Has anyone else here ever been irritated that other people cannot spell the names of your characters correctly?

If you wanna elaborate on it, go ahead. I myself am going to wait until a few people answer this thread before I go ahead and elaborate. <p>

Yeah, I can see how it is annoying, although I tend to keep my character names relatively simple...

But, sometimes its hard to remember proper spellings for some names on the fly, so you go from memory. D'ar, just forget I posted :D

...the first RP I was in on RPGWW, ever, Folx's character referred to me as "Hikaril" multiple times in the same sentence. I remember banging my head against the nearest solid object. <p>

Blah. I get that alot.

But then again, alot of my characters names are complicated in that they have strange names, or in some cases, multiple names that sound very close to other words.

Okay, I guess I'd better put the ones I remember most up here.

First off, the one character of mine that tends to get his name misspelled the most is probably Banlix. Usually it ends up "Balinx" or something like that.

Other names of my characters that I remember having been misspelled or mistyped (with what ended up getting typed in parentheses):

Kathryn (Katherine)

And I can only ever recall this sort of thing happening with one character, Aramni. Can't remember how it was misspelled. My other characters with strange names get themselves an abbreviation, such as "Kilra" and "Petty."

Also, it feels good to type on a UK keyboard again.

Sorry I'm with Rube here, if you don't want this sort of thing happening name ya characters along the lines of "Mike" or "Cliff". Something bloody easy to remember - a fairly english sounding name makes it even easier - if it really bothers you that much.

Cause at times its bloody annoying having to have a notepad with everyone names written out on it and copying and pasting the names whenever I need em in a chat RP - or spending ten minutes checking through the posts trying to find exactly how its spelt, ya crazy bastards. - Not that I mind too much but its the only way I'll ever get half of your names right.

Then again this is why all my characters tend to give everyone nik names - much to the annoyance of some I'm sure but thats the way it goes. Heh

It was funny, back when I first RPed here, I used to spell Hikaral's name "Hakaril"... it was a mistake, but now I'm good.

They don't REMEMBER it! I swear, another "Daien" when I'm using D or another "Dan's character" when I just told them the name and I'm going on a homicidal spree! GRYEAH!

Surprisingly, nobody ever misspells "Kotoki." All my other character names are easy and English-based, so I don't have any trouble. ^_^
