(First post, go easy on me would ya)

I noticed this site tru a link, want to join in a RP, but it seems there are massives butt-loads of character sheets in here.

so, question: do i need a character sheet to proceed? what other such essentials do i need to join an RP (i have found, but not read the histories of .......geia(?)geberia(?)...... hmmm )

Here are some things to ponder:

RPing here generally requires writing. Writing requires spelling, grammar, and other basic things. Sure it may mean putting a bit more thought into what you write, but that just makes things easier to read, eh?

Also, you don't need a character sheet, but it's best if you post your character's backstory and the like here, for us to help you make it fit into the location and timeline.

Your character's backstory should be 'realistic'; by which I mean "Avoid cliches and general over-coincidence". Creativity and believability is good, so put thought into who (not what) your character is. If they are a mage, then surely they must have had a reason to study the arts of magic, and of course, they must have some other talents...formal training is expensive. If they're a warrior, then what provoked them to learn? Necessity? Remember, though, that finding a way for your character to fit into the world is good, so please don't go making up locations and events...

That's about it. Ponder these things, and write out who your character is! We'll critique it for you, and give guidance and stuff.

another question:

.... my only other experience with forums is with vBulletin, which has a handy "sort by last post in thread" function, could not find anything similar here....

is there any way to spot all the active RPs going on? it seems that a lot of RPs are kind-of closed, even when there is no outward indication of them being so.

Most RPs, even if not stated as closed, generally require asking the GM permission before just hopping into the thread. As for the 'sort by last post' thing, I face the same problem when I'm not logged in, but the problem disappears when I log in. At least that's how it works for me. *shrug*

Lyssy is correct. In order to see the topics sorted by the last post, you have to have an actual ezboard account and be logged into that account. <p><div style="text-align:center">
