You know, I've been thinking, and i came up with this idea, I don't know if ayone had come up with it yet. What about a character that is an inventor? He can like invent things on the spur of the moment and help out the team.

...How do you invent things on the spur of the moment? <p>

A McGyver style character I'd think. I could roll with it and think it would be fairly interesting overall.

Chandler is hardly an improvisational inventor. What you're suggesting is what GURPS would call a "cinematic gadgeteer"--i.e., you can make an orbital laser satellite of death with a paper clip, two rubber bands, and a lump of uranium. That's an extreme example, but the idea of being able to use random bits and pieces to make comparatively complex gadgets is not new in fiction.

Howerver, Gaera, being a fantasy world first and foremost, would have all sorts of limits on what you could effectively pull out of your ass. It isn't an impossible idea by any means, but it'd be a bit of a stretch in most cases. <p>

I would think it would be more like Tenchi Muyo's Washuu.

You know, near-constant access to a wide array of not-neccessarily-useful things, but the ability to achieve really wierd results with it. You know, I fix the TV, now it not only recieves all of the channels on earth, but also every channel broadcast in this quadrant of the galaxy in any manner, within fifty minutes.

Oh, but I had to use pieces of your microwave and toaster, so now those don't work. Oh, well.

That sort of thing. Nowhere near as extreme as the previous example, but....

More improvisational than creational, if you know what I mean.

This quote makes me giggle every time I look at it. Honestly.

and I once had an inventor character named Dr. Birkley... I'd like to rp him again now that I'm thinking about it.Image <p>"So instead of finding a real warrior, you go out and get little girl in hootchie skirt?" - Nicolai, Resident Evil 3 (not really)</p>

I agree with jooie. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. It is a secret you have yet to grasp, although the first syllable has been spoken in a dream you cannot quite recall." --Unknown Armies</span></p>
