGWW

This is the first in a series of RPs in development. It will take place in Baron, one of many badly neglected settings, and will have no system (that the players need worry about, anyway). It'll take place on the board, with perhaps some chats as time and circumstance permit.

Requirements:

Well, none, really. All are welcome to apply, though less exotic characters would be preferable, if only for the sake of the GM's mind.

The Setup:

The title should give you a big clue as to the nature of this RP. The appearance or reappearance of a dark power in Baron, the call for heroes, the response or perhaps even accidental involvement of some such heroes, and the quest to combat said dark power.

You should be able to tell by now that I don't want to give too much away. :D Ooh, mysterious.

I'd definitely like to volunteer. Possibly with my newest character, Waikiki, but she'd be a bit 'exotic'. =P If Fystal aren't allowed, I think I'll be using Jessamin Copperhead. ^-^ Yay for breaking in new characters!

And Dan, Cha— didn't Ross say "no system"? =P

And since brief descriptions of either of my chars may be useful:

Waikiki: Tropical-island Fystal (like nekojin with a horn and fluffy otter tail). Very cheerful, exuberant, and exclusively likes girls. For more information about Fystal, look up Bes' "Revamping Argovia" thread.

Jessamin: Circus performer. Acrobatics are her main strength, though she can do decent juggling and some sleight of hand. Enjoys being on the move, and exploration.

Finally. I went and dumped Reiko into the Riva reality, and then never got to do anything with her. Now I can!

This, of course, was mostly a problem because she wouldn't be a level 1 in any system.......

Anyways... Reiko is a half-dragon (lung wang [turtle dragon]) who is 36 and, thus, right in the middle of puberty. Oh dear. She looks like a very solidly built human girl of about 17 (but very tall). Except for the fangs. And the red eyes. And the little black horns. Oh, and she has porcupine-like quills instead of hair, in a long and massive ponytail. And a two-foot lizard tail with four spikes on. She's about 7 feet tall, but weighs in at half a ton (hard on furniture). Her weapons of choice are the sledgehammer and a really heavy crossbow. She can breathe fire naturally, with no magical or spiritual or even chi influence used, but the ability is unreliable. And while she can't get drunk off of alcohol, it causes her fire breath to act up. Flaming hiccups are.... hazardous.

Name: Iluen
Race: human

Description: Iluen is a tall, muscular man of about 30. His hair is black, turning gray at the temples, and he has brown eyes. He tends to wear plain silver plate-mail with no device. One of his distinctive features is a metallic green gauntlet on his right hand. This is in fact the Gauntlet of Kurrek, which he found in an ancient dungeon.

Skills: Iluen is a powerful hand-to-hand fighter, even more so since he found the gauntlet. The gauntlet itself can be used to claw, and cannot be removed by any force that would not tear off his arm completely. Iluen also thinks that the gauntlet has other, as yet unrevealed powers which would be powered by his life force. The gauntlet already drains his magical power for sustenance. It also seems to mentally whisper in his head, constantly asking to fight.

Backstory: Iluen was a reasonably successful adventurer, plundering dungeons for profit. It was in one of these dungeons that he found the Gauntlet of Kurrek, on the hand of a skeletal creature. He killed the creature and put on the gauntlet, only to find that he was unable to remove it. Since then, he has been searching for a method to get it off of him.

Personality: Iluen is tired of the constant fighting and the pain that the gauntlet gives him; however, in an actual battle, instinct takes over and he fights with a terrible rage that only abates when the fight ends. He only adventures to vent the feelings of rage that the gauntlet induces and to find a way to remove this cursed item. <p>-----

Oh. Okay. I wasn't sure if your previous post was in acceptance of everything so far, or what.

I think I'll submit a new character, Val Entrino- A former Barian Knight who ended up in Baron due to Simon Marlowes experiments just before the war started.

A write up, for Ross:

Backstory: Val Entrino was born into a wealthy family in Windor city, in Barius. Privately eduacted, it was discovered that he had a fair amount of magical potential, and he was soon raised as what his parents called a "Gray mage", using both Black and White magic. Being somewhat skilled in both the magical arts and the physical, he was quickly recruited into the Black Soul Knights when Vaniyakna came to power. However, just before the war, Val found himself somewhere outside Baron, having suddenly awoken there one day. Taking the chance to take a vacation at first, he soon decided he'd rather stay put, rather than return to the job he hated. Now, he does what he needs to get by and nothing more, taking the time to relax.

Appearance: Val is of medium hight, but a bit on the skinny side. He's got dirty blonde hair, and green eyes. He has a fondness for his black trenchcoat, even if he hated what it represented, simply because "He likes the fasion". He also wears a black plumed fedora, combat boots, slacks, and a gray shirt.

Personality: Val's pretty easy going, and lets things slide quite easily (Expecially for a former Black Soul Knight). He's not always the best at thinking things out before going through with them, but he still tries. Like most Barians, he likes to fight, but he's never in a hurry to go against an opponent he's not sure of his ability to beat. Other than that, he's normally quiet and studious, but will speak his mind if he gets the chance and feels the need.

Abilities: Val has abilities in both Black and White magic, but can't do either particularly well just yet. He can also use a sword to some extent, but again, he could use a bit of improvement. With time, he could be a good swordsman, or a great mage, but he lacks the drive to attain such goals at the moment. <p>

Presenting my Chuushiman character, Akazawa Nanashi.

Nanashi was raised in Chuushima, in a family of what appeared to be acrobats and entertainers. However, looks can be decieving. The family was connected to a larger clan involved in various shady dealings involved with the darker side of the nation. Like many others in her family, Nanashi was raised to be an assassin...quick, deadly, efficient, but perfectly innocent looking to the outside world.

Nanashi was quite competant at her proffession, and rose to a rather high rank...until one day, a job of hers went wrong, and it all fell apart. Having the options of "leaving the country or die", Nanashi got ahold of her few remaining contacts and managed to make her way to Igala.

Now she's living in Baron, keeping a low profile. Virtually no one there knows of her past...they just know her as that nice, quiet Chuushiman lady who lives down the street. <p>
