Character Closet Guidelines

Unread postby Archmage144 » Fri Oct 28, 2005 1:27 am

This thread is a list of basic rules and guidelines for posting in the Character Closet. The rules are listed in order of importance, with the most important rule being first!

Rule 1: This subforum is for the posting of RP character sheets and descriptions, whether they are Philsys or some other system (or no system at all and just a character description) for handy linking.

Rule 2: If you want to comment on another player's character, please do so constructively. This will be enforced; if you post immature, rude, or pointless criticism without explaining specifically what the problem is, you will be notified by a moderator that you need to edit your post to be a constructive comment instead of a pointless attack. If you do not do so, your post will be deleted.

Rule 3: If you are posting a character using an established system, please format your character sheet in a readable manner. In fact, do this if you are not using an established system. Use appropriate headings and spacing to make everything readable instead of posting an enormous block of text.

Rule 4: This should be apparent from the rest of the FAQs and material on the site, but if you are posting a character for a specific setting, know and understand that setting so that your character can make sense within the world. Unless stated otherwise, it will generally be assumed that your characters are intended to fit into Gaera's main world somehow. If they are not, please state so to avoid confusion if it might arise (especially if for some reason your first post to the forum, ever, is in this subforum). Posting a character that does not fit appropriately into the setting will likely result in you being told that you need to read the rules and change your character appropriately.

It is ultimately your choice if you decide to ignore the rules of the setting, create an implausible character, and decry the entire forum as elitist bastards. It is not our fault.

Rule 5: There is no rule five, but someday, there might be!

Have fun creating and posting characters! I will always fondly remember this subforum as "the subforum that made it official that you should not email Archmage your character sheets and harass him until he uploads them to the site." <p><EZCODE>
