This idly makes me wonder if any mage has become powerful enough to teleport the distance to the moon and then promptly suffocated.

Or worse, miscalculated the distance to the moon and wound up transported into vacuum or high atmosphere.

I wouldn't be surprised. If a real chinese man tried to improved travel by strapping fireworks to a chair and lighting them all (And yes, that did happen aparently), then I'm willing to say some random Gaeran would try to send himself to the moon. Possibly more than one.

I wonder who'd be more well remembered though. The guy who tried it and disappeared forever, or the guy who tried it and landed into a messy pile at his starting point 2 minutes after he teleported.

That makes the best Gunnir legend ever. "The Cult of the Stars." The legend is based around a group of wizards that made a pact to colonize one of Gaera's moons and use whatever resources that were there to further the Gunnir cause. The group devised a mass-teleportation scheme and transported themselves simultaneously.

Whether they ever reached the moon or not is unknown, because none of them were ever heard from again. Some students believe that the cult found the moon so appealing that they never bothered to return home. Others argue as to whether or not they made it in the first place.

No one has officially attempted to make the trip since, but that does not necessarily mean that no one has tried.

There is also a legend of the Dark Sorceror, Sini, who was banished to a far off star. Said 'Sini'star flickers between bluish and silverish, with glimmers of red occasionally :D

THIS HAS BEEN CANON FOR SOME TIME >:

Man, I had to read that three times to get it. I am loosing my edge.

...also, the idea of a mad cult wanting to destroy the moon for reasons that only make sense to them is a good one. I'm sure that's what Spleen meant to say in his previous post instead of a village or city or whatever retarded thing he did say.

A pre-emptive attack on the moon dost give me the giggles.

Perhaps if the government officials all got really drunk.

Maybe to get rid of the "werewolf menace"? I mean, no moon, no werethings!

(Ignoring the fact that there really isn't much of a menace from any type of lycanthrope anywhere around, of course.)

OK, here's my thought.

Tomorrow night, we start a chat room and simply hammer out all these details. The amount of planets, what they're like, their moons, any nearby cosmic phenomena, that kind of thing. Cuz those answers aren't being found here, anymore.

Why tomorrow night? I'm not AVAILABLE tonight! >.> Who's with me?

Busy tomorrow night, plus this sort of stuff doesn't need to be hammered out at one time, or even anytime soon. If someone wants to do something for the sake of a plot/something, they should be able do it (So long as it isn't totally obnoxious or disruptive.).

Yeah. Why hammer out details if they aren't necessary? I mean, unless you're planning an RP in which they will be required, in which case just come up with something yourself and that'll be fine, and also what RP is this where you would have to know the details of Gaera's solar system to run it anyway, because it could be intriguing?

I'm going to have to agree with Zero on this one. Actually not having anything defined gives a GM room to manuever if'n he wants to run with something of this nature. Also, there doesn't actually seem to be a real need to hash all of this out at this time. Lastly, tommorow is a bad night for me as well, but then you should know that by now. :P

Once again, I personally don't think it's necessary. If you invent a planet or something, no one is going to care. Probably.

If you invent fifty moons so that you can always be in were-form, we have issues.
